Rules and Regulations
GENERAL
1. Bambi Lake may make such reasonable rules governing Bambi’s entire retreat center and
use of campground as Bambi deems necessary. Camper agrees to observe and comply with
all rules in these Terms and Conditions or publicly posted in designated areas. Violations of
the rules shall be deemed a breach of this Agreement. Bambi may make changes in the
rules at any time. Bambi will give 14 days prior written notice of changes to any Contract
Camper (Previous booked retreats or events or Seasonal Campers) before the new rules
become effective.
2. Any notices necessary under the provisions of this Agreement may be served personally
upon the parties (“campers”) or by the United States Certified Mail, properly addressed to
the respective parties per the address given on their Event or Season Contract or Camper
Registration.
3. A Camper(s) is defined as a person 21 years of age or older that is leasing or otherwise
inhabiting a camping site for purpose of accommodating a camping unit, leasing or
otherwise inhabiting any other lodging on Bambi property for camping, retreats, events or
volunteer work. In addition, the camper(s) adult children (18 or older), minor children, and
grandchildren are also welcome at Bambi and considered campers.
4. Each Camper, Event or Retreat Group will designate a person in charge, who will be
responsible for ensuring that everyone in their group understands and adheres to these
guidelines.
5. Accepting these terms and conditions is agreeing to abide by all conditions here in.
6. Camper(s) shall not, voluntarily, involuntarily or by operation of the law, rent the whole or any
part of a campsite, building or any personal property located on Bambi property to any other
persons, businesses or organizations to occupy the same or for profit without express
written permission of Bambi Lake. Any attempt to assign or rent the same shall cause this
Agreement to be deemed null and void effective immediately and without refund of any
previously paid rates or fees. Acceptance of payment of Camping, Event, Retreat or
Seasonal fee, in whole or in part, from any other person by Bambi shall not be deemed to be
a waiver of any of the provisions of this agreement or to be consent to the assignment or
rental.
7. Bambi will not refund any portion of a Camping, Event, Retreat or Seasonal fee if Campers
decides to leave the camp before their contract stay is over.
8. Upon termination of this Agreement, if Camper(s) shall fail to remove from said campsite all
of Camper's personal property, including without limitation the unit, deck, porch, shed,
gazebo, etc. Bambi Lake shall have the right to remove the same from said campsite.
Camper grants Bambi a lien upon said personal property for the actual and reasonable
costs of removal and storage. The storage fee shall be $10.00 (plus tax) per day or portion
thereof.
9. Camper may not sell personal property or merchandise without express written consent from
Bambi Lake Management. (Please contact Bambi Lake Management about Merchandising
Contract)
10. Camper shall pay all costs, expenses and reasonable attorneys' fees that may be incurred
or paid by Bambi in enforcing the terms of this Agreement, unless otherwise prohibited by
law.
11. Guns or weapons of any sort are strictly prohibited in any public area of Bambi Lake. Guns
must be locked up at all times while not in use or in transit.
12. Alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are not permitted on Bambi Lake property.
13. Snowmobiles/four-wheelers/ORV’s may not be operated on Bambi Lake property for
recreational use by guests. Said vehicles are permitted to enter/exit the property on
established roadways and obey posted speed limits within the camp.
14. Guests may not discharge fireworks anywhere on Bambi Lake property.
15. Malicious destruction of Bambi Lake property, excessive littering (silly string, shaving cream,
etc.) or theft of recreational or other equipment may result in additional charges to the
Camper or Group.
16. No littering. Please use your own garbage cans, or trash receptacles that are available
throughout the park.
17. No trees or other landscaping, may be moved or removed without park management
approval.
18. There is no smoking in any of the buildings on Bambi Lake property. (this includes
Cigarettes, Cigars, Marijuana, E-cigs, other tobacco products, etc.)
19. Guests in violation/possession will be asked to leave the property.
20. All non and for-profit entities desiring to sell merchandise at Bambi Lake must complete the
Merchandising Contract.
21. Photos taken during your stay may be used in promotional pieces.
22. Please take care of Bambi Property, return Equipment to where you found it and report
damage if found. We offer boats, life jackets, fishing equipment, putt putt, bikes, helmets
balls and much more for no extra cost to Campers. By taking good care of the equipment
returning things to their rightful place and reporting damage quickly you help us keep costs
low and allow us to offer these things at no cost to you.
23. There will be no burning of any materials other than firewood. No machined, manufactured
or treated wood products are permitted for burning.
24. There are NO fires on the beach
25. ALL campfires must be in fire rings. Fires will ONLY be allowed in predesignated fire rings at
a Camper’s site or other designated fire rings around the camp.
26. You are responsible for collecting and keeping track of all personal property. Any personal
property at the Worship Center, Dining Room, Waterfront, Family Room, Game Room,
Bathrooms, Bathhouse, Camp Sites, Lodging, etc, will be collected at the next scheduled
cleaning time and held in lost and found for 14 days then discarded.
27. Bambi’s property lines are not clearly marked. However, we ask to make every effort to not
trespass on any of the surrounding neighboring properties. This can be accomplished by
staying on marked trails and roads or asking Bambi staff when in destination is in question.
There is no trespassing on other seasonal sites, campsite or other lodging rooms unless
permission has been received by campers renting those sites or rooms, or with Bambi
Management permission.
PETS
1. Pets are permitted at Bambi Lake. All pets must be on a leash (6ft or less) at all times unless
in the campers Unit or pet approved lodging. (Pets are only welcome in designated areas and
are not permitted in any Bambi Lake building without the permission of Management.)
2. Never leave pets unattended.
3. Dog runs or kennels outside of lodging or on a Camper's campsite are prohibited.
4. Pets are not permitted to sleep in cages, kennels or “tied up” outside of the Campers Unit.
5. No pets are allowed in the water at the waterfront or in the beach area at the waterfront.
6. All animal waste must be picked up immediately and placed in a sealed plastic bag and
disposed of in your own trash can or in one of Bambi's main dumpsters.
7. All Bambi, dog friendly, lodging is subject to an additional cleaning fee of $25. (Please ask for
available options at the front desk.)
8. Service Animals are welcome at Bambi. (Kindly notify the office in advance if service and/or emotional support
animals will be present.)
9. Service Animals must remain with the person being assisted and be leashed or harnessed
at all times when out of the Campers lodging unit, no exceptions.
10. Service Animals are not permitted in the dining area during food service hours. (3hr before and
1hr after mealtimes)
11. Any Service Animal deemed not acting in a way that is congruent with their training/ purpose
or becomes dangerous to other campers, including allergic reaction, will forfeit any and all
rights expressly set forth in this agreement and management will ask for the animal to be
detained for the remainder of the stay. Failure to comply will result in the need to remove the
animal from the camp.
CAMPGROUND ACCOMMODATIONS
1. A Unit is defined as a Class A, B, or C - RV Motorhomes, Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Pop-
up Campers or Commercially Manufactured Tent. Cozy Cabins, White Oak and Notatent
Nook are considered Bambi supplied Camping Units
2. All Units must be in good condition prior to locating it on a seasonal campsite.
3. The water pressure in the park can have variable pressure, it is highly recommended that
the campers have an RV water pressure regulator on their trailer.
4. Placement of the Camper's Unit must be between the sites designated markers
CAMPSITE CAMPERS
1. A CAMPSITE, is defined as a designated area leased to a Camper by Bambi Lake for the
purpose of recreational camping using the Campers personal Unit or Lodging designated for
Camping use by Bambi Lake.
2. Camper has an opportunity to inspect said campsite before acceptence. If Camper set up
camp then Camper determined that said site is suitable for Camper's unit and accepts the
same. Bambi Lake has made no representations or warranties, written or oral, expressed or
implied, concerning said campsite.
3. Campsite is designed for one unit only. With prior Bambi management consent, one
additional Tent may be permitted for not longer than 7 consecutive nights. One Awning and
screen tent, (no larger than 12’x12’) is also permitted, as long as it doesn’t interfere with site
maintenance or other Campers sites.
4. DO NOT DIG ON CAMPSITE!!! Please get approval for ALL campsite improvements from
Bambi Lake Management.
5. All landscaping improvements made to Camper's campsite, such as trees or bushes,
become the property of Bambi.
6. If Camper stores anything under or around their Unit, the Camper must use storage
containers or a neatly organized storage system.
7. For the safety of everyone at Bambi, ALL Campers must observe Posted fire danger levels.
Campers are expected to put out fires before going to bed, and NEVER LEAVE YOUR FIRE
UNATTENDED. Inability to have a fire due to Fire Danger Levels is not acceptable grounds
for cancellation or refunds.
8. Clothes lines are permitted and must be placed high enough so as not to create a hazard.
9. Any garbage cans on Camper's site must have a lid. All garbage must be disposed of in the
park dumpster during their stay and when leaving the park at the end of Camper's stay. A
fee will be charged if Bambi has to clean up Camper's site.
10. Cleaning fish is permitted only on your campsite, or in designated areas. All waste from fish
must be disposed of immediately and appropriately. Campers will NOT clean fish in
bathhouses or restrooms.
11. Camper shall not use said campsite for any illegal activity or activity which would cause
injury to other Campers or damage the reputation of Bambi Lake.
12. Camper states that the unit to be parked on said campsite shall be used exclusively for
camping or recreational purposes and will not be used as Camper's principal residence or
rental property.
13. Camper shall keep said campsite and all personal property located thereon in a state of
cleanliness and healthy sanitation and shall comply with all ordinances, regulations and laws
of Higgins Township, The City of Roscommon, The State of Michigan, and The United
States of America, and any authorized agency of said governmental bodies.
14. Check in starts at 3:00 pm. Check out is 11:00am. Campers may be on camp before and
after their scheduled check in/ check out time to use camp facilities.
15. Quiet hours start at 11pm and end at 8am. All minor campers must be at their campsite or
with their legal guardian after 10pm.
16. Reservations will be taken up to 1 year in advance for campsite and campground lodging
with a deposit equal to 1 night stay in your chosen site.
17. Cancelling your reservation with less than 24 hours notice will result in loss of deposit.
SEASONALS CAMPERS (additional stipulations)
1. Seasonal Camper(s) are responsible for keeping said site maintained in a clean, neat, and
safe condition at all times, which includes regular lawn cutting and policing of the site. If
Camper is unable to come to the park for an extended period of time, the campsite lawn will
be cut, if necessary, for a reasonable fee. Lawn-cutting service is available— Camper can
schedule it at the park office. If Camper fails to maintain said campsite, Bambi will give
Camper 10-day notice. If campsite is not maintained, Bambi shall charge the Camper a $30
maintenance charge for each occurrence.
2. No trees or other landscaping may be moved or removed without park management
approval.
3. All structures that are erected on your campsite (including but not limited to storage sheds,
skirting and decks) must be approved prior to installation by Bambi– no exceptions. Upon
prior written consent of Bambi, the following requirements are applicable to any
construction:
a. Must not encroach on any other site.
b. Plans must be submitted to management and be pre-approved.
c. Camper is responsible for maintaining any erected structure on their site and may be asked
to remove structure if not properly maintained.
d. All construction (new and remodel) shall have applicable permits from the township and
county, if necessary.
e. NO Permanent Structures allowed
4. Camper shall leave said campsite in a condition consider to be as good or the same as it
was at the signing of this Agreement with ordinary wear and tear excused. All improvements
to the campsite made by Bambi must remain intact upon exit.
5. Camper shall possess and maintain personal liability, and other insurances upon their
personal property situated upon said campsite. Insurance should cover all campers acts or
omissions occurring while occupying said campsite in amounts acceptable to Bambi.
($50,000) Policy information should not be unreasonably withheld. Within ten (10) days of
written demand by Bambi, Camper shall provide evidence to Bambi of said insurance being
in full force and effect. (proof of insurance must be submitted yearly with application)
6. Bambi shall not be liable for the loss or damage to any property of Camper, or of visitors, by
interruption of electrical service, by theft or otherwise, or by trees, bushes or other growing
vegetation. Bambi shall not be liable for any damage caused by or arising as a result of acts
or omissions by occupants, Campers or Visitors of adjacent campsites or their property or
the public, or caused by operation and construction of any private, public or quasi-public
work.
LODGING
1. Lodging, is defined as designated housing leased to Camper(s) or volunteers, by Bambi
Lake, while participating in recreation or service at Bambi Lake.
2. Check in starts at 3:00 pm. Check out is 11:00am. Campers may be on camp before and
after their scheduled check in/ check out time to use camp facilities.
3. Towels, washcloths, sheet set, blanket, pillow, and pillowcase are provided for each
registered camper. (bathroom towels are not permitted to be used for swimming.)
4. Campers are expected to provide their own Beach towels. (In the event that a camper’s towels is
lost or forgotten, beach towels are available for rent or purchase at the Front Desk)
5. When checking out:
a. Please place used sheets in the used pillowcase. (blankets, pillows and comforters can remain on the
bed)
b. Leave wet towels hanging in the bathroom.
6. Cooking is not allowed in guest rooms, cabin, or chalets.
7. If you need to rearrange the furniture or equipment, please notify camp staff. Then, return
things to their original positions before departure.
8. Please do not hang things on walls.
9. Quiet hours start at 10pm and end at 8am. All minor campers must be in their rooms or with
their legal guardian during quiet hours. Any group activities after 10pm must be held in the
Family Room or Game Room.
VISITORS
1. Guests of campers are welcome. There is no fee for guests. However, Bambi is a year-
round, full operational youth camp. Therefore, Bambi must know who is on the premises at
all times. All guests and guest vehicles must be registered at the park office. Campers are
responsible for this registration. Please do not abuse this privilege. Bambi reserves the right
to limit number of guests per site. (State law limits overnight guests to 8 campers per site.)
2. If said guests fail to register with Bambi, there shall be charged to Camper of $10.00 per day
for each guest. Said fee shall be due and payable upon request and without notice.
3. None of Camper's guests may stay or visit the campground unless one adult family member
(21 years old or older), on the original registration form, is present at visitor registration and
during their stay.
DAY USE PASSES
1. Day passes to Bambi Lake are available to the community for $25 per family up to 6 people
with an additional $5 per person beyond 6.
2. All Day pass campers must adhere to all Camp policy regardless of length of stay.
3. Day use passes are not available during certain scheduled events please contact the front
desk to check your dates before you arrive.
4. Day use camp admission opens at 10am and closes at 9pm.
5. All day use campers must check in at the front desk before using the camp and check out
upon departure.
VEHICLES AND PARKING
1. Speed limit at Bambi is strictly enforced at 10 mph for all motorized vehicles. All vehicles
and guest vehicles must be parked on Camper's campsite, or in designated visitor parking
areas.
2. Prior to Camper operating a golf cart or ATV on Bambi property, Camper must show Bambi
proof of Liability, Homeowners, Car, or Renter's liability insurance. Proof of insurance shall
be furnished annually. No golf carts or ATVs may be operated after dusk unless they are
equipped with adequate lights. No Golf Carts or ATVs should be operated after 10:00pm.
Only licensed drivers should operate said golf cart or ATV on camp. Golf carts and ATVs
must be properly maintained at all times.
3. Due to emergency vehicle and Maintenance access, there is no parking on any of the park
roads at any time.
4. If you have a Boat, your boat must be parked on your campsite.
5. Bambi will provide overflow parking on an as needed, temporary basis at Bambi's discretion.
RECREATION FACILITIES
4. Bambi Lake is a year-round, full operational youth camp and considered a multi-use facility.
Therefore, at various times, different amenities may be unavailable or restricted from use.
Please refer to the front desk or other posted event schedules to determine the best times to
plan your activities.
5. Bambi Lake allows free use of recreational equipment for the pleasure and convenience of
its guests. Please remember to respect and return all equipment to its rightful place so that
other campers can enjoy the camp and we can maintain this system. Please report any
damage to equipment or facilities as soon as possible for repair or replacement.
6. The park provides a Men's and Women's bathhouse that includes sinks, toilets, showers and
baby-changing station in the campground as well as in the basement of the lodge. (when
events are not in session)
7. The park provides a pavilion for camp activities. It can be specifically rented for individual
parties. (for a nominal fee)
8. The playground is closed after dark.
9. The waterfront is closed after dark.
10. Modest and respectable clothing and swimwear is expected at all times. If Bambi deems
someone’s clothing to be inappropriate, Management may ask the Camper, Campers family
member or visitor to return to their campsite until modest.
11. There are NO LIFEGUARDS at Bambi Lake. Camper specifically acknowledges that Bambi
does not maintain a lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk. On behalf of Camper and their
children, guests and any other persons associated with the Camper, the Camper assumes
full responsibility for their safety while using the Lake, swim areas, beach area, boats and
Bambi Booyah and any of the park recreation equipment.
12. In the swimming area, children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult
guardian. Diving, running, pushing, rough housing, or foul language will not be tolerated.
Violators could be banned from the waterfront area or other recreation areas for the
remainder of their stay at Bambi Lake.
13. A life jacket is required for all boating activities.
14. Watercraft must be returned to the boathouse dock, removed from the water, and placed on
racks or flipped bottom side up off the beach. Life vests must be hung in the boathouse
when not in use.
15. No license is required for fishing.
16. Fishing is permitted as catch and release. Fish being prepared and eaten at the camp is the
exception to the catch and release rule.
17. Fishing is not permitted in the designated swimming area.
18. All high adventure activities are scheduled and operated by Bambi Lake Staff and Trained
Waterfront Observers. Campers are not permitted to use these designated areas or
equipment on their own. (ie. The Bambi Booyah, Hayride, Archery, Monster Hill, etc.)
EVENTS
1. All Bambi events are contract based and the terms and conditions are negotiable.
2. All campers are still responsible for Bambi Lake terms and conditions unless an event
contract specifically addresses, changes or voids the terms here in.
3. Any Event that chooses to cancel must notify Bambi Lake at least 90 days before the event
start date. Failure to do so will result in the loss of all deposited funds. To prevent the loss of
deposit, the event can be rescheduled within the same calendar year, pending availability.
4. Only painter’s tape may be used to tape things on walls.
5. If you need to rearrange the furniture or equipment, please notify camp staff. Then, return
things to their original positions before departure.
6. Terms and conditions of individual events, ie, pricing, early bird pricing, late registration,
room and housing locations are all subject to approval by Bambi Lake Management. If these
terms are not expressly laid out in your event contract then Bambi will default to their
standard practices.
FOOD SERVICE POLICIES
1. The number of meals provided for guests’ meals determined on a per contract basis.
2. Meals may be served at any time. If we do not receive your final schedule at least 10
days in advance, we will schedule your meals to our default serving schedule:
a. Breakfast 8:30- 9:30 a.m.
b. Lunch 12:30- 1:30 p.m.
c. Dinner 6:00-7:00 p.m.
(Meals will be served for the first 30 minutes. Please encourage your attendees to arrive promptly.)
3. Except for the first day of camp, there are no provisions made for guests arriving in
the cafeteria after serving time.
4. On arrival night, food service will be available to late arrivals if notice is received
prior to 5:30 p.m. A box dinner will be prepared from that nights food offerings.

5. There will be no adjustment made to event rates for missed meals.
6. We will gladly accommodate most dietary and allergy needs, but we need to know
14 days prior to your event. Please note your concerns at registration or with your
event coordinator.
7. Bambi will plan your menu for you for you as part of your package price. You can
also Tailor your menu to your liking, choosing every meal. (custom menu must be
submitted before event contract is signed.)
8. Standard food service is limited to the Dining Hall. Special meals can be arranged to
be cooked/served in the campground pavilion or down by the lake.
9. Our commercial kitchen facilities are not available for guest use. There are some
buildings for rent on the camp which have kitchen facilities for families or small
groups.
10. Drinks or snacks can be available during group meetings upon request.
11. Food, trays, plates, cups, silverware, etc. should not be taken out of the dining room.
SNACK SHACK POLICIES
1. The shops will be open as agreed in event contract.
2. Gift certificates and Coupons are available for purchase and can be made available
to your guests and added to any event package.
EVENT INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Schedule—Please send a preliminary schedule as soon as possible. Be sure to
include the meals and retail shops, listing specific opening and closing times. A final
schedule is due at least 10 business days in advance.
2. Numbers— Please let us know at least 10 business days in advance what your final
guest count will be. (please review our registration and cancelation policy)
3. Conference Room Needs—Please let us know how many and which conference
rooms you need and how you would like them set up PRIOR to signing your event
contract.
4. Equipment— Please let us know if you have any special equipment needs (tv’s
computers sound equipment and other tech) and if you need and operator at least
10 business days in advance.
5. Background Checks-- During any children’s events (events where parents are not
attending with their children), Bambi Lake requires background checks be performed
on all adults on the camp. As a result, private/campground attendees and attendees
of events that are happening in tandem with a children’s event, will need to have a
background check on file when on camp during these events. No other outside
guests are allowed during Youth/Kids camps unless prior arrangements have been
made and a background check is provided. These can be run at check in or when
making your reservation.
INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY
1. Standard practice is for individual attendees to pay their own deposit for events. If
your organization schedules an event and would prefer to handle all of the deposits
and event fees then a custom registration, deposit and cancelation policy will be
contained in you
2. A deposit of $50 per person is due at time of reservation. No room will be reserved
until the registration fee is received.
3. Deposit may be paid collectively by the sponsoring organization. (these terms must
be laid out in your event contract.)
4. Upon arrival, the deposit fee will be subtracted from the total due.
5. In the event of an individual cancellation the deposit is fully refundable if notice of
cancellation is received at least 14 days in advance.
