Barkerville Accommodations, Barkerville, British Columbia

Payment

Payment for your reservation is due at the time of booking. A non-refundable $5.00 booking fee is charged on each reservation.

Cancellation Policy

Guests can cancel their booking up to 30 days before check-in and receive a full refund, except for the non-refundable $5.00 booking fee.

For cancellations between seven and 30 days before check-in, guests will receive a 50% refund of the total booking amount.

There are no refunds for cancellations made less than seven days prior to check-in.

No-Shows

If you do not arrive by 11am the day after your check-in date, you will be marked as a 'No-show'. If by this time you are marked as a 'No-show' with no communication, your reservation will be cancelled without refund and your booking will be made available to another guest. Please contact us by email at accommodation@barkerville.ca if you are delayed in your arrival.

Damage Deposit and Cleaning

We require a $250.00 damage deposit for each accommodation, which will be fully refunded if the property is left in suitable condition. This charge is sent separately from your booking prior to your check-in. Please keep the property clean and tidy during your stay. If the property is left excessively dirty, a cleaning fee will be withheld from the refund of your damage deposit. If you notice any damages or issues, please report them to us immediately.

Check-In and Check-Out

Check in at 4:00 pm, check out at 10:00 am.

On the morning of your check-in, we will send the access codes for your accommodation to the email address associated with your booking.

Locations

  • The cottages are located at the north end of the Barkerville overflow parking lot, at the entrance to Reduction Road.
  • The King Guest House is located on Barkerville's Main Street to the southeast of St. Saviour's Anglican Church.
  • The Kelly Guest House is located on Barkerville's middle street directly behind the St. George Hotel.
  • Free public Wi-Fi is offered to Barkerville guests, but be aware that Barkerville is not in range of cell phone service.

Occupancy and Parking

The Barkerville Accommodations are for recreational and tourism use only; no workplace bookings are permitted. No commercial re-selling of our cottages and guest houses is permitted. 

Only one family group, to a maximum of 6 people per accommodation. At least one member of the party must be 16 years of age or older and supply us with contact information for the party. 

Parking is available at the Cottages. Please note that the King and Kelly Guest Houses are pedestrian access ONLY, there is NO drop off or parking available. Parking is available in the 24 hour monitored guest parking lot. There is NO snowmobile access to the Kelly House.

Pets

Pets are welcome in Cottages #3 and #4 (sorry, no pets in Cottages #1 and #2, or the King and Kelly Guest Houses). An additional pet fee of $25 per night, per cottage applies. A maximum of two pets are permitted in our pet-friendly cottages at a time. Pets are not permitted on the furniture, including couches or beds. Pets left unattended in the cottages must be secured in a proper pet crate or carrier. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets on cottage grounds and properly disposing of the waste. Damages or excessive cleaning caused by pets to the pet-friendly cottages may result in additional fees.

Day use dog kennels are available for rent at the Barkerville Welcome Centre.

Fire

Campfires, fireworks and firearms are not permitted. Fires of any kind are not permitted within the historic zone of Barkerville.

Please turn off all lights and appliances when leaving the property.

Noise and Generators

Music may only be played at level where it is only audible to the party at the accommodation and does not disturb other guests. Strict quiet hours are in effect 10:30 pm to 7:30 am. No parties or events are allowed on the property. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM. No visitors are permitted during quiet hours. Please respect our neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum, especially during quiet hours. Generators use is only permitted between the hours of 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Smoking and Alcohol

Smoking of any kind is prohibited within the accommodations and within the historic zone of Barkerville and only permitted in designated areas. Alcohol consumption while outdoors is prohibited and is only allowed within your overnight accommodation or at licensed premises within Barkerville Historic Town & Park .Excessive consumption which causes a disturbance to other guests is prohibited.

Wildlife and Wilderness Safety

While Barkerville may welcome thousands of visitors in a season, it is important to remember that is still a wilderness area:

  • Always communicate your travel plans with an emergency contact. Remember that there is no cell service in the Barkerville area.
  • Take extra caution in day use areas and on hiking trails to reduce risk and avoid injury. 
  • Recreate within your skill level so as not to put others in emergency response, search and rescue and our health care system at risk.
  • Younger children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Wildlife attractants such as food and drinks must be securely stored in locked vehicles or the accommodations when guests are not present at the accommodation.

For in-person inquiries, please visit the Welcome Centre in Barkerville Historic Town & Park 9:00am-6:00pm daily.

In the event of emergency outside of Welcome Centre hours, security is available 24/7 via a two-way radio located on the eastern exterior wall of the Barkerville Welcome Centre, next to the Security Office.
