Pet Policy

Pets who are quiet and cleaned up after are welcome in the campground; they must be leashed or tethered at all times when outside. The use of electric collars to contain your pet without the use of a leash or tether is prohibited. Black Hills Trailside Park has a two pet maximum. The campground has provided three (3) doggie stations with bags for you to pick up after your pets.

Leaving pets unattended in RVs during the day is highly discouraged. Leaving unattended pets leashed outside anywhere in the campground is not allowed.

Those pets who are aggressive or bark excessively will be asked to be removed from the campground immediately. Black Hills Trailside Park Resort reserves discretion to ask pets to be removed who have shown to be dangerous or a nuisance.

There are 2 pet-friendly cabins – Triumph Elm and Blue Wood. At the time of reservation, guests reserving these cabins and bringing pets will be assessed a $100 pet deposit. Guests will be responsible for a $50 cleaning fee at the time of departure. If damages or excessive cleaning are necessary, the deposit will be held. Pet owners are liable for damages that exceed the deposit amount.

A non-refundable fee of $250 will be assessed if there is evidence that a pet stayed in any other cabin.

If you have any concerns about these policies, please call our office at (605) 574-9079, so we can answer your questions.

TENTS

Two (2) tents are allowed per tent site, in the grass. Base price includes 4 guests per site (2 adults/2 children). If additional guests will be joining, there will be a charge per person ages 12 and older up to a total of 6 guests per site. Vehicles should be parked back from designated tent areas. Use of the shower house is included with stay. The use of tents at any of our RV sites on the grass is prohibited.

CAMPFIRES

Campfires must be in the designated fire rings. Please do not move the fire rings. Attend the campfire at all times. If leaving, put the fire out first. There are shared fire rings for some cabins, away from trees, due to safety concerns.  Firewood is available at the office for $10 a bundle.

Fireworks

Fireworks are illegal in the Black Hills National Forest and are also not permitted at the Resort.

Gray Water

Gray water cannot be released on the ground. Please use your site sewer or the onsite dump station.

Cabins

Our cabins are furnished with linens, shower & restroom, cable TV, WiFi, microwave, coffeepot & coffee, dorm-size refrigerator, deck, and barbeque grill. Dishes and utensils are not provided.  All cabins are non-smoking. We have two (2) pet friendly cabins, please call our office to reserve them.

RVs & Vehicles

Please take care of your RV awnings when leaving for the day. At times, this area of the Black Hills gets strong winds or hail. Please be careful pulling in or out of spaces to avoid running over and damaging utility hookups. Please, refrain from parking trailers, UTVs, or vehicles on grass. The water pressure is very high. Adjust it at the spigot and the use of a water pressure regulator is recommended. Guests are responsible for damages.

All motorized vehicles, including UTVs, must be driven by a licensed driver. Please drive slowly through the resort, 15 mph recommended. All vehicles must remain on gravel, no parking on grass. We take great pride in a manicured lawn. Parking for trailers and spare vehicles are allowed in the overflow parking area.

Trash Disposal

To help keep the park clean and safe, please dispose of all trash in designated trash cans or dumpsters located throughout the park. Do not burn or leave trash in the fire rings.

Damages

Customers will be held responsible for any theft of Resort property. Damages to property will result in customer liability for the cost of repairs or replacement.
