Important Resort Guest Information

Welcome to Platte River Fort Resort, we are a natural, DRY CAMPING ONLY campground! We are happy you are here and hope you have a wonderful stay with us. To ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests please abide by the following guideline

Please read our liability waiver in full and always be alert to your surroundings. Completed reservations assume binding acceptance of all Terms & Conditions and the Liability Waiver.

Platte River Fort is an Agricultural Recreation facility and provides Agritourism Activities.

Platte River Fort does not provide full-hook ups, sewer, electricity, etc. We are a DRY CAMPING ONLY resort. We do allow generators to be        used while staying with us. Please be courteous of the amount of noise your generator makes, in respect to the other campers nearby. 

WARNING: UNDER COLORADO LAW, THERE IS NO LIABILITY FOR THE DEATH OF OR INJURY TO A PARTICIPANT IN AN AGRICULTURAL RECREATION OR AGRITOURISM ACTIVITY RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF THE AGRICULTURAL RECREATION OR AGRITOURISM ACTIVITY, PURSUANT TO SECTION 13-21-121, COLORADO REVISED STATUTES.

GENERAL RULES:

1.     There is livestock on the property, in addition to wildlife, such as bald eagles, hawks, coyotes, deer, wild turkeys, reptiles and others. Platte River Fort requires you to always provide supervision to children and pets.

2.     Guests are responsible for any damage or injury caused by themselves, their children and/or their pets. If damages occur during your stay, you will be subject to additional damage fees. 

3.     Guest assumes all risks associated with the foregoing and agrees to hold Landlord harmless from and indemnify Landlord against the same.

4.     The resort is not responsible for personal injuries or damage, loss or theft of any personal property or vehicle.

5.     We reserve the right to evict any person(s) who does not comply with the rules and policies.

6.     All guests must register with Platte River Fort upon arrival by express check-in or by texting 970-888-1050 that you have arrived.

7.     Platte River Fort does not allow the delivery of mail or packages to any guests. Guests must make arrangements to have their mail or packages          delivered to a third-party location for pickup.

8.     All Motorhomes, RVs, or Travel Trailers must be in good working order and appearance and must be model year 2010 or newer. (Exceptions              may be made on a case by case basis at their discretion of the General Manager or Owner of Platte River Fort).

9.    We reserve the right to refuse access to any guest(s) whose vehicle is deemed to be unacceptable.

10.  The Glamping area is only for glamping, no additional tents or RVs are allowed in your rented yurt area.

11.  Tent camping is permitted at all RV sites.  Maximum 2 tents per site, with a maximum of 6 people per site, additional people will be charged $10         extra per person, per night. 

12. Our Group Tent Site is limited to 5 tents within the group tenting area, with a maximum number of 10 people within the site, additional people will        be charged $10 extra per person, per night.

13. Maximum of 4 people total at any RV site at any given time, with an additional 2 person with the addition of a tent, for a total of 6 maximum                  people per site, additional people will be charged $10 extra person, per night.

14.  Total number of guests in any site cannot exceed the maximum capacity for that site.

15. Additional guests beyond stated occupancy are not allowed in the Yurts.

16. Visitors are welcome at Hank’s Bar during open hours. Visitors are not allowed at RV sites, tent sites, or for day use. Platte River Fort is                      committed to providing a high quality, sustainable environment for your enjoyment. In order to do so, we must limit occupancy to stated                        maximum occupancy numbers per reserved sites only.

17. Any visitors to Hank’s Bar must park in the designated area.

18. Campfires must be in the rings provided. NEVER leave a fire unattended and extinguish before turning in for the night or leaving your camp site.        Fires will not be permitted if there is a fire ban in place.

19. Cutting of trees or branches is prohibited. Burning anything other than wood is prohibited.

20. Maintenance on RV’s or vehicles on property is not allowed. Please refer to our list of services we can provide at the resort for additional                      information.

21. Washing RV’s or vehicles on property is not allowed.

22. The use of any paint products or chemicals is prohibited.

23. Clotheslines are not allowed.

24. All sites are to be kept neat and clean for the duration of your stay.

25. All trash is to be packed out and disposed of in the trash receptacles in the main parking lot when exiting the campground area.

26. DO NOT leave trash out overnight.

27. Drones or other remote-controlled machines may not be used on the property.

Check-In Time

            We have a strict check-in time between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. If you are

            arriving later, please notify us in advance. Any check-in’s after 8:00 PM will be

            subject to additional charges. We will not accept arrivals after dusk.

Check-Out Time

            Glamping Yurts and Lodging: 10:00 AM

            Camping and Tenting: 2 PM

 

Late Check-Out Policy

            Platte River Fort may be able to arrange a late check-out, if available. Additional fees

            may apply. In order to ensure availability for incoming guests, please plan prompt

            departures.

Safety:

1.  Guests may use the South Platte River for water activities at designated times and locations only. There is NO LIFEGAURD ON DUTY AT THE          RIVER, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. River levels vary and access to the river may not always be available, Platte River Fort will provide river                conditions before or upon arrival.

2.  The use of Firearms of any kind is PROHIBITED on the resort property.

3.  The use of archery, paintball, slingshots, or air guns are PROHIBITED.

4.   Fireworks of any kind are PROHIBITED.

5.   Use of illegal drugs is PROHIBITED.

6.   Smoking of Marijuana and underage drinking is PROHIBITED on resort property.

7.   Obnoxious behavior of ANY kind is PROHIBITED.

8.   Speed limit on property is 5-10 mph.

9.   Bicycles are allowed on the property and must be back at their sites by dark. ATV's, Dirt Bikes and any off road vehicles are not allowed on property at any time during your stay. 

10.  Motorcycles must be in idle speed when traveling through the resort.

11.  Children under 14 years of age must always be accompanied by an adult at the river area and common areas of the resort.

12.  No vehicles can block any portion of roadways.

13.  Vehicles may park in designated spaces only.

14.  Only persons with a valid driver’s license may operate a motor vehicle on the resort property, including golf carts, scooters, etc.

15.  Vandalism of any kind by anyone in your group (regardless of age) may result in eviction from the resort.

Security:

1.  Platte River Fort, LLC. is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles, including, but not limited to damaged caused by natural causes or         acts of God.

2.   Report any problems with your site by testing 970-888-1050 immediately.

3.   We adhere to and maintain all state, county, and local laws and guidelines on the property.

Quiet Hours:

1.   Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Holiday weekends are from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

2.   All Children must be with their parents or guardians at their campsite by 10:00 PM

3.   Please be courteous to other guests around you.

4.   Loud music or objectionable noise is not allowed at any time.

5.   Inconsiderate guests will be evicted for the resort.

6.   Profanity or violence towards other guests or resort staff will result in immediate eviction from the resort and possible notification to local law                enforcement.

7.   Guests violating rules that results in eviction notice will not receive any refunds for their stay.

Pet Policy:

1.    We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose pet is NOT considered suitable to the serenity/safety of our guests or the resort.

2.    Pets must always be kept on a leash and under the control of a responsible adult.

3.    There is a 2-pet limit per site.

4.    No exotic or oversized pets are permitted. This includes all reptiles or large birds.

5.    All pets must be registered with Platte River Fort, before or upon arrival.

6.    Pets may not be left outside unattended and may not be left unattended at ANY TIME in the Glamping Tents.

7.    Guests are responsible to “clean up” after their pets.

8.    Guests should carry proof of pet’s current vaccinations.

9.    Pets are prohibited in the resort buildings and amenity areas.

10.  Resort is not responsible for and will hold pet owners accountable for any injury or damage caused by pet(s).

11.   Service animals are allowed without any proof of disability or certification for the service animal.

12.  There will be an additional, non-refundable pet fee of $30.00 per day when renting any of the Glamping Yurts. If your pet causes damage while            staying on property, you will be subject to additional fees. If you fail to include your pet(s) while making your reservation and you proceed to 
        bring them with your for your stay, you will automatically be charged $40/night in non-refundable pet fees.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

PLEASE READ CAFEFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND WAIVER OF CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS.

 WARNING: UNDER COLORADO LAW, THERE IS NO LIABILITY FOR THE DEATH OF OR INJURY TO A PARTICIPANT IN AN AGRICULTURAL RECREATION OR AGRITOURISM ACTIVITY RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF THE AGRICULTURAL RECREATION OR AGRITOURISM ACTIVITY, PURSUANT TO SECTION 13-21-121, COLORADO REVISED STATUTES.

 Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton & DeJong, LLC operates and owns an Agricultural Recreation facility and provides Agritourism Activities.

 “Participant,” means the undersigned, being at least 18 years old, or a minor (under 18) and the minor’s parent or legal guardian signing on behalf of both himself/herself and the minor (collectively and individually referred to herein as “I” or “undersigned”).

I have voluntarily applied to enter onto and to engage in or to observe Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities including but not limited to: fishing, tubing, swimming, hayrides, lawn games, and/or other agritourism activities at the Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton & DeJong, LLC located at 22999 Hwy 34 Greeley, Colorado, 80631 and 23251 Hwy 34 Greeley, Colorado, 80631. I further acknowledge and understand that Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities include any and all activities of any kind whatsoever in which I engage in    or observe while on the property abo ve whether sponsored by the Platte River Fort, LLC and/or Carleton & DeJong, LLC or not.

By signing this Agreement, I acknowledge and understand (and, if applicable, Parent or Legal Guardian acknowledges on behalf of Minor and agrees to explain to Minor) the following:

1.    I UNDERSTAND THAT AGRICULTURAL RECREATION AND AGRITOURISM ACTIVITIES INCLUDING, BUT NO LIMITED TO: FISHING, TUBING, SWIMMING, HAYRIDES, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS   and involve both known, unknown  and unanticipated  risks  which  could  result  in  damage or destruction of property and physical or emotional injury, including paralysis or death, of myself or of other persons. The risks include, but are not limited to being struck by flying or falling  objects;  drowning;  falling; being  bitten  by  domesticated  or  undomesticated  animals  and others.  I  understand  that  such   risks   cannot be eliminated without compromising the essential qualities of Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities.

 

2. I UNDERSTAND THAT the nature and condition of the Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton &  DeJong, LLC premises and environment is such that both known, unknown and unanticipated hazards  exist  which create or contribute to both known, unknown and unanticipated risks inherent in entering on to the  premises, in using its facilities and in engaging in or observing any activities of any kind whatsoever while at the Platte River Fort or the Platte River Guesthouse and Campgrounds. The hazards include, but are not limited to: slippery, loose or falling soil and rocks; unimproved, unmaintained, or uneven terrain, walkways, steps and roads; poisonous or dangerous plants, reptiles, insects and other  animals;  and  falling  trees  and  tree  branches. I  understand  that such  hazards  and  risks cannot  be  eliminated  without  compromising  the   essential qualities of the Platte River Fort facilities, equipment, premises and environment.

3. I UNDERSTAND THAT Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton & DeJong, LLC has no duty to undertake first-aid or rescue operations or procedures in the event any such property damage or physical or emotional injury occurs, and that in the event Platte River Fort and Carleton & DeJong owners, employees and/or agents undertake any such operations or procedures the same may result in compounded or increased damages or injuries.

4. I UNDERSTAND THAT  Platte  River  Fort,  LLC  and  Carleton  &  DeJong,  LLC  make  no warranty as to the design, manufacture, maintenance, condition or fitness for any particular purpose of any facilities or equipment, including, but not limited to: physical structures, tubes, and first-aid supplies.

5. I ACKNOWLEDGE the general risks described above and the inherent risks  associated  with Agricultural Recreation and Agritourism Activities and as a condition of participation, I AGREE (and, if applicable, Parent or Legal Guardian agrees on behalf of minor) to:

a.    ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS OF INJURY OR DEATH to the Participant while or as a result  of participating, engaging in or observing any Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities including but not limited to: fishing, tubing, swimming, hayrides, lawn games, and/or other agritourism activities at the Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton & DeJong, LLC located at 22999 Hwy 34 Greeley, Colorado, 80631 and 23251 Hwy 34 Greeley, Colorado, 80631.

b.    RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS and NOT SUE, MAKE ANY CLAIMS OR FILE ANY ACTIONS against Platte River Fort, LLC or Carleton & DeJong, LLC, it’s insurance carriers,  affiliates, officers, directors, instructors, representatives, assignees, employees, volunteers, or sponsors (the “Indemnified Parties”) that are based on or that result from, in whole or in part, participation in Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities;

c.      INDEMNIFY and DEFEND THE INDEMNIFIED PARTIES FROM ANY LIABILITY, claims, demands, actions, and causes of actions whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury, including death, that may be sustained by Participant or caused to others or their property by Participant while taking part in any Activity, including, but not limited  to,  those injuries and  damages caused by  negligence  and/or breach of warranty, express or implied, on the part of the Indemnified Parties.

d.    PAY ALL COSTS including attorney’s fees incurred by any Indemnified Party in defending a claim or suit brought by or on behalf of Undersigned.

6. I AGREE to assume all responsibility and liability for any act or acts, even any negligent, reckless or criminal act or omission to act, of myself and my guests at the Platte River Fort (I understand that “my guests” includes any and all persons who enter on to the Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton & DeJong, LLC  premises, use the facilities or engage in or observe any Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities as a result of my express invitation, permission or consent). I  agree that I  will ensure that each of  my guests read and sign an official Platte River Fort, LLC and Carleton & DeJong, LLC “Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability & Indemnity Agreement.”

7. I AGREE to abide by all Platte River Fort LLC, and Carleton & DeJong, LLC activity rules and ensure that my guests do so as well. I have been made aware of Platte River Fort's river rules and understand that any river activities are done at my own risk and at my guests own risk. **Please read River Rules at the bottom of this waiver.

8.   I CERTIFY THAT I am not a fugitive from justice or under indictment.  I have not been convicted of a felony, misdemeanor or any crime. I am not drug or alcohol dependent; I am not under adjudication of  mental incompetence; I have not been convicted of domestic violence.

9.  I  AGREE  THAT  ALL Claims for injury to  person or  property and/or death arising  from my    and/or Minor’s participation in or observation of any Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism Activities including but not limited to: fishing, tubing, swimming, hayrides, lawn games, and/or other agritourism activities shall be GOVERNED BY COLORADO LAW and EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION shall be the District Court residing where the alleged incident occurred or in Federal Court for the District of Colorado.

10. I  AGREE  THAT  this  Agreement, and  any  signed  written  amendments or  modifications  to  it, shall remain in full force and effect from the date of execution and ever after and shall be applicable to each and every occasion that I or my Guests enter on to the Platte River Fort or Carleton & DeJong, LLC premises, use  the facilities or equipment or engage in or observe any Agricultural Recreation or Agritourism.

11. I AGREE THAT this Agreement shall be binding  to  the  full  extent permitted by  law.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms shall be enforceable. The undersigned parent or legal guardian acknowledges that he/she is also signing this Agreement on behalf of Minor and that Minor shall be bound by all the terms of the Agreement. The Undersigned understands  and  agrees  that if this Agreement is not signed on behalf of Minor, the Minor will not be permitted to participate in the Activity/Activities. This Agreement shall be binding upon Undersigned’s assignees, subrogors, heirs, next of kin, executors and personal representatives.

Platte River Fort's, South Platte River Guidelines

 

South Platte River Guidelines- The South Platte River is a running river and depending on the time of year, the depth of the water and speed of the current can change dramatically. In accordance with county laws and for the safety of our guests, we base river access on the current river flow and depth. Please see guidelines below.

750-1000 cfs              Use extreme caution. No tubing or swimming. River access is at the discretion of Platte River Fort                                             

1000 csf                      River closed to guests. No tubing. Guided trips only. Check with local river outfitters for their policies.

***A LIFE JACKET IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES FOR PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 8 WHEN THE FLOW RATE IS ABOVE 500 CFS AND/OR OVER 2.5 FT.  LIFE JACKETS ARE REQUIRED OF ALL PERSONS WHEN THE FLOW RATE IS ABOVE 750 CFS OR 3.5 FT. You can find the flow report at the link below.

Platte River Fort Cancellation/Refund Policy

 

Time of Booking to 22 Days Out: Full refund minus cancellation fees

21-8 Days out: 50% Refund

7-0 days out: No Refund

At any time you may put 100% of your reservation fees in Camp Credit to use at another time. 

 

Undersigned has carefully read this agreement, understand its contents, including our Cancellation Policy, and signs it with full knowledge of its significance.
