Directions / What is provided / Suggestions to bring

Thank you for thinking of Postill Lake Lodge and booking your accommodations with us.  Please read this carefully and if there are any discrepancies or questions, please phone (250) 766-6169or reply to this email.

Check-in is 3PM to 8PM

Check-out is 11AM

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: DO NOT follow GPS or Google map directions as most are not correct.  Turn onto Old Vernon Road at the north end of the airport runway.  Turn right at the 3 way stop.  Turn left onto Postill Drive.  Turn left onto Postill Lake Road.  At the intersection of Farmers Drive and the gravel road, take the gravel road.  You will travel 15 kms on this gravel road, up to an altitude of about 4800’, and find us at the end of the road on Postill Lake.

There are three types of cabins – Cottages, Cabins and Rustic Cabins.  The features unique to them are below.  And the features that apply to all cabins are below that.  And at the bottom is a suggested list of items to bring.

Cottages:

·       The Cottages (5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15) have Hot and Cold running water and full bathrooms including stand up showers. 

·       The cottages have fridges (apartment sized).  You’re welcome bring coolers, and we do sell ice.

·       Your Cottage has a full sized propane stove with oven.

·       Two parking passes are included. Additional Vehicles may be stored in the upper Parking Lot with the purchase of a Parking Pass. 

·       Trailers should be stored in the upper Parking Lot.

Cabins (2,3,4)

The Cabins have Cold Running water and Toilets. Showers are available at the lodge and require a loonie from before 2012. Available at the office if you need.

The Cabins have Propane Cook tops and Oven.

·       A parking pass is included. Additional Vehicles may be stored in the upper Lot Parking Lot with the purchase of a Parking Pass. 

·       Trailers should be stored in the upper Parking Lot.

Rustic Cabins (1,7,8,9)

The Rustic Cabins have NO running water. There are outhouses close by or the lodge has flush toilets and Hot Showers.

·       A parking pass is included. Additional Vehicles may be stored in the upper Lot Parking Lot with the purchase of a Parking Pass. 

·       Trailers should be stored in the upper Parking Lot.

Applies to all Cottages and Cabins:

All units have a wood burning stove for heat and wood for the stove is supplied.  Bring your own axe if you have one. Wood for an outdoor fire is not included and please do not use the stove wood for the outside firepit.  Firewood is available to purchase for the outdoor fires.

Quiet time is 11 pm.

Please purchase angling licenses prior to arrival.  We do NOT sell them here.

If you bring a pet, he or she must be on leash or tied at all times.  Please keep them off of the furniture, clean up after your pet and keep them quiet.

Rentals are available through the office.

·       Kayaks, Canoes, SUP, Paddle Boards & Pedal Boat
With our Wrist Band Program you can enjoy our kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and the pedal boat. ALL are included in the wrist band program.

Boats -not included in wrist band program.

            Fishing boats and rowboats from $15 per hour to $125 for the day.

Suggested Items to bring:

Please bring your own bedding, towels, dish towels, food and personal items.  All pots, pans, dishes, cutlery etc. are supplied.  Our kitchens are supplied with percolator coffee pots, toasters and kettles for on top of the propane cook stoves.  DO NOT bring curling irons, blow dryers, electric coffee pot, electric toasters, kettles or rice cookers.  Our power will not support these appliances.

24 hour power is supplied for lights.

The Lodge store stocks only minimal groceries such as canned goods, pop, chocolate bars and candy, bug spray, water and ice.  We do carry a good selection of locally hand tied flies and assorted fishing tackle.

As our water is not potable at this time, you can either boil for 2 minutes before drinking or bring your own drinking water.

There is NO cell phone coverage here.  We do offer for purchase limited wifi for emails and Facebook.  It’s satellite based and not functional for downloading.

Miscellaneous Policies and Charges

  • Pets: One well behaved pet per cottage, cabin or campsite, on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pet, keep them quiet and off furniture. (The Pet charge in Cabins and cottages is $7 per day.)
  • Check-In Time is 3PM to 8PM, Check-Out Time is 11AM.
  • Our Gate is Locked from 10PM to 7AM.
  • Bedding is available for $50 per bed per stay.
  • All units are non-smoking.
  • We DO NOT allow tents, trailers or campers to be parked in cabin driveways or around the cabins.
  • Please do not bring glass to the resort – we do not accept glass bottles, jars, etc., for disposal or recycling. If you do bring glass up, please pack it out with you!

Moorage – You are welcome to bring your own boat, but will need to beach the boat. Unfortunately, we do not have spots for you to tie up to at dock.
Day Users – There is a $5 fee per person for use of the resort facilities.  No exceptions!
Extra Parking Passes – $5 per day in the parking lot.
Generator hours – 9am to 11am and 5pm to 7pm – and Only quiet run generators.
Guns – no guns, No Airguns, BB guns, Pellet guns, airsoft guns etc., to be fired or visible at the resort.
ATV’s / Dirt bikes / Quads / OHV’s  – While allowed on premises REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY they are to be driven straight to and from your site to the entrance exit. They are not to be used to drive around the resort. Speed limit is 5MPH!
No Minors – without an Adult Present / No grad parties or similar
