Sumpter RV Park Policies and Rules

Check In / Check Out - Check in is at 1 PM PST and entitles you to your site until 11 AM on the day you are checking out. Early check-in is only permitted if the site is vacant at your time of arrival.  If you will be arriving in the area early, please make other arrangements until your site is vacated. Check out time is 11 AM. You do not need to contact the office for check-out, unless you need to pay for an after-hours check-in.

Late check-ins are allowed until 9 PM.  Please contact the park for instructions.

If you are staying in our park for a month or longer, we require an agreement to be signed.  Please contact the park for more details.

Electric Car Charging - Sumpter RV Park does not have charging stations. Our sites are reserved for camping purposes only. If you reserve a site for the purpose of charging an electric vehicle you will be assessed a $25.00 charging fee.

Site Changes - You have been assigned a specific site, if you wish to move, please check with the office. Due to existing reservations, moving may not be possible. Please inquire before moving sites.

Open Fires – Campfires are only allowed when there is no threat of forest fires.  This is dictated by the local fire officials and Forest Service.  Campfires on the premises are only allowed in fire pits.  Open fires are not allowed in our park.  We have portable fire pits available for guests to rent for the night. Fire pit rental is $2 each per night and you must place the fire pit over the gravel.

Parking - Please do not park your vehicle, trailer, or boat in an adjacent site. Use of more than one site will result in additional charges.

Site and Park Navigation - Please be respectful of your neighbor and do not walk between sites when navigating the park. Please use main roads and designated public paths to walk around the campground.

Washing of RVs, ATVs and Vehicles - Washing of RVs, ATVs or vehicles is only permitted with 1 bucket of water and a sponge. Hose washing is not permitted, as it can result in a mess and disturb your neighbors.

Pet Policies

Disallowed Pets - Our insurance does not allow aggressive breeds of dogs.  Unfortunately, we cannot allow American Staffordshire/Pit Bull Terrier breeds in the park.

Leashes Required - We ask that you keep your pets on a leash at all times when outside of your RV.  Pens are allowed. This helps you; your pet, and other guests and other guests’ pets stay safe.

Buildings - Pets are not allowed in the buildings. County code laws do not allow pets in our buildings.

Cleaning Up After Your Pet - Be a good neighbor.  Please use the gravel roadways to walk your dog(s) and always clean up after your pet(s). Do not let your pet(s) deposit waste on your site or any of our other guests’ sites please. Failure to clean up after your pet will result in you being asked to leave without a refund. Any pet waste found left on your site after you check out will result in a $15.00 clean up fee.

Leaving Pets Unattended - Pets may not be left unattended in our park. Please do not tie your pet to a tree and leave. Leaving your pets unattended is dangerous for your pet as many factors including weather, power outages, etc. can affect your pet’s well-being while you are away.

Pet Vaccinations - Due to Insurance Requirements, all pets must be vaccinated in our park. Please make sure your pet’s shots are up to date.

Barking - Excessive barking is not tolerated and disturbs your neighbors. Please note that excessive barking may result in you being asked to leave without refund.

Local Wildlife - Since we are in a forest, you and your pet(s) may encounter various local wildlife.  Please refrain from approaching these animals while walking your pet(s).  They are wild and may attack if they feel threatened.

Vehicle Policies

Speed Limit - The park’s speed limit is 8.5 mph. This policy is to keep you, your children, and your pets safe. Exceeding this speed limit will result in a warning. Multiple warnings will require us to ask you to leave. Safety is our number one priority for our guests.

Parking - Each paid guest’s registration covers 1 RV, 1 tow vehicle and 1 ATV per site unless noted. There is an additional fee of $5 per day/per extra vehicle. Extra vehicles will need to be parked in the overflow parking spots between the trash dumpster and the carport. Contact the office if this area is full to make arrangements for parking in another location. No parking in common areas. Do not park in the middle of the road. Do not park in sites that you did not reserve.

ATV’s, Dirt Bikes and Motorcycles - OHV’s are welcome onsite but may not be used within the park with the exception of traveling to and from the ATV/Snowmobile trails. Ride slowly – others do not appreciate the dust and dirt.  Anyone under the age of 16, must wear a helmet and have passed the Oregon State test to ride solo. Violation of the ATV, Dirt Bike and Motorcycle rules can result in being asked to leave the park without any refund.

ATVs are now allowed to use the highway between Sawmill Gulch and the bridge in Sumpter.  They are not allowed to use the highway from Sawmill Gulch to the entrance of our park.  ATVs are allowed in town and the speed limit is 15 MPH.  Please be respectful of the residents and their property.

Woodland creatures are attracted to trash or food left out and not disposed of. While we think they are cute and wonderful animals; we don’t want you to find a surprise night visitor at your site because of incorrectly disposed of trash and food scraps. Do not dispose of wires, oil, furniture, mattresses, or any toxic waste or chemicals in our trash dumpster.  Failure to adhere to this rule may result in charges for disposal fees.
