RESERVATION & CANCELLATION Policy

PAYMENT:  Reservations will be paid in full when created.

REFUNDS

  • Reservations cancelled with greater than 24-hours notice will be refunded of all prepaid fees EXCEPT ONE (1) NIGHT. 
  • For reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the first night, will be refunded of all prepaid fees EXCEPT TWO (2) NIGHTS will be issued.
  • No-shows forfeit all prepaid fees.

CHECK-IN/OUT

  • Check-in: 3:00 pm or later on day of arrival. 
  • Check-out: by 12:00 noon on the day of departure.

IRON COUNTY PARK RULES as adopted by the Iron County Forestry and Parks Committee April 11, 2023.

1.                 Fees.  All users of park facilities including parking lots, boat launch, picnic area, pavilion or campground must pay the respective fee (see fee schedule).  Annual park use & launch placards are available at self-pay kiosk by filling out envelope and depositing payment. 

2.                 Registration.  Registration envelopes must be filled out and deposited upon entering the facility.  The detachable tab must be visible in vehicle window at all times.

3.                 Firewood.  All firewood brought in must come from within 25 miles of the campground or purchased from a WI certified firewood seller.

4.                 Campsite Use.  Camping is allowed only at designated campsites.  Only 1 camping trailer, motor home or pickup camper per campsite. One additional tent may be placed on the site.  Limit 6 persons per site unless all are parent(s)/grandparent(s) and their children/grandchildren. Reservations are accepted at www.ironcountyforest.org . Walk-ins must check kiosk for campsite availability.  Maximum stay is 14 nights, then unit must be removed for at least one night.

5.                 Extra Vehicle.  Only two vehicles are allowed per campsite.  A second vehicle must also pay the daily use fee for each day occupied or purchase annual placard.  Please avoid parking on grassy areas.

6.                 Pavilion.  The pavilion may be reserved for use at www.ironcountyforest.org

7.                 Check in/Check out.  Arrival time is 3:00 p.m. Departure time is at 12:00 p.m. on the last day of the stay. 

8.                 Quiet Time & Guests.  Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m.  During this period, generators, musical instruments, stereos, radios, or other sound devices will not be allowed.  All unregistered visitors must depart by 11:00 p.m.  Campers are responsible for their guests and shall be subject to expulsion if guests do not comply with Park rules.

9.                 Children.  Children must be under supervision of a parent or responsible adult at all times.

10.            Speed Limit.  The speed at all times in any County Park is 15 mph unless otherwise posted.  Vehicle use only on designated roads.  Parking only in designated parking areas.  No parking anywhere that may obstruct or limit the use of roads, trails or boat landings.

11.            Pets.  Pets must remain on a leash at all times.  Droppings must be cleaned up immediately and disposed of properly.  Aggressive and/or excessive barking dogs will not be tolerated and may be asked to be removed.

12.            Water.  Hoses or water supply lines shall not be connected to water faucets at Lake of the Falls or Schomberg Park except to fill self-contained tanks.

13.            Trash.  Trash must be deposited in dumpsters or designated trash cans.  Campsites must be kept clean.

14.            Waste disposal.  All gray and black water containers must be disposed of at the dump station.  No waste lines are permitted to drain into the ground surface.

15.            Campfires.  Campfires may only be started in designated firepits.  All fires must be supervised by a responsible adult and properly extinguished after use.  Glass, cans and other objects shall not be placed in fire rings or stoves.  Fire restrictions must be obeyed, if in place.

16.            Fireworks.  Fireworks are strictly prohibited.

17.            Firearms.  Firearms, air guns, or any other weapon are prohibited.

18.            Alcohol.  Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in moderation by campers age 21 or older, in their respective campsites or with permission of the campsite renter.  Any disorderly conduct, profanity, excessive drinking and illegal controlled substances will not be tolerated and will constitute expulsion from the park.

19.            Trees & wildlife.  Cutting trees and/or brush is prohibited.  Nails, screws, other fasteners or materials are not allowed to be inserted in trees.  Do not feed wildlife.  No person shall harass, catch, harm or kill any animal or bird.

20.            Other structures.  Permanent or seasonal structures, outside of the camping unit, are prohibited (ie; decks, sheds).

21.            Fuel (Saxon Harbor).  ALL FUELING of boats, including fuel brought in, must take place at the designated fuel dock.  Engines must be shut off and all passengers disembarked.  All six gallon and smaller tanks must be removed from boat before filling.  Registered fuel dock attendants must be present & oversee the fuel dock during fuel or gas dispensing.  Smoking is prohibited in the fuel dock area.  This policy will be strictly enforced. (Wis Administrative Code SPS310)

22.            Docking.  Seasonal Saxon Harbor boat tenants shall abide by all rules and regulations as set forth in Saxon Harbor Tenant Rules and Regulations.  Transient docking maximum length of stay 14 nights.  See caretaker or kiosk for availability.

23.            Vendors.  No commercial or profit-making organization may sell, vend or rent any article in the County Park without permission from the Iron County Forestry Committee.
