6 Campgrounds With Showers and Epic Bathrooms

Yes, this is an article about the best campgrounds with showers and bathrooms. Look, I just wrote it; you’re the one who searched for it. In fairness, more campers prioritize this than you might think!

Raise your hands if you really love those pit toilets. How about squatting in the woods? Does that bring you joy? When nature calls, there’s no reason you have to head straight into the forest to answer. In fact, when planning your next trip, you can filter by campgrounds with showers on both Campspot’s website and mobile app.

1. Dark Sky RV Campground – Kanab, UT

campground with shower and wide sink and mirror

Dark Sky RV Campground is exactly as advertised for those looking to get a quiet night under the stars. You’ll have beautiful views, as southwestern Utah has several recognized dark sky parks offering the best views of the night sky. While the sky is wide open, the bath suites are quite private and comfortable. Even the outdoor showers here put most indoor ones to shame. This site easily earns a spot among the best campgrounds with showers.

When daytime comes, you’ll have nearby access to some of the best outdoor activities in the country at Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. If that isn’t enough, Dark Sky RV Campground took third place in both Top Campgrounds in the USA and Top Campground Design in the 2022 Campspot Awards. The 30/50 amp RV sites here also took fifth place for Top Camping Sites.

2. Crossing Creeks Farm – Shelbyville, TN

red a-frame lodge at Crossing Creeks Farm campground

Crossing Creeks Farm is a working, family-run farm that offers lodging mainly to RV travelers, though there are also two open-air, screened cabins available to rent. The whole farm is catered towards offering farm-fresh food and experiences to all who pass by. You can get some of the healthiest (and tastiest) food in the area, all without leaving the campground, thanks to their on-site commercial kitchen.

Bathrooms here look like they fit the aesthetic of a family farm but are quite modernized. You’ll have hot water and a full outdoor sink here, but do note that you’ll need to supply your own towels.

3. Desert of Maine Campground – Freeport, ME

This one is an oddity, for sure. While you might hear of sand dunes in Maine and think maybe they’re on the coast, you’d be incorrect. These sand dunes? Well, they cover 20 acres, and they’re in the middle of a forest. This spot is filled with fun statues, tours, and activities that kids and adults both have loved for more than a century.

There are your standard tent and RV sites, and those are great. The communal bathrooms are, honestly, super aesthetically pleasing. If you want the ultimate experience among campgrounds with showers, though, definitely rent one of the A-frame cabins. Comfortable private bathrooms and a massive glass wall that faces into the woods? What’s not to like?

4. Moonshine Acres RV Park – Fort White, FL

campground with nice outside bathroom with shower

Originally belonging to a well-known moonshiner and his family, this RV park now holds his memory as a part of the overall aesthetic. This wildly comfortable park has a log cabin clubhouse and a general store should you forget anything or just want to venture out of your rig for some fun.

While you feel like you’ve stepped into a different era, you luckily brought all the modern conveniences with you on this time-travel journey. Those looking for campgrounds with showers will not only find modern bathrooms here, but they’ll see these aren’t just great by campsite standards. These things are downright impressive. You have several options for stays, though the glamping tents are definitely the best option if it’s in the budget.

5. Emberglow Outdoor Resort – Mill Spring, NC

Emberglow Outdoor Resort promises an “elevated camping experience,” and they aren’t just talking about the treehouses you can stay in! Emberglow was made to be an outdoor playground that had all the indoor amenities you could want. Simple exteriors give way to luxurious, modern interiors in their cabins, yurts, and trailers. As such, travelers searching for campgrounds with showers will have ample options when it comes to modern, private bathrooms.

All the best things about camp are here at Camp Fimfo Waco. Long days outside, water sports, fun activities—every childhood memory you cherish can be re-lived and passed onto the next generation here. With a full playground, mini-golf course, and a hot tub set-up, it’s impossible to feel stressed when you’re at Camp Fimfo Waco!

You’ve got several options for indoor bathrooms if you’re in a tent or RV, but the best way to stay is in one of the cabins. There are two types of cabins, and one of them offers three full bedrooms (the other has two and a pull-out sofa) if you’re heading with the whole family in tow.

Nearby Attractions: Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country, Wimberley Zipline Adventures, Natural Bridge Caverns

We always talk about heading to camp to “get away from it all.” Do we really mean all, though? If you mean “leave all the bad parts behind and keep all the comforts,” then these six campgrounds with showers and great bathrooms should make your shortlist when you plan your next trip!
