Elkhorn RV Resort, Lake City, Colorado

Occupancy Limits: The maximum occupancy for each cabin, cottage, or RV site is 2 people. Additional guests may stay for a fee of $5 per person, per night.

Parking & Permits: All vehicles must be registered with the campground at check-in, and parking permits are issued at that time. Permits must be displayed on vehicles throughout your stay. Parking for one vehicle is included with RV site, cabin, or cottage reservations. Extra vehicles are an additional $5 per day, while trailers are $10 per day.

Speed Limit: The speed limit within the campground is 5 mph. Please drive slowly and carefully to ensure the safety of all guests and our furry friends.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please be considerate of your fellow campers by keeping noise levels low during these times. If you’re using OHVs, please throttle down both in the campground and when traveling through town. This helps ensure OHVs remain welcome in the community while respecting local residents of Lake City and other Elkhorn guests.

Pet Policy for RV Sites, Cabins & Cottages, & Facilities: Pets are welcome at our RV sites. All pets must be kept on a leash at all times when outside, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them using the provided waste bags. Pets may not be left unattended outdoors at RV sites. Ensure your pets are well-behaved and do not disturb other guests. Pets are not allowed in cabins or cottages. Any guests in violation of this policy will be charged a $300 fee and may be asked to leave without a refund. Pets are not permitted in the shower house at any time. 

Shower House & Laundry Facilities: Our bathhouse and laundry facilities are available exclusively for registered overnight guests only. These amenities are not open to the public. We ask that guests help keep these areas clean and respect shared spaces to preserve them for many years to come,

No Tent Camping: Tent camping is not allowed anywhere within the campground. Only RVs, cabins, and cottages are available for overnight accommodations.

No Washing Vehicles on Grounds: Using RV site water hookups for washing vehicles (e.g., trucks, OHVs, campers, trailers) is strictly prohibited.

Refundable Security Hold for Cabins & Cottages: A credit card is required when checking in to your cabin or cottage. All cabin and cottage reservations require a $50 per day authorization hold (maximum $350) intended to cover any potential damages, excessive cleaning, or other incidentals during your stay. The hold is not a charge and will be released once the property is evaluated after checking out. If any charges are necessary, an itemized list will be provided, and any remaining balances will be charged to the card on file.

Housekeeping and Linens for Cabins & Cottages: There is no daily housekeeping service. Guests are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their cabin or cottage during their stay. A fixed amount of linens and towels are provided at the beginning of your stay. No extra linens or towels are provided beyond this, guests should be prepared to wash their own towels if they run out.  

Campfires: Campfires are only permitted in the designated community fire pit next to the pavilion. There are no fire rings at RV sites, and individual campsite fires are prohibited. During times of high wildfire risk, campfires may be restricted or banned to preserve the safety of guests and the environment. Guests will be informed of fire bans during check-in or their stay.

Waste Disposal: Please dispose of all trash in the dumpster provided. Do not leave food or waste outside, as it may attract wildlife. Be bear aware and please refrain from feeding animals or leaving food out, as it can attract wildlife and lead to unsafe situations. Ensure the lid to the dumpster is secured with the latch to prevent attracting unwanted encounters. Respect nature and help us preserve our campground and its surrounding areas by avoiding disturbance to wildlife, cutting trees, or damaging vegetation. Follow the Leave No Trace principle to help keep our grounds clean and beautiful.

Smoking Policy: Smoking—including cigarettes, vapes, and marijuana—is prohibited in all indoor spaces (e.g., cabins, cottages, shower house, laundry facility). There are no designated smoking areas, so we ask that you be mindful of shared outdoor spaces (e.g., campfire area, pavilion, and picnic areas) and your proximity to other guests. Please dispose of waste appropriately. Any guests in violation of the indoor no smoking policy will be charged a $300 fee and may be asked to vacate the campground with no refund.

Alcohol Policy: Alcohol is permitted on grounds, but we ask that you drink responsibly and be considerate of quiet hours and other guests. 

Compliance: By staying at our campground, guests agree to comply with all campground rules and policies. Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the property without a refund. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone at Elkhorn.

Injury and Liability: Guests use all campground facilities and amenities at their own risk. The campground is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or lost property that may occur during your stay. Guests are encouraged to exercise caution, especially around wildlife, campfires, and outdoor activities.
