Ellis Haven Campground
Please be considerate to everyone around you. Our rules and regulations are established to ensure an enjoyable stay at Ellis Haven. Please let us know of any violations that may affect your camping experience by notifying the front office. These rules are made to guarantee the safety and enjoyment of everyone and we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
- We reserve the right to select our clients and guests
- Please supervise your children and guests at ALL TIMES
- Curfew is 11pm and everyone must be on a site by this time
- Quiet hours must be observed between the hours of 11pm and 8am. Please be considerate of your neighbors. Massachusetts Law states that undue noise shall not be permitted at any time and particularly during the hours of 11pm and 8am
- No person shall deface, vandalize, or remove campground buildings, signs, structures, or barriers
- Firearms, fireworks, weapons, bb guns, slingshots, or bow & arrows are not permitted on campground premises
- No fighting. Anyone involved in fighting will be immediately removed from the campground with no refund
- Bike helmets are a state law for all ages and must be worn while riding in the campground
- No motorized bikes, scooters, go karts, minibikes, segways etc
- No drones
- No skateboards or rollerblades allowed in the park
- No power wheels
- Amplified sounds are not permitted in the campground at any time
- No pallets are allowed on campground premises
- No affixing structures to trees. Nails, lags, bolts are not to be driven into trees
- Generators are prohibited on campground premises
- We reserve the right to evict anyone violating the rules, destroying or defacing property. Any infractions of the rules may result in evictions without refund
- No riding on tailgates anywhere in the campground
- Anyone causing harm to the animals and wildlife will be asked to leave without refund
- Delivery drivers and rideshare vehicles are not allowed into the campground. You must meet them at the front entrance
Transient Policy
- Prices are based upon 2 adults and 2 children (17 & under)
- Additional guests are $10 per person per day, 4 adults and 4 children per site maximum
- No charge for children 5 years & younger
- Two (2) dogs per site; $4 per day per dog
- Must be 21 years of age to rent a campsite
- Weekly and monthly rates available
- No pets allowed when renting a cabin. Pets are not allowed in cabins
- No smoking allowed in the cabins
Reservation Policy: We do our best to honor your site request. However, we can not guarantee your choice unless you have paid the site lock fee of $10
- 2-5 nights: Reservations are recommended to be made 2 weeks prior to arrival date
- Payment is due in full when booking a reservation
- Cancelation: 15 day notice receive a full refund minus $25, 7-14 day notice receive credit ONLY minus $25, less than 7 day notice is a forfeit
- Guests cannot bring pets while visiting
- Two dogs per site maximum
- Holiday: 3 night minimum required
- 4th of July week: 4 night minimum
Swimming & Beach Areas
- Swimming is prohibited from 8pm - 8am
- Possession of glass containers at the beach is prohibited
- Swimming is allowed in the designated areas only. LIFEGUARDS are not provided by the campground, therefore children are NOT allowed at the beach unsupervised
- Anyone swimming in the appropriate areas does so at their own risk. The campground is not responsible for personal injury or property damage which may result from such activity
- ABSOLUTELY NO DIVING off the piers, docks, and floats
Fishing Rules
- CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY!
- Fishing is allowed on the designated fishing docks on the far side of the pond
- No fishing on the white docks in the beach area
- No fishing from 8pm to 8am
- No nets allowed
Pets
- Pets are NOT permitted at the beach, picnic areas, or in any campground building
- Pets are to be kept away from the goats, rabbits, peacocks or any other wildlife
- Pets are not allowed at or near the goat pen
- Pets must be leashed and restrained at all times
- Dog owners must pick up after their pets at all times and properly dispose of animal waste in receptacles
- Noisy or dangerous pets are not permitted. Family friendly only!
Motorized Vehicles and Boats
- No person shall operate a motor vehicle at a speed in excess of the posted 5mph speed limit throughout the campground
- 2 motor vehicles per site
- All vehicles must display a valid car pass at all times
- No motorized boats are allowed on any of the ponds. This includes electric or battery operated
- No trolling motors
- No washing of cars or trailers in the park without prior permission from the office
- Riding of motorcycles and/or three wheelers in campground is prohibited
Alcohol/ Drugs
- No person under 21 years of age shall possess alcoholic beverages; violators may be arrested, prosecuted and removed from the campground
- Excessive drinking or disorderly conduct will not be tolerated and the camper shall be removed without refund
- Possession, use or sale of a drug or paraphernalia shall result in the immediate removal of the camper and no refund will be issued. Violation of this rule shall result in a permanent banishment from the campground
Visitors and Guests
- Our definition of a visitor is any person(s) entering the campground whose name does not appear on the initial registration form as a “registered camper”. Any visitor who does not register at the front office will be considered trespassing and this WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. All visitors must leave the campground (checkout at the office by 8pm), unless registered and prepaid as an overnight guest
- The “registered camper” is responsible for checking in and checking out their guests
- The “registered camper” is responsible for their guests as well as to make sure their guests follow Ellis Haven’s Rules and Regulations
- Visiting hours are 8am to 8pm. No re-entry
- Visitors must prepay and register in the main office for each day they are going to be on the grounds
- Guests or visitors are not allowed to bring pets
- Anyone getting dropped off to stay at Ellis Haven must first stop at the office, register and pay for each day. The only guests exempt from fee are children 5 years old and younger
- If you are dropping something or someone off at a site you will be charged $10 admission fee per person to enter and it will be returned upon departure if out in 30 minutes or less time
- Guests are not allowed to enter Ellis Haven until after 8AM when the office opens for registration
Campfires
- Fires must be inside a fire ring or other approved product
- No fire can be left unattended
- No burning trash!
- No accelerants!
- No pressure treated wood
- Firewood only
- Fires are regulated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts according to conditions/weather
- No cutting of trees or burning leaves or pine needles
Trash/ Garbage
- All household trash must be put in plastic bags and deposited in dumpsters
- NO PERSONAL TRASH FROM HOME WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE DEPOSITED IN DUMPSTERS. VIOLATORS WILL BE REMOVED AT ONCE WITHOUT REFUND
- Garbage ONLY: NO METAL, WOOD OR PLASTIC
- Keep your camp area neat and clean
Seasonal Sites
- Seasonal sites include husband/wife or significant other and unmarried dependent children living at the same household; up to the age of 20. Students past the age of 17 must have a valid form of ID
- All seasonal campers must register and pay for their guests. If the seasonal camper is driving into the campground with visitors in their vehicle they must stop at the office, upon arrival, register and pay for each guest. If guests are driving themselves into the campground they must stop at the office, pay for each day they will be in the campground and register. Failure to do so will result in non renewal of seasonal sites
- Student drivers must register and pay for all guests at the main office. Failure to do so will result in removal of student pass and/or removal of family from seasonal sites without refund
- Seasonal payments are divided up into 3 payments due on the first of October, February, and May. Late payments will incur a fee of $150. Credit card payments will be charged 3% an additional convenience charge. Seasonal discount of $100 to anyone 65 years and older. Must be 65 by Jan 1st of the camping season to qualify
- We do our best to ensure the site of your choice. However we reserve the right to change your site without notification and any monetary adjustments
- No outside showers
- No machine washers allowed at campsites
- There shall be no building of any structures onto or adjacent to the trailer without expressed approval of the campground
- No building without expressed approval of the campground
- There shall be no painting of any structures on the site without approval of the campground
- Seasonal sites are not to be gifted, rented, or leased to anyone. Guests, children, adult children and pets are not to be left unattended at sites
- Water, cable and sewer is included in the seasonal fee. Electricity is separate and would be established through Eversource by the camper with the provided electric meter number. Note: if septic fails the camper must pay a fee to have it replaced. It will be replaced by Ellis Haven only. Call the office for more information
- There is no outside work allowed on weekends. This includes building, leaf blowing, power tools, generators, power washing etc.
- Wood, stone, lumber, mattress, furniture or heavy items are NOT to be delivered on weekends. All deliveries are to be done by Friday 12pm and shall not resume until Monday after 8am
- Guests, visitors, deliveries are not to enter the campground until AFTER 8AM
Sale of Trailers
- There is a $1,000 transfer fee for any trailer sold on site
- All sales are subject to the approval of the campground and must get permission prior to selling in the front office
- Seasonal sites are reserved for one family per site. See section above “seasonal sites”
Please let it be known, any seasonal camper not returning for the following season must notify Ellis Haven by January 1st. Failure to notify Ellis Haven prior to January 1 will result in a five hundred dollar ($500) fee in addition to any winter storage fee. Any seasonal site to which no payment has been made by May 1st will be cleaned up at the seasonal campers expense.
