ARRIVAL PROCEDURES & CAMPSITE/UNIT SETUP

Arrival Procedure

Regardless of if you are a new or returning Seasonal Camper, please contact management to schedule a drop off date at the beginning of the season (if your unit is not already on site). For the 2024 season, Management will contact Seasonal Campers for an appropriate drop off date.

Each visit, all Seasonal Campers and Guests are required to check in at the main office before entering the Campground. Seasonal Camper is responsible to pay then for any Guests accompanying the Seasonal Camper if Guest does not pay for themselves. All Seasonal Campers, Guests, and any short-term visitors are required to have a valid liability release on file.

If arriving after hours, the front gate may be closed. If you must open the gate to enter or exit, please close it behind you. Please check in at the office as soon as it opens the following morning.

All Campers and Guests must wear the wristband(s) that are provided at check-in. This allows the Staff to clearly distinguish guests and campers that have already checked in. Parking passes will also be given at the time of check in and should be displayed in the front windshield of the vehicle. You will also check in any pets at this time, please have your rabies number ready to provide.

RV Unit & Campsite Setup

To comply with local legal requirements, RV Units must maintain a minimum 10’ end-to-end separation and 15’ side-by-side separation with all slides extended. We reserve the right to dictate final placement of the RV Unit on all sites. Slides or awnings when extended are not to block the electric meter or be beyond your lot line.

RV jacks are to be the sole support of the RV Unit. Supports must be set up in a neat and orderly fashion. All tanks are to be safely secured and kept rust free. To refill propane, we suggest visiting Cherry’s Propane Service in nearby Ottawa, OH - less than 3 miles away.

Storage under the RV Unit must be kept to a minimum - no buckets, ladders, awning parts, or cans. The Campground has the option, if a lot needs attention, to maintain the site and charge the Seasonal Camper for the work at the cost of $25.00 per hour.

Steps, Storage Sheds & Additional Structures

Please note that all new structures, relocations of existing structures, or any changes to campsites need prior approval from Campsite management. All structures must have a base that is moveable by forklift. Always confirm with management the specs and location of any structure or change BEFORE purchasing it[LD1] .

Steps: Steps and step railings to the RV Unit must be made from pressure-treated wood or be manufactured for outdoor use. No cement blocks are to be used for steps.

Decks: All decks must be approved by management.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the Camper’s responsibility to remove decks in a timely manner if Campground needs to repair a waterline or electric problem beneath it.

Sheds: Prior approval by Campground is required before building or delivery of sheds. Size is to be no larger than 8’ X 10’ and only one story. The base must be either pressure-treated wood or the base of the plastic shed is acceptable if it sits directly on the ground. Outside sheds and cabinets such as the Rubbermaid products are acceptable but still must be approved by Campground before set-up. Sheds are for storage only and not to be used as housing. Do not leave valuables in storage sheds during the winter season. Golf carts are not to be parked in storage sheds. Keep the area around the shed neat, tidy, and secured. Campground is not responsible for any theft from sheds, secured or not. No shed can be relocated or sold within the Campground without prior approval of the Management. If trees need to be trimmed above Camper’s shed, it is the Camper’s responsibility to move or protect the building before the trees fall or are trimmed.

For wooden sheds, the design must be a barn-type or gambrel roof. No flat roofs will be permitted. The base design must be able to be picked up by backhoe forks. Building location must have prior approval from Management and the building is to be set on flat, solid patio stones or pressure-treated wood. Electric wire is not applicable to the shed. In the case of any lot fixing by Campground, Campground will not be responsible for any damages done to Camper’s wire assembly. This includes extension cords, water hoses, telephone lines, etc.  If a building becomes too old, too damaged, and/or does not meet current specs it may be condemned and removed.

Camper must check with Management before any work is done. This is to eliminate any problems with utility lines and following of camp rules. If digging occurs without permission from Campground, the Camper shall be responsible for the costs of any and all necessary repairs or replacements. The Campground is not responsible for personal injury or property damage that may result due to digging by Camper whether or not authorized.

Refrigerators

On-site outdoor refrigerators are prohibited, refridgerators must be kept in an enclosed enviroment. Due to the inevitability[LD2]  of power outages and the possibility of an accidental unplug, we highly suggest the bare minimum of perishables be left in any refrigerator when Camper(s) are not on site. The Campground assumes no responsibility for loss of food or refrigerators. Camper(s) is responsible for securing any food and drink within. If the refrigerator breaks, you are responsible for removing it from the Campground immediately. It is not to be left derelict at your site or disposed of at our dumpsters.

Campfires & Wood Storage

When selecting a campfire site, look up and try not to be under a tree where the heat will damage it. Fire rings should be placed in existing burn rings or in the gravel or dirt. Do not create a new fire ring placement in the grass without prior approval. Creating a new fire ring placement without prior approval of Management will result in a $75 fee. Please do not poach fire rings from other campsites. If you are in need of a fire ring and there are not any extras next to the Campground wood pile, please ask staff for assistance. All fires must be supervised by an adult. Burning of trash partically  plastic, glass, and aluminum is prohibited. Do not leave a fire burning when leaving the campsite, especially in the fall.

Wood is to be stored in a neat and orderly fashion. Only tarps are permitted to cover woodpiles, no permanent awnings or roofs. Animals, including snakes, bugs and bees move into wood piles that have little or no activity. If you have wood over three seasons please get rid of it. Pallets must be disassembled and stacked in one day. Firewood is not to be stacked over 4 feet high nor stacked against electric pedestals.

PARKING

Cars

One car is permitted per Campsite. You must register your vehicle with the main office and receive a new parking pass annually. These parking passes are valid for both the main gravel lot and quarryside parking and are non-transferable. Please do not park any vehicles larger than a golf cart on any grass areas, next to your RV unit or otherwise. Any additional gear trailers or vehicles will need to purchase daily parking passes. Seasonal Campers may have additional gravel put in at their own expense, please contact Management before doing this.

Golf Carts

Each Campsite is permitted one golf cart. Golf carts must be 4-cycle gas or electric, have four wheels, and a quiet muffler. They must be driven on the gravel roads only and follow the 5 mph speed limit. Headlights and taillights are required at night. Do not drive after Quiet Hours unless strictly required. Passengers must remain seated while carts are in motion; overloading a golf cart is dangerous and not permitted. Repeated violations by Camper(s) or guests will lead to removal of your privileges.

Golf carts must be parked in the main gravel lot with the brake set, keys stowed, and any covers or loose items secured when not in use/parked for longer than a day.

Gilboa Quarry assumes no responsibility for damage to personal property whether caused by the negligence of Full Tank LLC dba Gilboa Quarry, its employees, or its agents. Camper(s) will assume all risks of injury or death to themselves and others, and release and hold harmless Gilboa Quarry from any and all liability for any such injury or death. Camper(s) are responsible for their own actions and the actions of any passengers. All applicable laws and regulations apply.

Assumption of Risk

Parking at the Campsite is at your own risk. You are encouraged to lock your car and secure your valuables at all times. The Campground is not responsible for any damage to vehicles, golf carts, campers/RVs, or any other personal assets related to the Campsite.

ELECTRIC

Currently, all our campsites are provided with a single hookup to either 110v or 30/50 amp service. Camper[LD3] (s) is expected to provide any electrical cords and extensions needed to reach their assigned electric hookup. Camper shall not have multiple cords plugged into one source at once, as this can cause a fire hazard. Electric is currently not metered and is provided for each unit at no additional cost.

Air Conditioners/Heaters are to be powered down when the RV is not inhabited. Too many ACs and appliances running at once can cause the power to trip across the Campground. While we are working to install more reliable metered electric in the new campground, we please ask that you respect the minimal power grid we are currently working with.

PLEASE NOTE - Just because your electric is currently unmetered, it does not mean your electric is unlimited. Any Camper(s) found to be using excessive amounts of electricity (i.e. multiple AC units running simultaneously or running AC when no one onsite) may be charged an excessive use fee of $50/mo.

WATER

Please make every effort to help us conserve our onsite water. Well water is not an unlimited resource and can run out. Due to the high volume of guests on weekends, please wash RV Units and Golf Carts throughout the week. Absolutely no car/truck or other vehicle washing.

During Power Outages - Please Do Not Use the Water. Even though there is still pressure, the safety switches to the pumps shut off and the pumps have to be restarted, which does take time. The water system will be energized on or about April 1 and on or about Nov. 30 the system will be winterized and drained.

Use only potable water hoses (all white) for the RV Unit. The Ohio Department of Health has set this requirement.

Always turn water off to the RV Unit when not in use.

FYI: The water source is from 1 wells and is NOT UNLIMITED and usage must be conservative. Our water system complies with the laws and rules of the Ohio EPA, Ohio Health Department and Putnam County Health Department.

SEPTIC

Currently, septic collection is by honey-pot transfer to our septic tank or by reservation with the main office; we can request your RV Unit be emptied when our onsite porta-pots are emptied. Some sites may be inaccessible for pumping, but if your site is accessible you’ll need to be onsite to pay the pumping company directly, or leave the exact change amount with the office to deliver in your absence. Please use ecologically safe tank prep materials within your RV Unit system to help keep our septic systems from failing.

Holding Tank Equipment: Hoses are to be stored out of sight directly after use. Portable tanks (“Honey Pots”) are to be out of sight, under the RV Unit, or otherwise stored appropriately.

Campground reserves the right to cross any site to egress pumping. Campground assumes no responsibility for the condition of the holding tank on any RV Unit or for any damage caused by or arising from any dump services.

Seasonal Campers have free access to use the dump station. Transient RV Campers may use the dump station for $20 charge.

GARBAGE & RECYCLING

Garbage collection onsite occurs May 1 thru Oct. 31 and is only at the dumpster in the Main Parking Lot. Garbage is to be bagged and put into the dumpster, please close the lid when you are finished. Only camp park generated garbage is permitted. Do not bring out-of-Campground garbage. Do not leave beside or put in the dumpster any decks, grills, tires, bikes, chairs, or junk metal; Take it home with you promptly.  A recycling container is available for aluminum and cans during the peak season.

Please do not dump grass clippings on the creek bed.
