Terms and Conditions

Welcome to our campground! We are so glad you decided to spend your vacation with us. We want to make sure that everyone has a great time while they are here, so please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our campground policies.

General Rules

  • All campers must be registered and have paid the appropriate fees before setting up on a campsite.
  • All guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their children. Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only.
  • Any damage to campground property or equipment will be the responsibility of the camper and will be charged accordingly.
  • Please be respectful of your neighbor and do not walk between sites when navigating the park. Please use main roads, sidewalks, and designated public paths to walk around the campground.
  • The campground speed limit is 10 km per hour. This policy is to keep you, your children, and your pets safe. Exceeding this speed limit will result in a warning. Multiple warnings will require us to ask you to leave. Safety is our number one priority for our guests.
  • Guests may not hang any items from the trees. This excludes hammocks and tarps if they have appropriate straps that wont damage the trees. Please do not screw anything into the trees.
  • Harmony Acres is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles, Keep all valuables locked up.
  • We adhere to and maintain all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and by-laws.

Payment Terms:

At Harmony Acres, all standard reservations must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure your stay. For group, cabin and deluxe site stays of 5 or more nights, we require a 50% deposit to hold your spot, with the remaining balance due prior to check-in.

If you have any special requests or circumstances, please feel free to reach out to our main office via email or phone. Our team is always happy to help and will do their best to accommodate your needs. Please note that any exceptions or adjustments to our payment terms are subject to approval by management.

Booking Age Requirements

We are thrilled to have guests of all ages stay with us. To comply with our policies only those who are 19 years or older will be allowed to reserve a campsite.

When checking-in, we kindly ask that you present a valid government-issued ID to confirm your age. Please make sure the ID matches the name on the reservation. If for any reason, the ID does not match or the individual is under 19 years, the reservation will be cancelled and any payments made, will not be refunded. Please contact the main office for any questions.

Site Maximum

At our campground, we ask that all guests adhere to the maximum occupancy limit designated for each site. If you arrive with more individuals than the maximum capacity, please be aware that there are two options available. You may book another site, if one is available, to comfortably accommodate the additional guests. Alternatively, if no other site is available, you may choose to cancel your reservation. Please note that in such instances there is no refund.

Site Gatherings / Group Bookings

If you have booked multiple camping sites, and plan to eat or gather together on one site, we kindly ask you to follow the guidelines listed below:

  1. Limit gatherings to a maximum of three sites.
  2. Keep the number of people on one site to a maximum of 12.
  3. Please return to your original site by 11:00 PM.

Site Changes

Your Site # is subject to change prior to arrival unless a site lock fee was paid during the time of booking. If you wish to move to a different site or different site type, please check with the office. Due to reservations and maintenance, moving may not be possible. Please inquire before moving sites.

Check-In / Check-Out

Check in from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. If you cannot make your reservation time due to unforeseen circumstances, please call the main office to arrange a check-in time.

Late arrivals are expected to adhere to the campfire policy. 

Late arrivals are requested to adhere to the quiet time and radio free policy. You must make sure that your vehicle lights are turned off while unpacking so that you don’t disturb other campers.  Come prepared with site lanterns and headlights for this purpose. Be respectful of other sleeping campers.

Check out is by 11:00 a.m. on day of departure.  The office may be able to arrange a late checkout, if available. Additional fees may apply.

Note: The guests who paid for the site the night before you has paid for their site until 11:00 a.m.

We will not ask a guest to leave so that you can check in early. If you will be arriving in the area early, please make arrangements until your site opens up at 2:00 p.m.

Radio Free

At Harmony we understand that music can be an enjoyable part of a camping trip, but we also believe that the sounds of nature should be the focus of our guests' experience. To balance these interests, we have established the following music policy:

·         Live musical instruments are welcome, as long as they are not disruptive to other guests.

·         Amplified music is not allowed at anytime. This includes speakers, phones, car radio etc.

Underage Drinking, Loud Music, Rowdiness, Quiet Hours

We have a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking, partying, loud music, or rowdiness. We want to make sure that all of our guests are safe and that everyone can enjoy their stay. If you are caught violating this policy, you will be evicted from the campground without a refund.

We understand that you may want to have a good time and enjoy some music and fun, but please keep in mind that there are other guests here who want to enjoy the peacefulness of nature.

Quiet Times

To respect the peaceful environment for all guests, we ask that you keep noise levels low from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Please speak quietly and do not disturb your neighbours. Patrolling is conducted throughout the evening.  All violators will be evicted.

Smoking, Vaping, Alcohol, Substance Use

Smoking, vaping, drinking and substance use are limited to your campsite only. Illegal drug use is prohibited. Please do not throw empty bottles, cans into the forest or firepits. Please do not use your campsite as an ashtray.  Loud, aggressive, abusive or insulting behavior will not be tolerated and Police will be called for your eviction.

SMOKING of anything will not be allowed in public spaces such as the showers, bathrooms, toilets and dishwashing areas. No Smoking inside of cabins, a cleaning fine of $300 will be charged to the credit card used to make the reservation.

Violation of this policy will result in immediate eviction without refund.

Parking

Vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only. There is a limit of one vehicle per site, unless otherwise stated. Do not park on sites you did not register for, do not block other sites or the road while unloading. Extra vehicles will need to be parked in designated lots around the property. Please do not park on our grass. Please inquire at the main office regarding boats, trailers and extra vehicles.

Tents

We strive to provide comfortable and convenient camping experiences for all of our guests. Please read the site description prior to booking and confirm below.

If you are unsure if your tent will fit on your chosen site, please don't hesitate to reach out to our main office for assistance. We will be happy to provide the dimensions of each site and help you determine the best option for your needs.

Basic, standard and premium sites are suitable for a single sleeping tent, Family sites allow for two sleeping tents and a cooking tent, and group sites can accommodate 3-4 tents.

If you have any questions or concerns about the size or number of tents allowed on your site, please contact our main office for further information. We are here to help and ensure that your camping experience is enjoyable and comfortable.

Tent Condition

At Harmony Acres Campground, we want to ensure that everyone has a great time while camping with us. To help make this happen, we ask that all tents be in good condition before setting them up.

A tent in good condition means it should be free of holes, tears, or any other damage that could affect its structure, safety or the comfort of those inside. If your tent doesn't meet this standard, we kindly ask that you either repair or replace it.

Cabins

Please remember to bring sleeping bags, blankets and pillows.  There are no cooking facilities or bathrooms inside of the cabins. Picnic tables and firepits are outside by each cabin. No sleeping tents on cabin sites are permitted. Smoking and/or vaping are not permitted inside the cabin and a cleaning fee will be assessed and charged to the credit card used to make the reservation.

Please note in renting a cabin you agree to the following term: All damages to the cabin, whether caused by myself, my children, guests or pets, will be disclosed to the registration office immediately or at checkout. All damages occurring to the cabin during my stay will be charged to my credit card after a thorough inspection has been made by Harmony Acres Campground. Damages for which I will be responsible include, but are not limited to: lost key(s), broken items, damaged/dented/bent furniture, writing on walls or bedding, and ripped or torn mattresses or covers.

RV’s

While we do welcome RVs, please keep in mind that we are primarily a tenting and cabin campground and therefore have limited options for RVs in terms of hookups. We require that all Motorhomes, RVs or Travel Trailers must be in good working order and appearance. Generators may only be used with office permission due to noise. Please contact the main office.

Campfires

Fires are allowed from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.  and they are only allowed in designated fire rings and must be attended at all times. Do not leave fires unattended and make sure they are completely extinguished before leaving, and/or when you go to sleep.

Your sites are in the heart of a forested area; and fires must be kept low. Do not burn your trash. Do not move your fire ring without speaking to the management first. Late arrivals (after 10:30 pm) please note that campfires are not allowed to be ignited.

Fire Bans: Most years during the summer months there will be a fire ban issued by either the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula or the Province of Ontario.  Generally, these are partial bans allowing for cooking fires only. A full fire ban is due to extreme conditions of dryness. For your safety and that of the ecology around you we must enforce this order when our area falls under a Restricted Fire zone. Please contact us if you have a concern and we will contact you if we get the notification so that you can bring the appropriate alternative cooking gear.

Wood

We are very serious about the well being of our forest!! We do not tolerate scavenging of the forest or wild flora. Anyone caught taking wood from the forest. forest floor and/or breaking branches to start fires, will automatically be fined the applicable on site property fines and evicted.

All firewood and starter/kindle kits must be purchased on site.  Wood brought onto the campground will be confiscated. (The Law- Plant Protection Act)

Environmental Damage

We are proud to be a part of nature and are committed to preserving the natural beauty of our onsite and local environment for all to enjoy. We kindly ask that all our guests' respect and protect this environment by following some simple guidelines:

  • Please refrain from damaging any trees or vegetation during your stay.
  • Firewood must be purchased from our campground to avoid the risk of invasive species. Scavenging for firewood and or fire-starting materials is strictly prohibited.
  • Please dispose of all trash and recyclables properly in the designated areas.
  • Do not leave any personal belongings behind.

Violation of these guidelines may result in fines being charged to the credit card used to make the reservation, forfeiture of the damage deposit for group sites, and at the discretion of the staff, immediate eviction without refund. The fines and fees for violating these guidelines can be found on our website.

Garbage, Recycling and Compost

At our campground, we strive to be kind to the environment and reduce our impact on the planet. To help achieve this goal, we kindly ask that you follow the guidelines listed below:

  1. Clean up your campsite and dispose of trash each night and before leaving the campground.
  2.  You will be provided with a clear bag for recyclables.
  3. In order to reduce the impact on the local landfill you will be provided a single a black garbage bag upon arrival. If you have extra waste to dispose of, we have two options for you:
    1. Purchase extra bags and tags from us for a small fee.
    2. Take your waste off the campground with you.
    3. Compost food waste at the designated dishwashing stations.
    4. Do not burn food scraps, plastics, glass or other garbage in your fire pit.

We truly appreciate your cooperation and understanding in our efforts to keep our campground clean and green. Thank you!

Restrooms

Our restrooms are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the exception of temporary closures for cleaning. We kindly ask for your assistance in keeping the restrooms clean and tidy for everyone's enjoyment. For the safety of our younger guests, those under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult while using the showers and toilets. Please also take note of any posted notices in the bathrooms regarding what should or should not be flushed down the toilets.

We have several facilities available for your use, including two shower houses with toilets, a separate toilet building near the cabins, and portable toilets throughout the campground. Each group site also has its own portable toilet. Please do not use your camping site or the surrounding forest as a restroom, as clean up fees will be charged.

Showers

Showers and toilets are open 24 hours. Showers are operated by $3 token purchased in the office. It is 4 minutes of water; up to 6 minutes timing due to the start/stop system. Any unused tokens at the end of your stay can be traded for the $3.

Electrical Use / Electric Vehicles

It is important to be mindful of your electrical usage and to understand the number of amps you are using. Most of the outlets are on 15 amp breakers, while a few sites have 30 amp breakers. We ask that you take care not to trip your breaker during your stay.

In the event that you encounter any electrical issues during your stay, please notify the office immediately so that we can notify maintenance. For insurance and safety reasons, guests are not permitted to diagnose the electrical pedestals. Our maintenance team will be happy to assist you with any electrical needs or concerns.

Please note that electric vehicles are not permitted to be charged on site. If you need to charge your vehicle, please contact the office for further information and assistance.

Firearms, Weapons, Fireworks, Firecrackers, Sky Lanterns, Hunting

Our campground strictly prohibits the use of fireworks (including sparklers, smoke bombs, aerials, firecrackers, and gender reveal firecrackers), firearms, and weapons (including all guns, large knives, swords, machetes, paintball, slingshots, slings, crossbows, bow and arrow, or any form of archery). Hunting is also not allowed. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate police involvement and eviction of the entire group with no refund.

Drones

Drones are not permitted to be flow in our campground without express permission from campground management. Please inquire at the main office if you would like to fly your drone.

ATV’s. Dirt Bikes, and Golf Carts Etc.

You are welcome to bring your OHV but it may not be used on the property, please confirm National and Provincial park policies on their use inside park boundaries.

Electric Scooters, Electric Bikes, Electric Skateboards, Electric Unicycles etc

We welcome these in our campground, however they are treated like motor vehicles and the speed limit must be followed, please confirm National and Provincial park policies on their use inside park boundaries.

Children

Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Riding bicycles without a parent and  riding on our main entrance road is prohibited for the safety of your children and our incoming guests. Anyone under the age of 16 must be back at their site by dusk. After 9:00 pm children may not use the restrooms without being accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Visitors

Only registered guests are permitted to enter the park. All visitors must stop in the office to register and receive a parking pass. Visitors may not bring pets. Harmony Acres Campground reserves the right to limit the number of people visiting a site.

Day visitors must depart by 10:00 pm. No overnight visitors allowed. Please check with the office before inviting any visitors. Registered guests are responsible for ensuring their visitors are properly registered and that all campground rules are followed.

All guest visiting someone in the campground must register and pick up a pass at the office and park in the designated area. Vehicle Pass must be visible at all times please.

Pets

Our campground welcomes pets as part of your family, but we ask that guests follow certain rules to ensure comfort and safety for all. Pets must be friendly, quiet, and have current vaccinations, and must always be kept on a leash and supervised. They are not permitted in any buildings, restrooms, or horse fields. There is a limit of 2 pets per site or 1 pet per cabin, with additional cleaning fees for cabins.

Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet and any damage they may cause. If a pet is barking excessively or causing a disturbance, the owner may be asked to take appropriate action and, in severe cases, leave the campground without a refund. Breeds deemed aggressive or dangerous by campground management are not allowed.

Horses

You may not ride or attempt to ride any horse on or at the Property or enter the stables/corral area/horse fields, unless you are an owner of the horse stabled on the property. Harmony Acres Campground may not be held liable for injuries arising from non-compliance.

Wild Animals

We are excited to share that our campground is home to a variety of wild animals, including bears, foxes, coyotes, and raccoons and even the odd chicken. While it is an exciting opportunity to see these amazing creatures in their natural habitat, it’s important to remember that they are wild and should not be interacted with or fed.

To ensure the safety of our guests and the preservation of the natural habitat, we kindly ask all campers to keep their sites clean and free of food debris. This will help keep the wild animals at a safe distance and prevent any negative interactions.

If you happen to spot a bear or other wild animal on the campground, please notify the office immediately. We want to ensure the safety of all our guests.

In the event that a site is found to be in violation of our cleanliness policy, staff may enter the site to rectify the issue. Please understand that this is for the safety and well-being of all our guests.

Feeding or interacting with wild animals is not permitted and violators will be asked to leave the campground.

Trails and Shorelines

Proper foot wear is required on all trail systems for your protection (no flipflops or high heels) Pack out what your Pack in is the golden rule. The forest areas are home to a variety of wildlife from snakes to bears. Anyone who injures, kills, removes any animal or plant species will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Any one who removes animals or plants from National Park study areas will be charged by Parks Canada.

Rental Item Policy

Payment for Damages: In the event that rental items are damaged during the rental period, the credit card on file will be charged for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, at the discretion of Harmony Acres Campground.

Non-Returned Items: If rental items are not returned at the end of the rental period, the renter will be charged the full replacement value of the item. If the rental item is returned within a reasonable timeframe, a pro-rated amount may be credited back to the renter’s credit card on file, based on the discretion of Harmony Acres Campground.

Indemnity: The renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Harmony Acres Campground from any and all claims, demands, damages, expenses, and liability of any nature arising from or in connection with the use of the rental items. This includes, but is not limited to, any personal injury or property damage that may occur during the use of the rental items.

No Warranties: Harmony Acres Campground makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the rental items or the information, content, materials, or products included on or accessible through the rental items. The renter assumes all risk and responsibility for the use of the rental items and acknowledges that Harmony Acres Campground is not responsible for any damage or loss that may occur during the rental period.

Responsibility for Use: The renter assumes all responsibility for the proper use and care of the rental items and agrees to return the items in the same condition as received, reasonable wear and tear excepted. The renter is also responsible for any damages or losses that may occur during the rental period, including but not limited to theft or vandalism.

Inspection and Cleaning: Upon return of the rental items, Harmony Acres Campground will inspect the items and assess any additional cleaning fees if necessary. The renter agrees to return the rental items in a clean and tidy condition.

Late Return: If the rental items are returned past the check-out time, an additional daily rental fee will be applied, based on the discretion of Harmony Acres Campground.

Changes to Policy: Harmony Acres Campground reserves the right to change this policy at any time without prior notice. The renter is responsible for regularly checking the policy for updates and changes.

By using the rental items, the renter agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of this Rental Item Policy. Harmony Acres Campground reserves the right to refuse rental to any individual who violates the terms of this policy.

Exclusion of Liability

In no event will Harmony Acres be liable for any damages, including without limitation, direct or indirect, incidental and/or consequential damages resulting from the use of the grounds, facilities in this campground or from visitation suggestions made to locations in the local area and within National Parklands. Harmony Acres is not liable for the damage or loss of personal property brought onto this property and/or your stay here.

Terms and Conditions Subject to Change

The preceding policy outlines the terms and conditions that govern the use of our campground and services. We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, and any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our reservation booking website. It is your responsibility to periodically review this policy to stay informed of any changes. Your continued use of our services constitutes your agreement to be bound by this policy, as may be amended from time to time.

Conclusion

We understand that accidents happen and that unexpected things come up, and we’ll do our best to work with you in case of an emergency. However, please understand that we reserve the right to evict any guest who violates these policies or causes a disturbance without a refund. We want to ensure that all of our guests have a safe, comfortable and enjoyable stay, and we appreciate your cooperation in making that happen.

By making a reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this document. This agreement applies to all individuals staying at the property, including but not limited to the primary reservation holder and their guests. Your reservation serves as a digital signature, legally binding you and your guests to the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. Failure to comply with these terms may result in the forfeiture of your deposit, additional charges, or termination of your stay. It is your responsibility to ensure that all individuals in your party are aware of and agree to these terms.
