Reservations made 8+ Days in Advance the system will require a 1 night deposit. Reservations made 7 days or Less in Advance, a full prepayment of the reservation is required. Our system will autocharge the guest the remaining balance 7 days prior to arrival. However if the guest books 8+ days in advance, the system will allow the guest to either pay the 1 night deposit, or the full prepayment of the reservation.  One night deposit is non refundable regardless of date of cancellation.  No refunds given for cancellations within one week of reservation (two weeks for holidays). 

Reservations are made only through Hickory Nut Falls Family Campground and Campspot.  We do not allow, nor will we honor any other 3rd party reservations or gift cards from scam websites.

Campground Rules

Our goal at the Hickory Nut Falls Family Campground is to provide families with an affordable getaway in a safe and friendly environment. The rules and regulations we have set are to ensure a peaceful vacation for everyone who camps here. If a camper, their visitors, or pets should disregard our rules, or disrupt the vacation of fellow campers, they may be asked to leave.

Campers traveling from the West should use caution making a right turn into the campground.  Campers longer than 25ft are encouraged to pass the entrance and go to Lake Lure Marina to turn around.  This will allow a much easier left turn into the campground.

We are trusting our campers to be honest about the size of their rig when making online reservations.  If a camper selects a site that is too small for their unit, the camper will be charged for any damages caused as well as the full cost of the reservation.

1. Rates apply to one family and one camping unit per site.  Tents are not allowed on RV sites & RVs are not allowed on tent sites.

2. Cancellations must be made at least one week prior to the reservation arrival date (two weeks for holidays). If cancellation is made within this timeframe, camper will receive a refund for their stay minus the first night charge and reservation fee.  One night is nonrefundable no matter when a cancellation is made.  If site is cancelled within one week of reservation, or within two weeks for holiday reservations, no refund will be given.  The person who makes the reservation will be responsible for the price of the site.

3. Quiet time is 10:00 pm - 7:00 am STRICTLY ENFORCED! Gate closes at 11:00 pm and opens at 8:00 am. Visitors must leave by 10:00 pm. There is a charge for visitors.

4. Absolutely NO guns, fireworks, slingshots, air rifles or rock-throwing are permitted on the premises. For safety reasons, bicycles must go slowly, especially past the office.

5. Pets: We are pet friendly to friendly pets. Pets must be kept on a short leash and are not permitted in buildings. All waste must be disposed of properly. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET UNATTENDED. Guests are responsible for the action of their pets. Excessive barking or aggressive behavior is not allowed.

6. No one is permitted to wash dishes or clothing in bathhouses or to carry hot water from the bathhouse.  

7. Children should be accompanied by an adult to the bathhouses. Please do not allow your children to play in the bathhouses.

8. Absolutely NO cutting of trees, shrubs, or flowers. Violators will be prosecuted! Do not drive nails into trees. Firewood is for sale at the office. Do not leave fires unattended.

9. Please do not pour grease on the ground, trees, or in the sewer. Do not throw out food scraps as this attracts unwanted wildlife, especially skunks and raccoons.

10. Alcoholic beverages must be confined to your campsite. There will be no public display of alcohol. This is a family campground, and no unruly conduct will be allowed.

11. Sound carries. Please keep radios, TVs, and conversations at normal levels. Please be mindful of fellow campers.

12. Loud vehicles will not be permitted.

13. Swimming and fishing in the rivers is permitted at your own risk. You must have a fishing license and a trout stamp to fish.

14. Laundry room is open from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm. Game room is open from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm. On Sundays the game room opens after worship service.

15. Refunds are given in true emergencies only! Weather is not an emergency.  Purchasing a weather guarantee is an option provided in Campspot when making online reservations.

16. Please be conservative with water, especially hot water.  Portable hot tubs are not permitted.

17. Campground speed limit is 5 MPH. WATCH OUT FOR CHILDREN.

18. Playground: Parents must supervise children. Please do not abuse equipment. Campground is not responsible for accidents.

19. Please leave your campsite as you would like to find it.  Cleaning fees will be charged to your account if not. Check out time is 1:00 pm for campsites & 11:00 am for rentals.  

20. Please put all garbage in the dumpster near the bridge. Plastic bags are provided in the office.

Check in is from 1:00pm -  5:00pm on weekdays & 1:00pm - 7:00pm  on weekends.  Our office closes at 2:00pm on Sundays.  If you arrive after office hours, you will find your map with your name, site number and wifi information attached to our office door.  Even if you check in online, please stop by our office on your way in to say hi & pick up your paperwork.  We like to put a face with a name.  We look forward to seeing you!

When turning out of the gravel road from the lower end river sites, larger campers will want to go left at the fork at the time of their departure.  This will ensure campers a less bumpy exit.
