Indiana State Fairgrounds Campsite
Reservations
All campers must reserve a campsite using our online reservation portal. This can be accessed by going to www.indianastatefair.com, clicking on the Visit menu and selecting "camping". All campers are required to camp in the site they reserved online. Camping stays are restricted to no more than 15 days, long term camping is not available.
Check-In Procedure
Check-in is from 1pm to 7pm daily and Check-out is Noon (12pm) on the date of departure. Failure to vacate your site by Noon on your date of departure will result in an additional night charge to your reservation. If you need to edit, extend, or cancel your reservation for any reason, please email camping@indianastatefair.com or call 317-927-7503 (phone answered between 9am and 4pm Monday through Friday). If your arrival will be after 7pm, contact Security at 317-927-7520 for assistance.
Campers at the Monon & Coalyard Campgrounds are encouraged to enter Gate 6 and turn left at the Cashier Hut to follow Main St. to the Campgrounds.
Campers at 46th Street Campground need to arrive at 1219 E 46th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205 and check-in at the Camp Registration Office.
Upon your arrival at the Monon or Coalyard Campground, you MUST contact the Security Office at 317-927-7520 to check-in and request your electrical box to be unlocked. The Public Safety Officer will assist you with your electrical service and provide you with a placard. This placard will have basic campground information and important severe weather shelter information on the back, and details of your stay (check-in and out dates) on the front. This placard must be displayed in a location visible to the outside of your RV at all times. Failure to display the placard will result in a check from Security to determine if you are still registered to be staying in the park.
Site Changes
You have chosen a specific site, if you wish to move please check call or email the camping office at 317-927-7503 or camping@indianastatefair.com. Due to reservations and maintenance, moving may not be possible. Please inquire before moving sites.
Security
The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center is patrolled 24 hours/day. The Public Safety Officers can be reached by calling 317-927-7520.
If you observe any activity you believe to be of concern, call 317-927-7520 to reach Security and report the behavior immediately.
If you need 911 for any reason and time allows, call Security at 317-927-7520. This will allow us to provide an escort for emergency services to your camp site to speed up their response.
Open Fires
Open fires are NOT allowed at our park. Fires in fire pits, fire rings or other open burning are not permitted at any time. Indianpolis has passed a ban on open burining within the city limits. Charcoal grilling or gas grilling in an appropriate grill or vessel constructed for that purpose are permitted.
Parking
Each paid guest reservation convers 1 RV per site and 1 vehicle per site (depending upon size of RV and Vehicle, large motorcoaches may not leave enough room for your personal vehicle). If your vehicle and RV do not both fit in your site or you have additional vehicles, those must be parked in the adjacent parking lot. For trailer parking you may be asked to move trailers to a different location to allow for event parking.
Please do not park your vehicle, trailer, boat, etc. in an adjacent site. Vehicles must either fit within your camp site or be parked in the adjacent parking lot. Use of more than one site will result in additional fees and/or vehicles being towed to allow other campers to use the space to camp.
Livestock trailers are not permitted to be stored next to your RV. If a trailer is seen next to your RV for more than one hour, an additional fee will be added to your reservation. Failure to move the trailer upon request may result in you being asked to leave without a refund.
Speed Limit
The Fairgrounds speed limit is 20mph. This policy is to keep you, your children, your pets, our employees, and other guests safe. Exceeding this limit will result in a warning. Multiple warnings will require us to ask you to leave without a refund for the remainder of your stay. Safety is our number one priority for our guests.
Pet Policies
- Leash - We ask that you keep your pets on a leash at all times. This helps you, your pet, and other guests stay safe.
- Buildings - Pets and empotional support animals are not permitted inside buildings at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center. Service animals and animals participating in the event are permitted. Please do not tie your pets to our trees, doors, posts, or other structures.
- Cleaning Up - Be a good neighbor and clean up after your pet. Do not let your pet deposit waste on your site or any of out other guests' sites. Failure to clean up after your pet will result in you being asked to leave without a refund.
- Unattended Pets - Pets may not be left unattended outside of your RV in our park. Please do not tie your pet to a tree and leave. Leaving your pets unattended is dangerous for your pet as many factors including severe weather, power outages, etc. can affect their well-being while you're away.
- Vaccinations - All pets staying in our park must be current on all vaccinations. Please make sure your pet's shots are up to date.
- Barking - Excessive barking is not tolerated and disturbs your neighbors. Please not that excessive barking may result in you being asked to leave without a refund.
Severe Weather
In case of severe weather, seek shelter in the bathouse or shelter location for your campground identified on the back of the placard issued to you by Security upon your arrival. We love pets, so please bring them with you to the shelter and do not leave them in your RV during severe weather warnings.
Visitors
Only registered guests are permitted in the campgrounds. All visitors may be required to pay a fee to park on the property if events are occuring upon their arrival. Visitors may NOT bring pets. Day visitors must depart by 10pm EST. Overnight visitors must depart by Noon the next day. The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center reserves the right to further restrict visitors for at specific times related to events occuring on the property or for maintenance.
Electrical Use
You are responsible for understanding how many amps you are using in your RV. Amp usage over the 30 amp or 50 amp service provided at our spaces can trip your breaker. Please be mindful of your amp usage, so that you don't trip your breaker during your stay.
Please notify the office so that we can notify maintanace if you have any electrical issues during your stay. Guests are not permitted to diagnose our electrical boxes per insurance and safety requirements. Maintenance is happy to help. Even if you are an electrician, laws prohibit you from working on our boxes unless hired to do so.
Restroom & Laundry Facilities
For the comfort of all our guests, restrooms and laundry rooms are open 24/7 with the exception of a temporary closing for cleaning. We ask for your help in keeping these spaces clean.
Quiet Hours
Quiet Hours are from 11pm to 6am. Anyone playing loud music will be warned only once and then asked to leave without a refund.
Trash Disposal
Trash cans are located throughout the park. Please tie trash bags completely closed and put your trash completely in the container. If the first container is full, please find another container. Do Not Place Your Trash On The Ground. Woodland creatures like possums and raccoons and city creatures like rats and mice are attracted to left out or disposed of food. Do not dispose of wires, oil, furniture, mattresses, or any toxic waste or chemicals in our trash cans.
All campsites are to be kept clean and free of trash.
Drones
Drones are not permitted on the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center property. Use of a drone on our property will result in a warning being issued. If found operating a drone on our property again, you will be asked to leave without a refund.
Fireworks
Fireworks are strictly prohibited on our property. The prohibition against fireworks includes sparklers, smoke bombs, aerials, and firecrackers.
Firearms/Weapons
Title 80 of the Indiana Administrative Code prohibits anyone in possession of a firearm or weapon from being present on the property. The only exceptions are off duty federal, state, or local law enforcement officer. If you are seen with a firearm or deadly weapon outside of your RV you will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
Clotheslines
Clotheslines are not permitted in our campgrounds.
Alcohol
No alcohol may leave your rented campsite.
Generators
Generator use is not permitted in our campground.
