Standard Terms and Conditions

In consideration of being permitted by Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground to enter the Campground and participate in the Recreation Activities at the Campground and in recognition of the Lanari Ross Inc.'s reliance hereon, the Campers agree to all the terms and conditions set forth in these Standard Terms and Conditions.

The Campers agree to abide by the Park Rules, including those rules and policies published within these Standard Terms and Conditions, and those posted at the Campground or otherwise communicated in any manner by Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground Management and Staff.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

The Campers acknowledge that during their stay at the Campground they may engage in various recreational activities, including, but not limited to camping-related activities (such as campfires), swimming, fishing, hiking, boating, yard games, and bicycling (collectively, “Recreation Activities”). As participants in the Recreation Activities, each Camper is responsible for acting within the limits of the Camper’s ability and heeding all warnings regarding participation in those Recreation Activities. All Campers will maintain control of themselves and any equipment while participating in the Recreation Activities and will refrain from acting in any manner that may cause or contribute to injury to the Campers or to others.

Campers are aware and understand that the Recreation Activities are potentially dangerous and involves the risk of serious injury, disability, death, and/or property damage. Campers acknowledge that these risks may result from or be compounded by the actions, omissions, or negligence of Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground or its managers, governors, partners, principals, members, employees, agents, affiliates, representatives, consultants, accountants, contractors, and attorneys or other advisors, and any successors or assigns of the foregoing (collectively, “Releasees”) or others, including negligent emergency response or rescue operations of the Releasees. Campers understand that the Releasees cannot guarantee that Campers will not be injured while at the Campground or during participation in the Recreation Activities. NOTWITHSTANDING THESE RISKS, THE CAMPERS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE VOLUNTARILY ACCESSING THE CAMPGROUND AND PARTICIPATING IN THE RECREATION ACTIVITIES WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGERS INVOLVED. THE CAMPERS HEREBY AGREE TO ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL RISKS OF ILLNESS, PERSONAL INJURY, PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY, PAIN, SUFFERING, DISABILITY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND/OR FINANCIAL LOSS ARISING THEREFROM, INCLUDING IF CAUSED BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES.

Each Camper confirms that such Camper is in good health and proper physical condition and does not have any medical or other conditions that would impair such Camper’s ability to participate in the Recreation Activities. If at any time a Camper believes conditions to be unsafe or that such Camper is no longer in proper physical condition to participate in the Recreation Activities, such Camper will immediately discontinue further participation in the Recreation Activities.

MEDICAL TREATMENT

Campers hereby consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary if such Camper is injured or requires medical attention during such Camper’s participation in the Recreation Activities or otherwise during such Camper’s stay at the Campground. Each Camper understands and agrees that such Camper is solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment and any related medical transportation and/or evacuation. Campers hereby release, forever discharge, and hold harmless the Releasees from any claim based on such treatment or other medical services.

WAIVER AND RELEASE

ALL CAMPERS HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Releasees, from any and all liability to any Camper for any loss or damage on account of injury to person (including death) or loss or damage to property relating to, or arising out of, participation in the Recreation Activities or use and occupancy of the Campground and facilities, golf carts, amenities, and the Campground’s St. Louis River access and any dangers and hazards associated with acts of nature such as changing weather conditions; high winds; thunder and lightning; temperature fluctuations; falling trees; tree limbs, ice; or encounters with wildlife.

INDEMNITY

ALL CAMPERS HEREBY JOINTLY AND SEVERALLY AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE RELEASEES, from any loss, liability, damage or cost (including attorney fees) they may incur due to injury (including death), damage or loss of property relating to use of the Campground or participation in the Recreation Activities by any Camper or due to any other incidents that may occur during the Campers’ stay at the Campground. They understand that, although Campground Management makes every reasonable effort to provide a secure environment, the security of the Campers’ person and belongings is their sole responsibility.

As a courtesy, Campground employees, if so requested, may assist with directing Campers to their designated Campsite. It is each Campers’ sole responsibility to ensure that the Campsite will accommodate their specific trailer/RV and that the Campers will not hit any branches, bollards, trees, etc. when positioning their RV on the Campsite. The Campers, jointly and severally, agree to indemnify, defend, and hold the Releasees harmless from any loss, liability, damage or cost (including attorney’s fees) that may result from a Campground employee assisting or directing a Camper onto a campsite. Furthermore, each Camper releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue the Releasees for any and all liability, loss, or property damage relating to a Campground employee assisting/directing a Camper to their site.

PAYMENT

Each Camper understands that they are and remain personally liable to pay the total amount of their reservation prior to the scheduled check-in date, or at such earlier date communicated to them.  If the Campers fail to pay the total due, the Campers agree that Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground may charge any remaining balance (in addition to any damage charges or other amounts owed under these Standard Terms and Conditions) to any credit or debit card on file with their reservation. Any amounts due after 30 days will be subject to the maximum late charge permitted under state law.

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

The Premises are privately owned and Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE to anyone for any reason except for those prohibited by law. Campground Management reserves the right to require any person or party it deems necessary, to leave the Campground based on violations of Park Rules or behavior management deems inappropriate or disturbing to others. Harassment or mistreatment of Campground staff or other guests, including but not limited to, racist comments or hate speech, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Campers have read this notice and agree to it as well as all Park Rules and regulations. In addition, the Campers understand that they are jointly and severally responsible for the actions of all persons registered in their party, including any children, and any guests that visit during their stay. The Campers grant Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground and its affiliated entities and promotional partners the right to include any photographic, video and other visual portrayals of each person in their party in any medium and for any purpose.

ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR CABIN RENTAL UNITS

Each Camper understands and agree as follows:

  • At departure, the rental unit is to be left in a reasonably clean condition (broom swept), garbage is to be removed from the rental unit and placed in an outside dumpster, all kitchens and kitchenettes are to be left clean, all dishes are to be washed and put away, and the microwave, fridge, stove and countertops are to be wiped clean; otherwise, Campground Management may charge my credit card with a $125 cleaning fee.  Each Camper understands and agrees that if they leave the rental unit in an unreasonably filthy condition, permit a pet to occupy a rental unit not designated as pet-friendly or smoke in a rental unit, Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground may charge the credit card on file for the cost to professionally clean the rental unit ($250 minimum charge).
  • Pet policy: for guests bringing pets, there is a non-refundable pet-cleaning fee of $20 for the entire stay. This fee helps cover the additional cleaning required to maintain a clean and hygienic environment of the cabins. Any pets not delcared at the time of reservation will be subject to an additional fee per pet, per campground management.

All damages to the rental unit, whether caused by a Camper, their children, guests or pets, will be disclosed to the registration office immediately or at checkout. All damages occurring to the rental unit during a Camper’s stay will be charged to the credit card on file after a thorough inspection has been made by Campground Management. Damages for which the Campers will be responsible include, but are not limited to: lost key(s), broken/lost TV/DVD/AC remote controls, broken items, discharged fire extinguishers (if not used for a fire), damaged/dented/bent appliances, furniture, cabinetry or dishes, writing on walls or bedding, and ripped or torn mattresses, sofas, or covers.

 

ANIMAL WAIVER

Campers may be permitted to have a dog or cat (“pet”) at the Campground, in the sole discretion of Campground Management. Each Camper hereby agrees to the following regulations and conditions relating to their pets while camping at the Campground with their pet.

  • Excluded Areas. I agree to keep my pets out of all areas where pets are not permitted, including, but not limited to, Shower Suites, Lodge/Ranger Station, playgrounds and pavilions.
  • Excluded Pets. I agree that the Campground has the sole discretion to exclude pets. The basis for exclusion may include, but is not limited to the following: breed-specific exclusions; due to their young age are exempted from state or local law vaccination requirements; are sick; are in heat; are aggressive, vicious, dangerous or potentially dangerous; require muzzling; or are easily frightened or sensitive, resulting in disruptive behavior (such as fighting or biting) in response to a stimulus. 
  • Supervision. I agree to keep my pet on a leash or in a carrier at all times. I further agree to have my pet with me or a designated individual at all times, and understand that I may not leave the pet unattended in the cabin or at the Campsite. I agree to prevent noise or any other disturbance by my pet, in the interest of other guests at the Campground.
  • Vaccinations. I represent and warrant that my pet is up to date on all vaccinations (including rabies and distemper) and flea treatments.
  • Disturbances. I agree that, should my pet create any disturbances, which cause complaints to be made to Campground Management by other guests or employees of the Campground, at the request of a Campground employee, I will immediately make arrangements to house my pet elsewhere outside the Campground. Additionally, I understand and agree that if I do not find alternative housing for my pet after being asked to do so, I will be asked to leave the Campground and will not be issued a refund.
  • Assumption of Risk and Release. I understand that permission to have my pet at the Campground with me is a privilege and not a contractual right. Such permission is expressly conditional upon my adherence to the terms of these rules and other Park Rules in effect at any given time. I understand that the Campground may revoke such permission at any time for any reason. Additionally, I hereby assume all responsibility of risks, injury, damage, and other harm that may occur while my pet is at the Campground or that is caused by my pet. Further, I hereby knowingly and voluntarily expressly release and discharge the Releasees from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, injuries, demands, or causes of action, both present and future, whether known, unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, that me or my guests or invitees may have against any of the Releasees arising out of or incident to my pet’s presence in the Campground, whether arising from any act or omission, whether negligent or otherwise, of me, my pet and/or any guest or invitee. I further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless each of the Releasees for any and all such claims, damages, liabilities, injuries, demands, or causes of action, including costs, expenses, and attorney’s fees arising as a result of or related to the presence of the pet at the Campground. This provision shall be enforceable to the fullest extent of the law.
  • I have read this Animal Waiver and understand it is my responsibility to abide by these rules. I further understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that the other Campers also comply with these rules. Failure to adhere to the policies and rules set forth herein may result in my removal from the Campground without a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

Each Camper understands and agrees that Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground, and its affiliated companies, do not give credit or refunds due to the discomforts of nature. Knife Island Campground refund policy varies, depending on the timing of the cancellation notice as follows:

Campsites: If a reservation is cancelled more than 7 days in advance, Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground will issue a full refund less a $25.00 cancellation fee, or a Camp Credit for the full amount of the reservation may be elected.  If a reservation is cancelled more than two days, but 7 or less days prior to arrival, a refund of 50% of the reservation is refunded, or a Camp Credit for the full amount of the reservation may be elected.  If a reservation is cancelled within two days of arrival, the full amount of the reservation payment is forfeited to Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground.

Camp Credit: Camp Credit can only be redeemed in the same calendar year as the cancelled reservation and can only be applied toward your site/cabin rental.  Unused Camp Credits are forfeited to Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground at the end of the calendar year.

 

GENERAL

  • The Releasees are not responsible for personal injuries or damage, loss or theft of any personal property or vehicle.
  • Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground reserves the right to remove any person(s) who does not comply with the Park Rules.
  • All Campers must check-in online or in the office upon arrival.
  • All Motorhomes, RVs or Travel Trailers must be in good working order and appearance. Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground reserves the right to refuse service to any camping unit which is not in good condition- at its sole discretion without penalty.  If Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground refuses such service, a refund of the deposit amount will be provided to the camper.
  • Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground reserves the right to refuse access to any guests whose vehicle is deemed to be unacceptable regardless of prior admittance.
  • Tent camping is permitted at designated RV sites with approval from Campground Management.
  • A tent is only allowed in conjunction with an RV with prior approval from Campground Management.  
  • Maximum of six people per site without prior approval of Campground Management. Additional people beyond six staying in one site will incur an extra charge of $10 per person, per night. These charges help cover the additional resources required to accommodate larger groups and maintain our facilities.
  • Visitors are welcome at guest sites, but must first register at the camp lodge.  A fee for each additional overnight guest, beyond what is declared at check-in, will be applied to the final bill.
  • Visitors must park in a designated parking area and walk into campsites.
  • Maintenance to RVs or vehicles is not allowed at the Campground.
  • The use of any paint products or chemicals is prohibited.
  • Clotheslines are not allowed.
  • Guests may not hang any items from trees without prior approval from Campground Management.
  • All sites are to be kept neat and clean for the duration of your stay.
  • All campers with reservations longer than 28 days are responsible for mowing/trimming within their site (Grass 3.5” or less).  If a site is not upkept, a service charge of $25 will be assessed to the campers account each time camp staff trims/mows.
  • Campers are responsible for transferring all trash to identified receptacles/dumpsters each day.  Campers are responsible for picking up their garbage if not placed in a receptacle and an animal gets to it.  If a camper does not immediately clean their site, a $50 fee will be assessed to their account per occurrence.
  • Only 1 RV and 1 Car is allowed at each site unless stated otherwise. Vehicles must not be parked in roadways.
  • Drones may not be used at any time at the Campground.
  • Campers shall not make any alterations to the Campsite, or any fixtures, systems, or equipment thereon.
  • Campers shall comply with any federal, state, or local law, regulation, or ordinance applicable to any activity in which they engage while at the Campground.
  • Campers agree to use the Campsite only for the recreational and vacation purposes for which it is intended. 

CHECK-IN/OUT

  • Check-In Time- All Sites:             3:00 PM
  • Check-Out Time- All Sites:             11:00 AM
  • The lodge may be able to arrange a late checkout, if available.  Additional fees may apply.  In order to ensure availability for incoming guests, please plan prompt departures.
  • The Campsite shall be left in a clean, safe condition. Campers shall remove from the Campsite all property and materials belonging to Campers, as well as all waste material created by the Campers.

SAFETY

  • Swimming is strictly at the risk of Campers.  The Campers agree to jointly and severally hold harmless the Releasees, from any claim of injury while swimming.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY AT THE RIVER.
  • The use of firearms of any kind is PROHIBITED.
  • Fireworks of any kind are PROHIBITED.
  • Use of illegal drugs is PROHIBITED and is grounds for immediate expulsion from the Campground and complete forfeiture of payment to Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground.
  • Speed limit at the Campground is 5 mph.
  • Motorcycles must be in idle speed within the Campground.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • No vehicles may block any portion of roadway, and must park in designated spaces only.
  • Only persons with valid driver’s license may operate a motor vehicle in the Campground, including golf carts, scooters, etc.
  • Vandalism of any kind by anyone in your group (regardless of age) is cause for immediate expulsion from the Campground and complete forfeiture of payment to Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground.

INCIDENT REPORTING

Any event which causes or could have caused injury or illness to any person, or any damage to equipment, vehicles, property, material, or the environment, in, to, or near the Campground, regardless of the cause of such damage or injury, shall be promptly reported to Campground Management by Campers. Campers shall take such actions in relation to such an incident as Campground Management may instruct in its sole discretion.

SECURITY 

  • Management is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles.  Keep your valuables locked up.
  • Report any problems or concerns to the Lodge immediately.
  • Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground adheres to and maintains all state, county and local laws at the Campground.

QUIET HOURS

  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.
  • Please be courteous to other guests around you.
  • Loud music or objectionable noise is not allowed at any time.
  • Inconsiderate guests will be removed from the Campground.
  • Profanity or violence towards other guests or staff will result in immediate expulsion with forfeiture of payment to Lanari Ross Inc. d/b/a Knife Island Campground.

Refund Policy

Manager/Owner reserves the right to have discretion on all refunds. 

There will be no refunds after you have checked in, for inclement weather, failure to follow the Rules & Regulations, or disorderly conduct.
