Log Lake Park Information and Rules

Caretakers) are present to collect camping fees, assign campsites, and general oversight of the park. The Caretaker has available: Bathhouse tokens (no coins) available for purchase with caretaker; First Aid Supplies; Telephone for Emergency Use only. Wood and limited camping supplies for sale.

CARETAKER/STORE HOURS: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Thursday thru Monday.

BATHHOUSE HOURS: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

CAMPSITE: Water is provided at each end of the park; garbage must be placed in the dumpster by the shower house; the yellow containers below ground level are for waste water only; you cannot leave your campfire unattended; no person is allowed to walk, drive a vehicle into or through a campsite unless they are a registered camper and the vehicle belongs to a person visiting a registered camper; a campsite must be occupied by at least one member of the registered campsite and no campsite may be unattended for more than 16 hours; only one (1) camper per site and maximum one (1) additional sleeping tent for fee of $12.00 per reservation. Any canopy or screened tents (non-sleeping) may be an exception as determined by the Caretaker; it is the sole responsibility of the camper/owner/visitor to have sufficient personal property insurance on all property brought onto county park property. Kalkaska County is not responsible for any damage or theft incurred on county property regardless of the cause. Maximum 14-night stay. Minimum 1-night stay except holiday weekends will require minimum 2-night stay.

SPEED LIMIT/PARKING: Please drive or ride slowly at all times. Watch for children and adults crossing the road. SPEED LIMIT IS 5 MPH. No bicycles or other vehicles are allowed on the beach, picnic area or on the walk way by the shower house.

QUIET HOURS: No use of loudspeaker, public address system or sound-amplified equipment of any kind, except for an electronic game-calling device that is lawfully used while hunting; no operation of a motor, motorboat, motor vehicle, generator, radio, television, any other device in a manner that produces unreasonable or excessive noise, creates a disturbance or annoyance to another person at any time, day or night. The hours of 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM are designated as "Quiet Hours" and no person shall operate any of the above-mentioned items or create any noise in a manner that could be heard beyond the campsite being occupied.


PETS: All pets must be kept caged or on a leash (maximum 6' length). They are not allowed in the water, on the beach or in the picnic area. Comfort animals are considered pets. Pets are to be walked away from the campsites and you are responsible for cleaning up after your pets.

SWIMMING: There is NO lifeguard at the beach; SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK no designated SWIM AREA; NO glass containers are allowed on the beach at any time. Swim hours are from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.


PUBLIC USE/GENERAL/VISITORS: The picnic area, beach and ball park are for everyone's use. Campers - do not use pavilions without permission or reservations. There is a rental fee for using pavilions. Do not remove tables from pavilions. There can be no damage to the trees or any other park property. No smoking, use of smokeless tobacco products or electronic vaping is allowed on the beach, small pavilion or other public areas. There will be no violent, abusive, loud, boisterous, vulgar, lewd or otherwise disorderly conduct; or to lounge, sit, or lie upon the walks, stairs, roads or paths obstructing the free passage of another person. There will be no inoperable vehicles on grounds. There shall not be entrance by visitors or remaining in the campground or day-use area between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Any person must depart the park after being required to do so by the caretaker or a law enforcement officer. No person shall use or ignite fireworks: "Fireworks" include Chinese lanterns or similar device, as well as all definitions included in the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act, PA 256 of 2011, being CL 28.451, et seq. Events including but not limited to: races, endurance contests, tournaments, trail rides or exclusive use of the pavilions, may be held if rented and pursuant to permit requirements. The permit may include a charge to the sponsor or permittee for the use of the land. The permit may also require an indemnification agreement by the sponsor or permittee. An event or pavilion use may require public liability insurance. The County may waive the requirement for a permit for events or pavilion use if the County determines that the event will not require additional County oversight and event will have minimal impact of the use of the lands by others. Violation of these rules may result in revocation of permission to remain in the park and/or removal from the park with a forfeiture of all fees paid. A person who is removed, evicted or leaves the park at the request of the caretaker or law enforcement officer shall not be permitted to use or enter any part of the park for a period of 30 days. This provision shall not limit the County's right to further prohibit use or entry in to the Park or upon County property.

CANCELATION POLICY: Reservations are to be paid in full at time of booking. If reservation is canceled more than 14 days before arrival, 50% of payment will be refunded. If reservation is canceled within 14 days of arrival, no refund will be given. No shows or early departures will not receive a refund
