Moffit Lake Recreation Area

MOFFIT LAKE RECREATIONAL AREA POLICIES

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT:  All reservations must stop at the office, sign in, and we will make a copy of your drivers license.

You must be 18-years-old with a valid I.D. to hold a reservation. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. CST and entitles you to a designated site until 11:00 a.m. the day of check-out. (Although you may check in online, all reservations MUST stop in and check in at the office.) Early check-in may be available upon request. You must contact the office to verify an early arrival. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. CST. Late check-out will incur a fee of $25.00. Please contact the office as you check-out, So we can prepare for our next guest. Late check-ins are allowed but please contact the park prior to arrival for instructions.

Holiday rental check-out times may differ; contact the office for details.

Any outstanding balances for reservations will be auto-charged to the card on file 14 days prior to check-in.

OPEN FIRES:

Fires must be in firepits or designated fire rings. Fires must be fully extinguished prior to ending your night. Portable fire pits are available for guests on a first-come first-served basis. Firewood is offered for sale at the office, subject to availability.

SITE AND PARK NAVIGATION:

Please be respectful of your neighbor and do not walk between sites when navigating the park. Please use main roads, sidewalks and designated public paths to walk around the campground.

SITE CHANGES:

You have been assigned a specific site. Due to reservations and maintenance, moving may not be possible. Please contact the office before moving sites.

WASHING RVs AND VEHICLES:

Washing of RVs and vehicles is only permitted with one (1) bucket of water and a sponge. Hose washing is not permitted as it can result in a mess and disturb your neighbors.

GENERAL PARK POLICIES

CHILDREN:

Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Riding bicycles without an adult on the main entrance road is prohibited for the safety of your children and our incoming guests. Please do not let children climb trees as it damages them. The playgrounds, basketball court and volleyball court close at dusk.

ELECTRICAL USE:

You are responsible for understanding how many amps are used in your RV. Amp usage over the 50 AMPs provided can trip the breaker. Please be mindful of your usage.

Please notify the office should you have any electrical issues during your stay. Per insurance and safety requirements, guests are not permitted to diagnose our electrical pedestals. Laws prohibit you from working on our pedestals unless hired to do so.

FISHING:

Fishing is included with a paid reservation. Permits for visitors without a paid reservation are $5.00 per day or $65.00 per season pass. NO NETS are allowed at Moffit Lake. This is strictly enforced, and you will be asked to leave if caught using nets.

LOST/STOLEN/DAMAGED ITEMS:

Moffit Lake Recreational Area is not responsible for personal injuries, damage, loss or theft of any personal property or vehicles including campers. Please make sure you have all belongings prior to checking out.

  • We reserve the right to evict any person who does not comply with the policies.
  • A $10.00 fee will be assessed for lost cabin keys.
  • You are responsible for any damages incurred during your stay and will be charged accordingly.
  • Use of illegal drugs is strictly PROHIBITED.

PLAYGROUND:

Playgrounds open at 8:00 a.m. and close at dusk. Anyone under 18 must be supervised in these areas at all times. Failure to follow these rules may result in you being asked to leave without a refund.

QUIET TIME:

Quiet time is 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Please be mindful of respective music and language as a courtesy to your neighbor. Anyone playing loud music will be warned only once and then asked to leave without a refund.

Friday and Saturday night quiet time is extended until 11:00 p.m.

REPAIRS:

Repairs to RVs and vehicles are not permitted within the park.

RESTROOMS:

For the comfort of all guests, restrooms are open 24/7 except for daily cleaning. Children must be supervised at all times while in the restrooms. We ask for your help in keeping the restrooms clean.

SAFETY AND EMERGENCIES:

Emergency Contact Information forms are required from all monthly guests. This information remains private and used only in the event of an emergency or if sought by law enforcement agencies.

If you need to call 911 for any reason, and time allows, please call the office so the maintenance staff can be prepared to escort the emergency personnel to your site.

SEVERE WEATHER:

In case of severe weather, seek shelter in the bathrooms. Signs for shelter areas are posted. We love pets, so please bring them with you and do not leave them at your site during severe weather warnings. 
Refunds will not be issued due to early departure, inclement weather, or conditions out of our control.


TRASH DISPOSAL:

Trash cans are located throughout the park. Please tie trash bags completely closed and place in a trash container. Do NOT place trash on the ground. Trash is emptied once per day to help avoid nuisance issues.

Dumpsters are available in the boat ramp parking lot. Do NOT dispose of any motor oil, cooking oil, wires, furniture, mattresses, or any toxic/hazardous waste items. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in charges for disposal fees.

VISITORS:

We reserve the right to remove any person(s) from the park due to activities deemed inappropriate.

PET POLICIES

BARKING:

Excessive barking disturbs your neighbors and is not tolerated. Please note that excessive barking may result in you being asked to leave without a refund.

CLEANING UP AFTER PETS:

Be a good neighbor and always clean up after your pet. Do not let your pet deposit waste on any of the other guests’ sites. Failure to clean up after your pet will result in being asked to leave without a refund.

LEASH:

Always keep your pets on a leash. This helps you, your pet, and other guests stay safe. There is zero tolerance for pet misbehavior. If your pet bites or attacks someone or their pet, they may no longer stay on the property.

LEAVING PETS UNATTENDED:

Pets are not to be left unattended in the park. Leaving pets unattended is dangerous as many factors, including weather, power outages, etc., can affect your pet’s wellbeing while you are away.

PETS NOT ALLOWED IN DELUXE OR PREMIUM CABINS:

Pets are not allowed in our deluxe or premium cabins except pursuant to law. Anyone not adhering to this policy will be fined.

Pets are NOT allowed in the Moffit Lake Office except pursuant to law.

VACCINATIONS:

Due to insurance requirements, all pets within the park must be vaccinated and up to date.

VEHICLE POLICIES

PARKING:

Please limit vehicles at sites to two (2). Trailers and extra vehicles should be parked at the boat ramp. Ruts caused at your site due to additional vehicles will result in damage charges.

No Parking In/On: Wet grass, common areas, middle of the road, unregistered/adjacent sites.

Please do not block maintenance garage or bathroom entrances.

SIDE-BY-SIDES AND GOLF CARTS:

Side-by-sides and golf carts are welcome at Moffit Lake Recreational Area. It is preferred that you stay on the paved or gravel paths. If you need to take your side-by-side or golf cart down to the lake, please do so in a manner that will not damage our property. If the area is wet or muddy, please remain on the paths. Rutting the grass will not be tolerated.

No loud pipes permitted on side-by-sides or golf carts.

SPEED LIMIT:

The park speed limit is 15 mph. This policy is to keep you, your children, and your pets safe. Exceeding the speed limit will result in a warning. Multiple warnings will require us to ask you to leave. Safety is the number one priority for our guests.
