Located on the Van Hook Arm of North Dakota's Lake Sakakawea, Van Hook Resort is your destination for summer fun! Van Hook offers free boater access to the lake, and the day-use facilities are open to the public. Incredible fishing draws guests from around the state as Van Hook is well known as the “walleye nursery of Sakakawea.” As soon as the ice melts in the spring, anglers flock to this destination to take part in some of the best fishing that Lake Sakakawea has. No boat? No problem. Acres of shoreline make “The Hook” an ideal place for shore fishing. The park is full of amenities such as beaches, basketball & volleyball courts, horseshoes, a picnic pavilion, a vast playground, fish cleaning stations, ADA boat loading ramp, courtesy docks, well-stocked bait and tackle shop, gas station and a convenience store. You can find Van Hook seven miles east of New Town, two miles south of the junction of Highway 23 and Highway 8. Stay at Vanhook for all of your summer fun and fishing!
