A campsite's occupancy is limited to one camping group of six people or less, one camping shelter, and two vehicles. Additional persons, shelters, or vehicles are permitted only with the prior approval of park management.

A person other than a campground host may not camp in the same site for more than 14 days in succession, provided that the City of Morris may allow camping for additional days when use conditions warrant.

Guests shall not use power units to generate electricity between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., nor at other hours of the day if the operation causes a disturbance for other visitors.

Camping permits expire at 3 p.m., and guests shall vacate the site by 4 p.m. On departure, the campsite shall be left neat and clean.

Campsite Maintenance:

The City of Morris mows all campsites on Wednesday of each week.

Guests must have everything off the grass each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(This includes water lines and electrical hookups)

Fires and Refuse

Building or maintaining a fire in the Pomme de Terre campground or day-use area is unlawful except in a fireplace or a fire ring provided for that purpose. However, portable gas- or liquid-fueled camp stoves or charcoal burners may be used within a camping or day-use area if the use does not create a hazard or danger to the area or others. Disobeying a park emplyee when ordered to extinguish a fire in any location is unlawful.

(Park guests shall only use locally sourced or DNR-approved firewood within the park)

Parking

Parking on the grass is not permitted. Registered guests must park only in designated areas and spaces provided in the campground.

Motorized Vehicle Use

Park guests may only travel within Pomme de Terre Park in motor vehicles licensed for use on Minnesota highways.

Park guests may operate licensed vehicles only on designated roads and parking areas. They may park only in designated parking areas. Parking in an area not defined as a parking area is prohibited. It subjects the vehicle to being towed at the owner's expense.

(The City of Morris prohibits parking in grassy areas, including the campground area. Overflow parking areas are available)

(The City of Morris does not permit using ATVs, golf carts, or other motorized vehicles within the park on grassy areas, sidewalks, or bike paths. The City of Morris shall require the removal of persons and vehicles involved for the misuse of motorized vehicles of any kind.)

Special Events

Guests may not host special events in city parks except with a written permit from the City of Morris obtained prior to the event.

The City of Morris shall establish and charge fees for special events and commercial uses of city parks. The City of Morris shall set fees to recoup the costs of developing, operating, and maintaining facilities necessary for the specified uses or to prevent or mitigate resource impacts of those uses.

The City of Morris may require sponsors or permittees of special events or commercial uses to furnish a certificate of liability insurance valid for the effective dates of the permit, listing the state of Minnesota as a named insured.

The City of Morris may require sponsors or permittees of special events or commercial uses to provide security such as a bond or cashier's check to ensure the completion of appropriate cleanup measures, signs removal, damage repair, and other required actions.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking/Vaping:

Consuming or displaying intoxicating liquors in Pomme De Terre park and recreation areas is limited to containers no larger than 1 liter and not made of glass. The City of Morris requires a permit to possess 3:2 beer in a keg or alcohol container larger than 1 liter.

State laws apply to the possession and use of drugs. Per City ordinance, there is no smoking/vaping on City property, including campground and parks as well as within 30 feet of any entrance to City property.

Pets

Pets are welcome in Pomme de Terre Park if they are kept on a leash six feet or shorter, and park guests attend to them at all times. Only service animals are allowed in buildings, including shelters and bathrooms.

Pet waste deposited in mowed or maintained areas must be immediately cleaned up by the pet owner or caretaker and deposited in an appropriate waste container.

Animals shall not disrupt other persons or deprive them of using an area.

Uncrewed aircraft systems/Drones

The City of Morris prohibits using uncrewed aircraft in Pomme De Terre Park, recreation areas, and day-use areas because of the impracticality of their operation under existing rules. Uncrewed aircraft or drones are defined as "aircraft" by the Federal Aviation Administration. It is unlawful to land any aircraft on lands or water totally within the boundaries of any city park, recreation area, or day-use area. Because of the prohibition on "landing," operating uncrewed aircraft in these areas is impractical. The division is also concerned about the impact of uncrewed aircraft on natural resources (especially wildlife), buildings and infrastructure, and other visitors' safety, privacy, and quality of experience.
