Welcome to the Van Buren Recreation Area/Fairfield Bay Campground
Cancellation Policy:
We are happy to provide a full refund less a $10.00 processing fee for cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the reservation start date. All cancellations made during those 7 days will not be issued a refund.
Park Terms and Conditions:
Check-In/Check Out
- Check-in time is at 2 pm and entitles you to your site until 12 am the day after check-in. Early check-in is not permitted. The guests who paid for the site the night before you have paid for their site until noon. We will not ask a guest to leave so that you can check -n early. If you will be arriving in the area early, please make arrangements until your site opens at noon. We do not have a waiting area for those who check in early. You do not need to contact the office for checkout unless you need to pay for an after-hours check-in.
- Late check-ins are allowed at any time, please just contact the park for instructions.
Site Changes
- You have been assigned a specific site, if you wish to move, please check with the office. Due to reservations and maintenance, moving may not be possible. Please inquire before moving sites.
Open fires
- Open fires are not allowed in the park. Fires must be in firepits or designated fire rings.
Parking
- Please do not park your vehicle, trailer, or boat in an adjacent site. Use of more than one site will result in additional charges.
- Overflow parking is available for your boat, trailer, ATV/UTV, and etc., during your camping dates only, so please contact the office if needed.
Site and Park Navigation
- Please be respectful of your neighbor and do not walk between sites when navigating the park. Please use main roads, sidewalks, and designated public paths to walk around the campground.
Pet Policies
- We ask that you keep your pets on a leash at all times. This helps you, your pet, other guests, and other guests’ pets stay safe.
- Be a good neighbor and please do not let your pet deposit waste on your site or any of our other guests’ sites. Failure to clean up after your pet will result in you being asked to leave without a refund.
- Pets may not be left unattended in our park. Please do not tie your pet to a tree and leave. Leaving your pets unattended is dangerous for your pet as many factors including weather, power outages, etc. can affect your pet's well-being while you are away.
Vehicle Policies
Speed limit
- The park speed limit is 5-20 mph. This policy keeps you, your children, and your pets safe. Exceeding this speed limit will result in a warning. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if this rule is not adhered to. Safety is our number one priority for our guests.
Parking
- Park only in designated areas. Parking in the dirt or grass areas is not permitted. Do not block the road. Do not park in sites that you did not register for and do not block entrance to any structure in the park.
- A nightly registration covers 1 RV/Trailer and 2 vehicles only. Parking is available for visitors and guests to your site and they must purchase a $5.00 per day use pass and park in campground parking areas.
- ATVs, UTVs, and Golf Carts are allowed in the park but must adhere to the same rules as a motor vehicle. ATV, UTV, and golf carts are not allowed on dirt or grass areas and are to remain only on the paved roads within the campground.
General Park Policies
Severe Weather
- In case of severe weather, the camp hosts will instruct you as to where you need to go to seek shelter. Do not leave pets at your site. Bring them with you.
Visitors/Guests
- Only registered guests are permitted to enter the park. All visitors and guests must stop at the guard shack/office and receive a day-use permit.
Electrical Use
- You are responsible for understanding how many amps you are using. Amp usage over what is provided can trip your breaker. Please be mindful of your amp usage, so that you don’t trip your breaker during your stay. Please notify the office so that we can notify maintenance if you have electrical issues during your stay. Guests are not permitted to diagnose our electrical pedestals per insurance and safety requirements. Maintenance is happy to help. Even if you are an electrician, laws prohibit you from working on our electrical unless you are hired to do so.
Restrooms
- For the comfort of all our guests, restrooms are open 24/7 except for a temporary closing for cleaning once per day. We ask for your help in keeping the restrooms clean, please. Guests under the age of 18 need adult supervision in the bathrooms and showers. You will be issued a passcode for the showers when you check in the office.
Quiet Time Policies
- Quiet time is 10 pm to 6 am. Anyone playing loud music, dogs barking, etc. will be warned only once and then asked to leave without a refund.
Swimming Area
- No live guard on duty.
- No swimming or diving from the dock.
- Parents must supervise their children at all times.
- We do not recommend swimming alone.
Trash Disposal
- Dumpsters are located by the dump station and at the entrance to the campground. Please tie trash bags completely closed and put your trash completely in the trash container. Please do not place your trash on the ground. Woodland creatures like possums and raccoons are attracted to left out or disposed of food and while we think they are cute and wonderful animals; we don’t want you to find a surprise night visiting raccoon at your site because of incorrectly disposed of trash. Do not dispose of wires, oil, furniture, mattresses, or any toxic waste or chemicals in our trash cans. Trash is emptied as needed and varies due to maintenance scheduling.
Children
- An adult must supervise children under 18 at all times. Horseplay, running, or playing on the dock by the swim area is not permitted.
Safety and Emergencies
- If you observe any activity you believe to be of concern, call 501-884-6011 to report the activity. If there is no answer you may call the Fairfield Bay police at 501-884-6005 during the day and after hours call 911.
