Wheelock Lake Campground Rules and Regulations
A. General
(Please see sections B-K for more details description)
1. Check In: 2pm Check Out:11am
2. Quiet Hours are 11pm-8am.
3. All children 14 & under must be accompanied by an adult over 18.
4. The speed limit is 5MPH for ALL vehicles.
5. Parking permits are required for all vehicles.
6. Parking in grass, roads, or vacant lots is prohibited see Section F.
7. Only 1 RV and a maximum of 2 vehicles allowed per site.
8. The overnight occupancy limit per site is 8 people and 2 pets.
9. Golf Carts, Off-Road Vehicle (ORV), ATV, Razors, Dirt bikes, etc. see Section F.
10. All fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming require signed release forms see Section D.
11. Campfires permitted in fire rings only. Fire Rings are not to be moved.
12. Garbage is to be disposed of in dumpster.
13. Do not leave trash uncovered or out overnight. No burning of trash.
14. Trash, brush, and other debris must be cleaned from the site before guests leave, if not charges may be applied to member/guest account.
15. Misuse of utilities will result in fines, this includes but not limited to watering gravel, washing vehicles without permission, filling pools or hot tubs, etc.
16. Cancellations are subject to at least a $15 fee.
17. Cancellations within 3 days of check-in or later are not eligible for refunds.
18. Members and Guests are responsible for any damage or injury caused by themselves, their children, their visitors, and/or pets.
19. Wheelock Lake Campground reserves the right to charge campers’ credit cards for fees and fines related to rule or policy violations as soon as these fees or fines are incurred.

B. Members & Guests
1. Check In: 2pm Check Out:11am
a. All Guests must check in at the office upon arrival.
b. There will be a charge of $25 for early check-in or late check-out.
2. Members & Guests are responsible for any damage or injury caused by themselves, their children, their guest, and/or pets.
a. The campground is not responsible for personal injuries or damage, loss or theft of any personal property or vehicle.
b. Members & Guest assume any risks associated with the foregoing and agree to hold the campground harmless from and indemnify the campground against the same.
(A) Please refrain from:
(1) Walking or riding vehicles through someone else’s campsite.
(2) Riding a bicycle and non-licensed vehicles recklessly and after dark
(with or without headlights)
(3) Using profane language
(4) Cutting limbs or trees
(a) Please let the office know if this is needing addressed.
(5) Vandalism of any sort
3. Public intoxication that creates a nuisance, diminished self-control, or a disturbance to others will lead to law enforcement’s involvement and ejection from the property.
a. Alcohol must remain at the campsite and is not to be carried into any building.
4. Possession or use of firearms, illegal drugs, or contraband will be reason for immediate removal from the campground.
a. Weapons such as BB guns, sling shots, bows and arrows are prohibited from being used on property for any reason.
b. Use of Fireworks by Guest or Contracted Individuals are prohibited.
5. Tents are limited to a maximum of one per site unless otherwise stated.
a. Tents are $10 per night per RV lot.
(A) Lot occupancy limits do not change with the addition of a tent.
(B) If you would like to accommodate more guests, you may rent another lot to put a large tent on which will allow up to 4 extra guests for a fee of $35.
Contract individuals are allowed to have one tent per site at no charge but must not exceed the occupancy rules.
b. Blowup mattresses, sleeping bags, and cots are not allowed outside.
6. All fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming require signed release forms.
a. Please stop by the office to make sure you have one on file with us.
(A) If you are found to not have a signed release form, this will result in a $25 fine.
b. Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
7. Disposal of campsite trash is guests’ responsibility.
a. Fee of $100 for misuse of disposal units.
b. Trash is prohibited from being placed and burned in fire rings.
c. All trash must be bagged (boxes broken down) and placed inside the dumpster.
d. Please be sure to start at the back opening and move forward when disposing of trash so that all guests can dispose of their trash.
e. Do not leave trash out or uncovered overnight.
f. Large items such as appliances, carpets, rugs, chairs, mattresses, televisions, etc. should be disposed of elsewhere.
g. Ask the office where to dispose of leaves, limbs, grass clippings, ashes, etc. as the burn pile is not for community use.
8. Misuse of utilities will result in a $100 fine.
a. Utility & water usage for portable swimming pools, sprinklers, or water recreation is prohibited.
b. Power washing, or hand washing of trailers decks etc. is prohibited Friday-Monday unless you have approval.
c. Using water to wet down gravel is also prohibited.
d. Altering utility connection is prohibited.
e. Campground reserves the right to disallow use of campground utilities to anyone who is abusing, misusing, damaging, or otherwise not properly using them.
Contract individuals needing something altered or requesting to wash RV can see management to get approval.
9. Disposal of black or gray water on the ground is in violation of state health codes and will result in fines for utility misuse and eviction from the property.
a. Any damage caused to park grounds, sites, tables, trees, etc. will result in immediate eviction and will require you to pay all damages including repair, replacement, and labor costs.
b. Refunds will not be issued to those being evicted.
C. Visitors of Members & Guest
1. Occupancy of each site for overnight is limited to 8 people & 2 pets.
a. Children aged 14 and under must always be accompanied by an older child or adult in recreation areas.
b. Children under 18 must be with their parents/guardians on the campsite at 10pm.
2. Only 4 extra guests are permitted per site to visit.
a. They must check in between 11am & 6pm and are not permitted to stay past 11pm.
b. They must stop by the office to register and obtain a parking pass.
(A) Permits to fish, boat, kayak, or swim are $5 each.
(B) If you have a special occasion and need to accommodate more guests, please speak with the office.
3. Visitor parking is located south of the office near the dumpsters.
D. Recreational Activities: Must have signed release on file with the office.
1. Fishing (Catch & Release Only) is included in the campsite fee.
a. It is available to all visitors of guest for an additional fee of $5 per day.
(Does not pertain to MEMBERS)
b. Fishing is permitted anywhere on the Lake that is 10 feet from the bank, except for the Beach area.
(A) Fishing within 20 feet of the Beach is prohibited.
c. Worms or artificial lures may be used (use of live minnows is restricted) as bait.
d. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
2. Beach Swimming is included in the campsite fee of party that purchased site.
a. It is available for visitors of guests for an additional fee of $5.
(Does not pertain to MEMBERS)
b. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
3. Kayaking & Paddle boating are permitted.
a. Use of life safety equipment is highly recommended.
b. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
E. Quiet Hours and Noise
1. Quiet hours are from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
a. Excessive noise will not be tolerated.
b. Children under 18 must be at the campsite at 10PM.
c. Quiet hours apply to pets.
d. Excessively loud music or objectionable noise is not allowed at any time.
2. Non-quiet time noise, i.e. music, voices, vehicles, pets, etc. must be kept at reasonable levels.
Violators will receive 1 verbal warning. If found breaking this rule a second time guest will be asked to leave the park.
F. Moving Vehicles and Parking
1. The speed limit is 5MPH, this goes for all Vehicles, Golfcarts, ORV, ATV, Dirt bikes, etc.
2. No Vehicle repairs permitted, if you have a mechanical issue, please contact the office.
3. Visitor parking is located south of the office near the dumpsters.
4. Driving vehicles through grass is prohibited except when headed to the trails.
a. You may park smaller vehicles such as ATVs, dirt bikes, and golf carts in the grass on your lot if there is not sufficient room on the gravel.
5. Only 2 vehicles per site.
a. Parking in vacant sites, grass, or on roads is not permitted. Extra parking is located by the Office and Shower House.
b. Vehicles parked on roadways or other non-designated areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.
6. Golfcarts are permitted for an annual fee of $25 per cart.
Individuals with contracts are provided with 1 golf cart permit per lot with contract, more may be purchased if needed.
a. Must be driven by those 16+ with a valid driver’s license; Those with permits must have an adult with them.
b. Children must be accompanied by adults while on a golf cart.
c. Those 16 or older with a valid driver’s license do not need an adult present but agree to abide by all the rules that apply and must have a signed release on file at the office.
d. Total people riding should not exceed the capacity the cart is designed for.
e. NO standing, surfing, or hanging is permitted.
7. Off-Road Vehicles (ORV) are permitted for an annual fee of $25 per vehicle.
This includes but is not limited to ATVs, UTV, side-by-side vehicles, and dirt bikes.
Individuals with contracts are provided with 1 Off-Road Vehicle permit per lot with contract, more may be purchased if needed.
a. All children under 18 years are always to be accompanied by an adult and required to wear a helmet on or in any ORV.
b. This law applies both to public and private property. It does not apply to golf carts.
(A) Under the law, owners of ORVs who allow children younger than the age of 18 to ride their ORV on public or private property without wearing an approved helmet can be charged with a Class C infraction, which carries a maximum penalty of $500.
c. Drivers understand that vehicles shall be driven from the lot to the trails only and that use between the hours of 10pm & 10am is prohibited.
d. Kicking gravel and inappropriate driving of any kind is prohibited.
e. Total people riding should not exceed the capacity the cart is designed for.
Violators will receive 1 verbal warning; additional infractions will result in removal of vehicle for rest of the season.
G. Pet Policy
1. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose pet is NOT considered suitable for the serenity/safety of our guests or the Campground.
2. Pets are the responsibility of the owner, which is liable for any harm or damage done by their pet to anyone or anything on the campground.
3. Pets must be kept on a leash and under the control of someone who can always manage them.
4. Limit 2 pets per lot.
5. Cats and dogs are the only pets allowed.
a. Cats must always be kept inside campers or have a collar with a tag on it.
6. Pets should not be left outside unattended.
7. Do not leave food outside for animals.
8. Guests are responsible for cleaning up feces after their pets.
a. Failure to clean up after pets will result in a $25 clean up fee each time.
(A) Third time you will be asked to leave.
9. Guests are responsible for any disturbances caused by animals they bring with them.
a. If found to create substantial disturbance or safety threat to other patrons by campground staff, owner will be asked to remove pet immediately.
10. Dogs must be vaccinated for rabies, and all reservations longer than one month require up to date vaccination records and given to management for each pet.
11. Campground is not responsible for and will hold pet owner(s) accountable for any injury or damage caused by pets.
H. Lot Improvements
1. Lot, RV, and buildings must be in clean condition.
2. RVs are required to be in good working condition and complete operational condition which includes proper water, sewer, wheels, and current registration.
3. Lot should be free from junk, scrap, indoor furniture, refrigerator, etc.
4. The maximum shed size is 12x16 and must have approval.
5. Tarp’s, Plastic, or other material is prohibited for use as shelter, wind blocker, sun blocker, rain blocker, etc. NO CLOTHES LINES PERMITTED.
6. Washing of Vehicles, ORV, Golf carts, RV, etc. are not permitted unless you have prior approval from the office.
7. Damage to campground utilities will result in a $100 fine and cost of parts & labor.
a. Wheelock Lake Campground reserves the right to disallow use of campground utilities to anyone who is abusing, misusing, damaging, or otherwise not properly using them.
8. No digging in the grounds. This is STRICTLY PROHIBITED due to buried utilities.
Individuals with contracts understand that before adding any item such as decks, sheds, fences, trees, bushes, flowers, etc. must get approval from management by providing a detailed description of the project and will wait for approval. The individual also understands that anything being placed in the ground becomes property of the campground. Contract individuals interested in advertising their camper or items for sale must check with management before doing so to follow proper procedures.
I. Safety
1. The speed limit is 5MPH.
2. Fires must be in designated spaces such as fire pits, rock circles, fire rings, or grills.
a. A $100.00 fee will be imposed for relocating the fire ring without permission.
3. Fires must be well-contained inside their designated spaces.
4. Campfires with flames reaching over 4 foot tall will be asked to be extinguished.
5. Campfires must be supervised until they have burned down.
6. Do not burn anything other than firewood.
7. Fireworks of any kind are prohibited.
8. Use of illegal drugs is prohibited.
9. Obnoxious behavior is prohibited.
10. The use of archery, pellet or bb guns, paintball guns, slingshots, or air guns is prohibited.
11. Motorcycles must be at idle speed when traveling through the campground.
12. Children 14 and under must be with an adult while around the lake or beach area.
13. No vehicles can block any portion of the roadway.
14. Only people with a valid driver’s license may operate a motor vehicle in the campground, including golf carts, scooters, razors, etc.
15. Threats or violence towards other guests or staff will result in immediate eviction from the campground.
16. Vandalism of any kind by anyone in your group (regardless of age) may result in eviction from the campground, fees, and criminal charges.
J. Security
1. Management is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles. Keep your valuables locked up.
2. Report any problems with your site to the office immediately.
3. All vehicles must display a campground car pass.
4. All golf carts and ORV must display permits.
5. We adhere to and maintain all federal, state, county, and local laws on property.
a. To stay at the campground, all campers, guests, and residents must do the same.
K. Winterization Policy
1. From November 15 until March 15, and during any other periods of freezing weather, it is required that all members and guests using Wheelock Lake's water utilities insulate their water hoses by either using pipe heating cable/heat tape or a heated hose.
a. Heat tape must be affixed to the hose so that it is in contact with the hose for the entire length of the hose.
b. Heat tape and heated hoses must be in good working condition and must have a steady, sufficient supply of electricity to ensure proper operation.
c. Failure to comply with this policy may result in damage to Wheelock Lake Campground's water utilities, and, by renting a lot at Wheelock Lake, campers and guests assume responsibility for covering the cost for both parts and labor to repair said damage if it occurs.
d. Anyone caught violating this policy may be fined $100.
(A) Multiple violations or refusal to comply may result in reservations being terminated and those in violation being removed from the park.
L. Cancellation/Refunds/No Show Policy
1. A reservation loses eligibility for refunds when a guest checks in for that reservation.
2. All cancellations are subject to at least a $15 fee regardless of how far in advance the cancellation is made before the check-in date.
a. Reservations canceled less than one week but at least three days prior to the check-in date will be charged a $25 fee.
b. Reservations canceled within three days or less of check-in or later are not eligible for refunds.
3. We have a ZERO CANCELLATION POLICY for Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, and Halloween weekend.
a. These reservations are 100% NON-REFUNDABLE.
4. Reservations will be on hold up to check-out time the day after the scheduled arrival date.
5. No shows will result in a canceled reservation and full forfeiture of funds.
Contracted Individuals who pay fee to hold their lot in November for the following year are not eligible for a refund if they choose not to stay for following season.
WHEELOCK LAKE CAMPGROUND IS A PRIVATELY OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT OF SERVICE(S) TO ALL PERSON(S), GROUP(S), AND ORGANIZATION(S). ANY DISREGARD FOR RULES/REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EVICTION/REMOVAL FROM GROUNDS. WE ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHARGE CAMPERS’ CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD ON FILE FOR FEES AND FINES RELATED TO RULE OR POLICY VIOLATIONS AS SOON AS THESE FEES OR FINES ARE INCURRED.
