Start your summer at Rural Retreat Lake Campground this Memorial Day Weekend. From hands-on crafts and tie-dye to live music, a poolside cookout, and a movie under the stars, the weekend is packed with activities for all ages. Wrap it up with the Memorial Day Bike Parade and enjoy one of Wythe County’s favorite seasonal traditions. Friday, May 22 2–6 p.m. – Tie-Dye at Craft Corner (until 6 p.m.) 4 p.m. – Chalk It Up! (until 5:30 p.m.) 9 p.m. – Movie Under the Stars: Space Balls (Pool Field) Saturday, May 23 4 p.m. – Dive In & Cook-Out (at the pool) 5 p.m. – Bike Parade Prep (Craft Corner) 6 p.m. – Live Music featuring Flashback: The Party Band (Shelter 3) Sunday, May 24 1:30 p.m. – Memorial Day Bike Parade Line-up begins at 1:15 p.m.

Liberty at the Lake Festival

Join Wythe County and Wythe County Parks and Recreation for Liberty at the Lake, a three-day Independence Weekend Festival, July 3–5, 2026. This long-anticipated celebration marks the return of a signature Fourth of July tradition at the lake Admission is FREE.
