Why should I book with Campspot?

I want to go camping near me. Can I search by my current location?

Yes! You do not have to enter a location or dates to start exploring. Simply press the "Search" button and results will populate automatically with your current location.

Am I able to book multiple campsites in one transaction?

Yes! Complete the process to select your site/cabin, press "Add to Cart", and then repeat the process.

How can I enter my Good Sam, Senior, and/or Military discount?

These discounts are offered on a park by park basis. In some cases you can search a park’s promo codes, located under the available sites, and find a code to enter during check out. In other cases, you may need to reach out to the park directly to see if these discounts can be applied.

Reservations and Booking

How do I cancel or modify a reservation?

Online cancelation is available on a park-by-park basis and is determined by the park itself. If your reservation is eligible for online cancelation, you can follow the following steps:

  1. Open your reservation within Campspot.
  2. If the reservation can be canceled online, you will see an option to "Cancel Online".
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions to confirm your cancelation. Please note that all park cancelation policies will apply.

If online cancelation is not available, contact the property you booked with directly to cancel or modify an existing reservation. The phone number can be conveniently found on the campground’s page within Campspot or from the link found in your confirmation email (the one with "Reservation Confirmation" in the subject line).

How do I find check in/out times?

Check in and out times are listed on the campground page. If you do not see these times listed, we suggest you reach out to the park directly to confirm their check in/out policy information.

I haven’t received a confirmation email yet, what should I do?

Check your spam folder. Emails from Campspot may be sent to spam by your email provider. If the email isn’t there, you can also reach out to your email provider. Some providers (e.g. comporium.net) have intensive security blockers which require you to request access for Campspot communications.

If you think you may have made a mistake in your email address you can contact the park directly to have them verify and update if needed.

I am not able to click the link to verify my email address.

You may need to copy the link from the email and paste it into your browser.

I can't get through to the park on the phone - what should I do?

Sometimes park phone lines may be very busy, or front-desk staff are working with another customer. If that's the case, try calling again later or contacting the park via email or other methods on their Campspot page or website.

If you are still unable to contact the park, feel free to reach out to help@campspot.com. Our support team works Mon - Fri from 8am to 6pm ET (times may vary during holidays) and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is there a way to view past trips?

Yes! Simply log into your personal account and select "Reservations" from the drop down menu to view upcoming and past trips.

What can I do if I wasn’t satisfied with my stay?

We are so sorry to hear that you weren’t satisfied with your stay! If you experienced a stay that did not meet your expectations we encourage you to reach out directly to the park with your concerns.

We also send an email after every stay allowing you to rate and review your experience. Please check your spam folder if you did not receive this email. We value your feedback!

Fees & Payments

How are refunds handled?

When you book with Campspot, payment is made directly to the park. For this reason, refunds and cancelations are handled by the park you booked with. Please contact the property you booked with directly. The phone number can be conveniently found on the campground’s page within Campspot or from the link found in your confirmation email.

What is the cancelation policy?

Cancelation policies vary from park to park. Please contact the property you booked with directly. The phone number can be conveniently found on the campground’s page within Campspot or from the link found in your confirmation email.

What is a lock fee?

After selecting a specific site location, some parks have the option to "Lock your site location" for a fee. Paying this fee ensures that you get the campsite location that you selected from the map. If you do not pay the lock fee, your location may be switched to a comparable site within your selected campground.

Do I have to pay in full?

Yes. When making reservations you must pay in full at the time of booking.

I have Camp/User Credit, how do I use it?

Funds are moved to Camp or User Credit by the system for various reasons and is a holding spot for money until the park redirects it. Depending on a park’s policies it may be used to pay off cancelation fees from the reservation it originated from or saved as a future credit on behalf of a guest.

Camp Credit is specific to the park it was received from to start. It can only be applied directly by the park so you can reach out to them directly with any questions.

Sensible Weather

What is a Weather Guarantee Sensible Weather?

Campspot has partnered with Sensible Weather to offer a unique Weather Guarantee. Sensible’s Weather Guarantee gives campers the option to protect their camping experience from the risk of rain in the forecast. When the daily forecast shows inclement weather, Sensible automatically contacts campers to claim a reimbursement, with no cancellations necessary. Can I add a Sensible Weather Guarantee to my booking after it’s made?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add the guarantee after your initial booking. If you’d like this benefit, be sure to add it during the booking process.

How do I redeem my Sensible Weather Guarantee if it rained during my stay?

When you are eligible for reimbursement from Sensible Weather, you will receive a text message and email to start the reimbursement process using multiple payout options including Paypal and ACH.
