Bar Harbor Campground — Reviews

. Folks were friendly when we arrived. Should be advertised as a wooded camp ground. Only had a hand full of ocean view sites. Our pull through site was facing the woods.

Nice location

The bath house was very clean and from there we had a great view on the ocean. The staff was well prepared for check in. Campside is very quiet and relaxed.

We really liked this campground, it has great woody campsites with good space between neighbors, for a private campground it is very rare!. some campsites have great sea view. The pool area has a wonderful sea view. Plus, we really enjoyed the service shuttle. And the price is not too bad. We really had a great time! Thanks Bar Harbor campground! We'll keep good memories!

Clean, great location, quiet and awesome camp site.

We arrived in a motorhome and stayed in a site with water and electric only. Our campsite was okay and the price was right. The only problem I had was that there is only one communal dump site at this campground. So if you don't have a site with 3 services, you must wait your turn to dump...and there were lineups at the communal dump site every morning. This didn’t affect me as I had a 25-gallon portable tank that I could dump every two days in the afternoon when no one was waiting to dump. This is my only complaint. The main advantage of this campground is its proximity to the Visitor Center, to the town of Bar Harbor itself and the frequent free bus transportation to town and around the island. If you're tent camping, the sites are nicely shaded and private. If you're in a motorhome, try to reserve a site with 3 services, especially if you plan an extended stay. We stayed a total of two weeks and would return... but only with 3 services.

Restroom and Showers were closed for two days. No explanation or refund on stay.

A little overpriced in my opinion. Our fully serviced site was quite sloped. The washroom and laundry were quite a walk away and washing machines were cold water only. It is a beautiful setting but only a handful of sites are oceanview, and that from a distance.

The staff were all great and very helpful. Although we didn’t use it from the campsites there was a free bus that ran on a regular basis into Bar Harbor, Acadia Park and almost everywhere else on the Island. The Wifi was poor and the Ocean view almost non existent other than possibly from the playground. The site we were booked in was quite smalls and somewhat difficult to get in to. We were mainly away from the park most of time so once we got in and settled these issues were not much of an issue. We would definitely stay again, but would opt for a larger site.

This is a large campground with a great mix of wooded and coastal camping areas. There are several convenient shower and bath areas and great walking paths. The coastal shuttle makes a stop at the grounds so easy to get to acadia and bar harbor. Nice campers and nice staff i recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The heated pool, the water view from the pool and playground area, and the proximity to the ice cream place (Udder Heaven) really made it a lot of fun.
