Belle Bluff Island Campground — Reviews

Great spot just 3.5 miles off Interstate 95. Small campground on a river with a marina, electricity and water at campsites and hot showers in the bathhouse in the middle of the campground. We received a nice welcome from a resident of the campground who was able to answer all our question. We were there on a quiet and cold night in mid November (39° F). We had a campfire and went to sleep in our tent warm. It was a pretty area. I wish we could have had more time to walk around. I would definitely come back again if we needed to stop in eastern Georgia.

Dated, but peaceful.

Very much enjoyed our stay here. The two hosts were very helpful with any questions we had regarding directions, fishing tips, etc. , and everyone was friendly. As other reviewers have mentioned, the facilities are quite basic, however they are clean and well maintained, and hot showers. I only held back from five stars because the campsites are a bit smaller than what we are used to, however, we are used to camping in Georgia and South Carolina where there is far more acreage to establish campgrounds. The fact that Belle Bluff is on White Chimney river and near the ocean and a number of worthwhile places to visit does help offset that, plus we were tent camping and I believe a few of the sites for RV camping were larger.

All was great.

Great little location to relax. We enjoyed the cooler breeze and ate dinner at one of their tables by the river . We stopped for night from FL so just passing through. The restrooms need a little more periodic cleaning.

Very nice quiet campground. Convenient dock for fishing or crabing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sites a little small but was able to work my 42 foot 5th wheel in.

Wow, that place was absolutely incredible! I mean, seriously, it was like stepping into a whole new world. But, um, I must admit, there were quite a few mosquitoes and bugs buzzing around. Like, they were really determined to be a part of the experience, you know? But hey, don't let that discourage you from going there. The place is still totally worth it!

Beautiful area, super friendly host (Ron). Quiet. No frills but location was great. Fishing off their dock was fun. Local restaurant/bar called Blackbeard’s was incredible for seafood.

Cute spot.. Quiet.. Nice view of Marsh. A bit rustic on facilities but nice managers.

Hook ups were very weird / old. There was no office or store. and we were attacked by bugs big time…

What a beautiful spot. We were just passing through and late to arrive but a friendly guest guided us to our site. Very small little island but so pretty. And quiet! The sites down at the north end are amazing spots. We saw tons of cool birds and a family of flying squirrels at night.

First, the place is beautiful, and I would love to come back if opportunity makes it possible. I have a 35' 5th wheel and my only concern was it was a bit snug in site 8. I did see a class-a that seemed to fit in a different spot. Again, very beautiful, and if you're not coming in with a huge rig, you will have a great visit.

Peaceful place but sewer lines at the site was not covered and the smell was really upsetting

Nice hidden gem. Go before it gets busy cause sites are tight but with great view. Newer showers and owner working on place, super nice guy, ask him about property history.
