Buck Hill Campground — Reviews

Super clean. Lots of great amenities. Camp host, Holly, was extremely kind and helped our kids be able to fish. We had a super weekend. The cabin was also very comfy with good mattresses on the beds.

It’s a very friendly community! We were next to the river and there is a good hiking trail with a view that makes the journey worthwhile. WiFi was spotty so you just have to use your data. If you need anything the only way to get it is to call the owners. It’s our second “ RV” trip. So all I have to judge it to is the first where we met the owners and they made sure we were settled in and didn’t need anything. I really enjoyed the river side camp and that made it worth it.

Campground very nice. Pros: site 00 was right on the river and under shade tree. Quiet and clean. Cons: large limb fell on my entry door and wife damaging both. Also river access traffic from entire campground through site.

Buck Hill was clean and the owners were very nice. We loved the showers.

We had a great time at this campground and I would come back. It very clean and well maintained with easy access to restrooms, walking trails, and other amenities. My only gripe was with accessibility to the primitive campsite where we stayed. If you stay in campsite #2 or #3 you will have to walk about 40 yards to your vehicle to unpack and cut through campsite #1 which is the best spot. #2 and especially #3 are very cramped and give you no privacy. The ground where we set up our tent was bumpy so bring a mattress. Other than that, this campground is a winner especially if you have a RV or stay in one of the cabins.

Wonderful. This is the nicest campground we’ve stayed at so far. The owners have really outdone themselves by creating and maintaining a great campground. The pull through sites are plenty wide, level gravel, with extra plantings. Current/modern deco restrooms, arcade, pickle- ball courts, and of course the river. We came for a night when passing through, but look forward to coming back for a longer stay in the future. Don’t let the windy mountain roads discourage you. It is worth the trip.

Campground was beautiful, clean and quiet. The river access was nice to go fishing.
