Camp Sandusky — Reviews

I had tent spot 7. All the tent sites lot very nice and clean. Soft green grassy and shady on level ground. The only problem I had was with the showers. Water pressure was very low but lots of hot water just not very private. The staff are helpful and friendly. I think it’s time to build a new bathhouse and fix the low water pressure. The pancake breakfast deal is worth the money. Delicious pancakes and sausage and a hard-boiled egg plus your choice of a drink for six dollars. You can’t beat that.

Only issues beyond your control. There was a water main break during our stay. We did appreciate your accommodations to our needs. The pull through site was easily accessed, very level and graveled. The dump station was working great and having an air pump and trash bin by the dump station was very nice. Being one of the first stays of the season, we enjoyed the peaceful environment.

All the staff were very pleasant. I am glad, however that it was just a stopover. There is a real issue with bugs, just walking across the grass unleashed a swarm of something resembling mosquitos, they did not bite thankfully but they were all over the inside of my RV in seconds when the door opened even a crack. The sign out front is dusty and dingy and there seems to be a lot of equipment spread out across the site and some looks like it's been there for years all over. I am sure for Cedar Point attendees in the summer this is not an issue but this place looks very tired. I am honest and straightforward and Campspot should know what it is representing. I would not use the facilities, the picnic benches were tired and old. The sewer black line pipe had no connection on mine and I had to prop something on top to keep it attached. I am sure this is fine for perhaps the captive audience folks visiting Cedar Point and Sandusky but for experienced and full time RV'rs I could not recommend for a longer term stay. I gave it 3 stars because the staff that works there seems to care, the owner should invest in sprucing this place up. I hope the owner reads this and walks his campsite from a guest perspective.

Great place to stop for the night while traveling. Friendly staff. Will stop here again in our travels.

Our specific campsite was overrun with bees. Had to stay inside the whole time. Got stung trying to cook outside.

Staff are very nice and they have breakfast every morning witch was good but they need to spray for bug o my goodness there were so many bugs you could hardly sit outside and I have a bug machine 😀 and they need more stuff in there camp store there was nothing in there and fix the second pool it was green and heat the pool water just a little because of the trees it was very cold

We always stay there when going to cedar point, and the race track at Norwalk. Great place, friendly staff, and good pancakes!

Very well kept sites. The grounds are obviously taken care of and everyone we met was polite and welcoming. Kid friendly and plants to do on site. Easy access on and off the highway by only a few hundred yards. I would stay here again anytime.

We arrived during a down pour on our CanAm and the manager helped us out by getting us a cabin instead of uspopping up our little motorcycle camper in the rain. We were extremely grateful! We will definitely camp at this campground again!

Great place to camp. Perfect if you are looking to be closer to Cedar Point to go for a few days. Everything was nice and easy and the camp ground was very friendly to all types of guests. We would definitely camp here again.

Cabin was clean and comfortable. The Staff was great! The pools needed some attention.

The park was great! Mosquitos were under control, comp breakfast was nice, just not enough for the group of people we reserved for. The bathroom showers were not very private and not very well kept. Floors were very slippery even in water shoes. Not enough shelving for shampoos and soaps. Not enough areas to hang cloths. And half the showers did not work. Only enough for 3 people to shower at a time and due to the water pressure, took forever to wash shampoo out. Other than the showers, great experience!

the campgrounds may be somewhat rustic, but the playground is actually very engaging for kids. Our girls spent hours on it even if it was hand-crafted. The campground has plenty of mature canopy offering robust shade - often missing from modern campgrounds. Staff also come around frequently to remove garbage from your site.

Nice little campground easy access.

I requested additional day to stay and even though they were fully booked they bent over backwards to accommodate me. Supper, supper customer service. Reasonable price.

We had a great time! Looking forward to planning another visit ☺️
