Great place to stay... Definitely a must

This is a great campground, we’ve been going there for years, and look forward to many more years.

Check-in staff was friendly and helpful. The river was wonderful to go down in a tube. Loved hearing it at night.

This rating is based on the beautiful surroundings and campground amenities. This was a family-owned campground for something like 40 years, but was recently bought out by a Boston corporation, Modern American Campgrounds. We never camped there before, so I can’t speak to how the ownership change has impacted the park. We met several campers who have been camping there for over 30 years and they expressed concern over the change. Only time will tell, but the campground itself is lovely. We stayed there in Oct 2024 and the fall foliage was gorgeous. Our site was nestled among the trees with a table, fire pit and E/W hookups. There is a dump station on-site. There are clean bathrooms & showers and a nice laundry room. There are a variety of campsites - many are among the trees, others are along the river bank, and more surround a large open grassy area where there is a playground for the kiddos and a safe, circular drive where they can ride bikes. This area is perfect for families with little children. The riverside sites are great for tent camping, but there are also several that will accommodate RVs. There is a large off-leash dog park near the entrance and pet waste station near the large grassy field. This is a very natural, peaceful campground which was beautiful in the fall and I imagine is equally nice in the spring & summer. The office staff could really use some training and they need to get out of the office into the park so they know what they are talking about. We were given a map directing us to our site, but the woman was clueless about RV camping and sent us to our site in the opposite direction (power post on wrong side) so we hade to drive out of the park, disconnect our tow car and try again. We discussed this with the maintenance guy and he said he would let the staff know. When we were leaving I stopped to explain to the desk girl why they need to send RVs in the right direction. She was indifferent and said she doesn’t know because she’s never been inside the campground because she “doesn’t have time”. OK then… perhaps this is where the change of ownership comes in. No pride in the campgrounds by office staff. Still, this is a gorgeous campground along the Battenkill River and families have been going there for 3 generations.

Loved the location and grounds-wooded and many private site options. Beautiful area with lots of scenic spots and cute towns. Employees were pleasant, bathrooms clean! WIFI wasn’t great but we didn’t really need it.

This is one of the nicest spots we have RV’d. Lovely wooded campsite near the lovely Battenkill. Clean restrooms with showers. Nice play area. Very friendly staff. We intend to camp here again.
