Crawford Notch Campground — Reviews

We ended up leaving early. It is a lot more rustic than the site lets on. I am used to both car camping and back packing and had I been properly made aware of the lack of facilities, I would have prepared for a more backpacking experience. The chemical toilettes are porta potties and there is only one dish washing station. This would have been fine if we had packed for backpacking, but since we packed for car camping, it was not going to be a fun experience at all.

They gave our site away to someone else, after I called informing them of our late arrival. (Sorry an ER visit made us late) I checking in online and was told to look for the black box that will have our key and campground map. When we arrived, our check in material was NOT there. Beyond frustrating when all we wanted to do was settle in and enjoy the Holiday. Had to spend double the money to find a last minute pet friendly accommodations.

Our stay was great! Quiet and peaceful.

My boyfriend and I stayed for the weekend and we loved it. Our site was right on the river and had such a beautiful view. It was a perfect stay, we were able to shower because of the hot water at bathroom. The shower/bathroom was very clean as well. I highly recommend this campground

We stayed in a cabin that was very clean and equipped with a space heater. The main bathhouse was impeccably clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The entire campground was very well maintained. We can’t wait to go back again!

We booked a one room cabin, the cabin was exactly as described and was far away from the other cabins. We really enjoyed how large the campground was and how close it was to hiking spots! There is no service at the campground but there is a few miles up the road.

Quiet, wooded and easy check in

Sites were spacious and wooded. Check in was easy and campground is secure. Great location!

We had a great time. Clean facility. Close to hiking and conveniently located. Staff was very nice. Most people were considerate during late evening and noise.

Bathrooms were so-so and they charge you for everything- plus the base rate.

The cabin was nice, I liked how easy it was to get around from sites to the bathhouse. Could hear traffic all the time which was a bummer although they close the gates to traffic in/out camp at a certain time which is nice. Showers were good and hot, and I wish they cleaned the bathroom twice a day and refilled soap. Enjoyed the fire rings and how the sites set offered privacy.

Some nice spots along Saco River However 75% of the tent sites are not so good Mosquito and spider infested Overgrown with no sunlight Dogs barking Kids whining at neighbor sites The main bathroom is good I stayed in cabin first night I would recommend the cabin over tent site if you can Prices at General Store exorbitant $5. For a small bag of ice 🧊 $10. For a tiny wood bundle $2. For a box of matches Yaya's Deli is a good option about 10 miles away If you cannot get tent site on river don't risk it

Booked a last minute trip to be near Mt. Washington and the presidentials...SO happy to have found Crawford Notch Campground!!! The one room cabin was perfect for our family of 4, restroom/shower facilities were immaculate during our entire 5 day stay! Staff was helpful and knowledgeable with our questions, and our boys loved being able to walk from our cabin to the Saco River swimming hole at the campground, we ended up buying a few tubes to enjoy. The campground is quiet, other families were friendly and we WILL be back soon! Great place A+++

We got the best tent site. It was our first camping picnic ever. We really enjoyed it.
