We had a great time at Custer’s Last Chance. Dan and Megan are friendly and welcoming. The campground is central for exploring Custer State Park, Rushmore, Crazy Horse and everything else you want to do. We were there for the 4th of July and they hosted a lovely barbecue and had a candy canon for the kids. We had the best seats to be had for the fireworks right from the campground . Highly recommend!

Nice campsite! Friendly owner, but was not really full hookups as listed. They hadn’t turned water on at the sites when we arrived & were doing other plumbing work. But accommodated us with hose to fill our tank. Water turned on the night before we left, which made dump easier. WIFI wasn’t functional even at 2nd spot next to the office. They are doing lots of work to improve their park. Be aware, it is right next to busy road.

We stayed in April 2026, too early in this frozen area for the water to be turned on at the sites, very close to Custer, SD Great location, wonderfully attentive campground owner

Very small campground off the main road. No bathrooms or laundry facilities. Lots of poop from animals and water wasn’t available. Office was closed but manager was available by phone and helpful.

Camp Owner was lovely and gave suggestions on dining and sightseeing that were just what we were looking for! There was wildlife in the park too!

The staff was awesome. They helped me get my tent back up after a monsoon went through Custer. They also run a clean campground.
