Grey Sandy Campground — Reviews

We chose this place because there was laundry. It turned out that laundry was closed at 5, so we had to drive 25 minutes to a laundromat. Also the water faucet was poorly mended with tape and broke when we tried to connect our hose.

The site was level and the host was friendly. The power and water worked fine. But- there is no cell ( as we were warned) and the WiFi was weak and dropped very often. Also - the “premium pergola “ was far back from our site and unmowed so it was not convenient to use. The campground is not especially attractive.

The hosts were really nice and the location suited us well, however the sites were very tight and the layout was weird. Our site (and others) had the utilities situated so that two campers would have to share their "front door" space. Great if you are camping with friends, not so much if you are with total strangers.

The camp host was very friendly and helpful. We had to repair something on our RV slide out and he lent us a ladder which was a huge help.

Hosts were great. Quite after dark.

No privacy, online looked like it was on the water, key for bathroom, but was not given one.

The site was not level. It took us a long time to get our RV level. Ithetwise the campground was fine.

I should have known better when there was no photo of the tent sites. Turned out to be a gravel parking lot wint no trees, the single bathroom was 200 yards from the site. There was one fire ring for four sites and so many rocks that I slept in my car rather than damage the floor of my tent. At least it was quiet after dark. Perhaps okay for primitive RVs,, but selling this parking spot should be avoided by people with only tents.

Staff was phenomenal. Very approachable and accommodating for requests made. Site was nice and quiet with very friendly hosts.

Very nice facilities, communication could be improved, newer owners I believe.

Quiet and good WiFi otherwise this is not a place I would not give any repeat business. Sites are not near level, I had no picnic table at my site, the campground is overall poorly maintained, and had to pay $5 to dump my tanks at Black Sandy State Park. To do laundry, you must pay in advance at the office and they will turn the machines on for you if you can get on their laundry schedule. The two machines are the slowest I have ever used. The campground is for sale and it seems that the owners are doing as little as possible in the meantime.

Nice option for a place to stay down by the lake, beautiful camp store. Could use some trees for privacy. Nice fire pit picnic table. Overall, very quiet. I don’t understand having to pay for a shower when you’ve already paid for a campsite, but honestly didn’t investigate or ask. Not overly aesthetically pleasing, but again we were happy to get a spot for the Fourth of July.

No shower access that we were aware of. Site wasn't at all level and was situated so that if someone had come in the next spot, our doors would have been facing, so lack of privacy.
