Grumpy Bear RV Park and Campground — Reviews

The campground was clean and maintained, however the bath house was not. There were moldy shower curtains, dirty toilets, and was in need of a good deep cleaning and some paint. We did enjoy the location, the view, and the native american show on Saturday night.

Nice place, sites are way too small, felt almost claustrophobic. Loved the river. Bath house laundry was immaculate.

Beautiful spot, even with the spots not along the river. Loved hearing the water at night. Bathrooms were super clean and maintained. This was an excellent, small, and quiet campground for RV camping.

everything was spectacular,very clean the bathrooms were very well maintained, the staff was very friendly, and the river was lovely.

Absolutely the best campground and location. The sites maybe tight but what do you expect if you want to stay on the river line

The location is very well maintained and the owners are incredible. We even extended are stay because we enjoyed it so much. A few of the campers around us have been there before and they keep coming back as well. Every site had a great view of the water and a fire ring. It’s extremely charming! We can’t wait to go back! 20/10 the place is prefect! *we also have a 9 year old and a 2 year old and both kids enjoyed the campground!

I cannot say enough good things about Grumpy Bear. The cabins are absolutely adorable and extremely comfortable. The location of this park is perfect, 5 minute drive to downtown and right across the street of Darnell Farms (highly recommend going here). The shower house is so nice and clean. The owners were great and super friendly. Our whole stay here was spectacular, will definitely be back again !

The service was awesome. The bathrooms are unbelievable clean roomy and very up to date. The view from my front windows was amazing. The only thing missing is a place to walk dogs.

Great little campground. Full hook up and nice clean laundry and bathrooms.

Sites along the river are very close together . There was a drop off and cinder blocks at the end of my parking space which could be hazardous for falls. A beautiful river and good service from staff , I would recommend the Grumpy Bear to others

We have spent three days at Grumpy Bear Campground and we will definitely return. To start our stay I had messed up our reservation and we got here a day early. Jerry, the owner could not have been nicer. He was able to accommodate the extra day with no problem. We got site #3 right on the river. It is amazing! Very level and the whole campground is gravel, so no mud! I can see some peoples point about the sites being close together but they have done a good job of spacing out the current residents and because we have a camper van we are able to use our parking space next to us for our dogs playpen and it makes a nice buffer between us and the neighbor. We have a picnic table over looking the river and a very cool rock firepit. Some sites even have swings over looking the river. I love sitting outside and watching the river and I love being able to hear it through the windows at night. We decided to take a scenic train ride but we didn't want to move our camper van and leave it in the parking lot of the train station. Jerry volunteered to take us to town in the morning and he came right away to pick us up after our excursion. He didn't charge us for this service but we obviously gave him some cash for the convenience. I can't say enough about the bathrooms here. They are on an upper level so be prepared for that. There's a ramp if needed. Each room has a full shower, sink and toilet. They are new and clean, handicap accessible and private. We did some laundry while we were here also. The machines are not coin operated. There is a box for the money to be deposited on the honor system. $3.00 per load which was reasonable for the very nice, very large washers and dryers they have here. In short, I would definitely recommend them!

This is a beautiful place. Me and my wife had a beautiful vacation and it's surrounded with a beautiful view. We will 100% be back and i highly recommend this camping experience.

The hostess was great and acceptable to all questions. The site was perfect, right next to the river. No noice at night an absolute plus. And the restroom/shower/laundry were very clear. I will be back! Everyone, please support campground because they were devastated by the hurricane and need your support.

although we arrived late in the day, the river lulled us to sleep! incredibly clean bathrooms, free, laundry, facilities, it was a great experience overall.

We loved everything, from check in being super easy, help getting into our site, the beautiful river, to the Indian Dance show on Saturday night! We got the chance to see the very last show of the season!
