Historical site worth a visit. Campsite not so much Water not potable. Washroom not serviced for all 3 days Spotty wifi.

I'm sure this is a lovely spot most of the time, but our experience was not so much. We were traveling from Alberta to Vancouver and had prebooked spot 5 about a week prior to our trip. We arrived (after alot of delays resulting in 12 hours of travel time) at 10 pm BC time, to find that 1) there was an "electronic music festival" (aka a Rave) taking place on the grounds and 2 ) there was someone else in the spot I had booked and electronically checked into. The organizer of the event that we spoke to (as there was no one available from the ranch at that time) confirmed that the occupant in our spot was booked in for the entire weekend event. I'm not sure if Hat Creek forgot to block off the weekend on campspot and that is why we were able to overlap the bookings, but it was an unfortunately restless night for the adults in our party as we had no where else to go. We got up in the morning and left... with that sort of system glitch, we won't be back. I would caution anyone considering booking to actually call hat creek and book through them directly before spending the $60 on potentially no sleep Side note : true kudos to the organizers of the music event, it's not our style but it looked and sounded successful, and you did choose the perfect secluded location (I only wish we hadn't overlapped )

Lovely quiet spot - we felt like we were on the set of Yellowstone ! Reception office shut when we arrived so sadly didn’t meet any staff. Only stayed one night in the end.

This was a lovely unusual location due to the historic buildings on site. However, they hadn't told us there was an indigenous music festival being held on the site, so we were subjected to loud music from our arrival at 4pm until midnight. The festival also meant they weren't able to feed us in the on site restaurant, which was disappointing. Wifi was so non-existent that we couldn't even access our roaming data.

It wasn’t quite as advertised. It was extremely remote and exposed, the wind was swirling so made for a restless night. The “licensed” restaurant was closing early and didn’t have any alcohol. The staff were lovely. The attractions were not exactly enough to make it somewhere to highly recommend.

Historic Hat Creek Ranch was an interesting stop but confusing . Is it a tourist destination or RV spot?. Nil privacy for RVs and as the water and electricity is shared with your neighbour the RVs needed to be uncomfortably close. Coupled with the visitors trying to see the horses in amongst the RVs was a strange experience. No wifi coverage and poor reception . Lovely staff.

Stayed in the covered wagon, was a great fun experience, my 2.5yr old loved it. Great ranch with much to see and take in

Lovely place and nice flat pitch. Quirky place that is well maintained and in a really interesting part of Canada. Only slight downside was arriving 5 minutes after closing and no one around...so we had to do a bit of guessing on pitch, but found our name stuck to one of the tables. Quiet, and peaceful stay for a night

We did tent on truck, the entire site is so clean and kids friendly. The staff were helpful and polite. We enjoyed delicious ice cream from the restaurant on site. Will definitely visit this place again

We stayed in one of the miner shacks, We brought our typical camping gear such as Propane Stove, Air Mattress etc.. Our experience Was absolutely fantastic and worth it for the price! The shacks are completely empty we brought some battery operated lights to make the place a little bit more homey! The Shack was a lot more spacious than I was anticipating, and was Bug free! I would love to stress that as I was worried! But we saw no bugs, and no spiders, inside of our Shack! (Aside from the occasional moth) There is a shared washroom for campers/public which was kept clean for the most part other than little bugs but that’s expected! The restaurant was affordable and yummy, the staff was wonderful and welcoming! The landscape was beautiful and we have no complaints to the property! Though it does really hot in the shacks so manage that how you will! Will definitely be back here and have already told friends and family about how wonderful our experience was!

Quiet clean park!

Staff were very knowledgeable, and amazing self guided tour. Only sad thing was no wagon ride for the lil guy as he really wanted to go on it. The gold mining made up for it though. We all really enjoyed ourselves.
