Indian Flat RV Park — Reviews

Check in was friendly and informative. The tent site I reserved was just big enough for my car OR my tent. The fire ring was a foot away from the picnic table. The picnic table for the next site was touching mine. All too cramped. Two of those sites would make a decent sized tent camp site.

Indian Flat RV park is clean and efficiently run. The staff is helpful and friendly. RVers enjoy access privileges to the next-door Hotel's pool and private beach on the Merced river - very nice. The wifi service, fee based, works well. The bathrooms and showers are rough but clean and functional. The spaces are nearly as small and tightly packed as they can possibly be. The area is dry and dusty in the summer. To earn a 5 star, the bathrooms and showers could be improved and the landscaping upgraded. Larger spaces would be nice, but this RV park is not meant to be a hang-out, but rather a staging area for visiting Yosemite Valley. It accomplishes that task well.

Value for money. Tent site is dusty with gravel, but it wasn't a surprise. Amenities are quite fine and clean. No mobile reception in the area, wifi usage costs 10 bucks a day. Front office staff is friendly & welcoming :)

The location of the camp is great, right next to a beautiful river with many spots to enjoy. Unfortunately the camp site was very small. I reserve two tent spots for 7 people and two cars, we barely fit. We had to get very creative in the position of the tents and cars. The only reason they are getting a 3 star review is because their restroom and showers were nice and clean. Would not go back with family but defenetly good for one person camping.

Staff very helpful when we checked in, despite being busy. Great location in proximity to Yosemite.

The air quality from the Washburn fire was awful. There was trash all over our site. The water connection leaked. Staff was responsive and friendly. They even refunded our early departure due to smoke. Old place but on a hood spot.

Big RVs alongside small camper vans and tents. No enforcement of quiet time for RVs with running generators. Charges 10 dollars for wifi. Practical location for early start to the El Portal park entrance for those w no camping reservation inside park.

Close proximity to YOSEMITE NP. Very nice staff. Clean. Spots are small and very tight.

Great location for using YARTS bus. River opposite is lovely for swimming. But ground is VERY hard and lights are quite bright at night.

On arrival, there was a friendly, helpful staff member who did their best to give us a site that was more shaded. However, the next morning when I went to buy a bag of ice, I was greeted by another staff member who was relatively unfriendly. Tap water at the campsite had a funny smell. So if you have a sensitive stomach like me and don't want to risk it, I would make sure to have plenty of spare drinking water (or boil before drinking). Free showers for campers was a bonus, but the shower stalls need an update. Campsites are very close together (your tent could be separated from your neighbours' tents by a log on the ground). And despite the onsite staff member asking some campers to turn off their loud music at 10pm, some less considerate groups were still talking pretty loudly till late; and then another group were up and talking loudly just after 6am. So earplugs would come in handy.

Noise from people leaving as early at 6:00am. No water for one evening. Exhausts smell from my neighbor in my travel trailer.

The site is very convenient to visit Yosemite. However, the spots are tight and for some reason there wasn’t any water in the showers or available through our hook ups on the last of our three days. Worth it due to location nonetheless.

Nice place, but definitely spaced for smaller rigs. The location for park access is great. Also, since it is on the river, you can do a little fishing in between bikes!

I would give a 3/5 based on the conditions of the showers and bathrooms, but given the price, location, great WiFi, and the fact that they let me stay an extra day when needed for car repair despite not having a spot, I have to give a 4. Yet I can't give a 5 based on the reasons I stated above.
