Jekyll Island was fantastic. Campground was not. Site was extremely small. We could not open awning and slide due to trees, elected to partially open awning. Had to angle truck to keep off roadway. Bathhouses were hit or miss. One closest to us had only 1 toilet out of 6 working in men’s, women’s not much better. If you stay here, try to obtain larger site and only use new bathhouse. Since we spent most of the time exploring the island, enjoyed visiting

The twisted, gnarly live oak trees covered in Spanish moss create a magical atmosphere and generous shading. The campground is large enough for a casual stroll for some light, daily exercise with the puppy without having to do endless loops. Birds and squirrels are everywhere, and raccoons are on the prowl at night so make sure the food is put away securely and the trash taken out. Though the campsites are relatively close together, they are spacious enough that you don’t feel crowded by neighboring sites, and they appear to be mostly level. Our site was a back-in site and was easy to get into with our 21 foot trailer… so easy in fact that I hoped everyone was watching me. (Iyk,yk.) We didn’t use the bathhouse or laundry so I can’t comment on them. All in all, I hope we can get back there for a longer stay in the future.

Beautiful place, but weather was really bad, so not able to really enjoy it.

We loved it there. The beaches, the island, the trails, all the history, the beautiful trees with the hanging moss and everything that the island has to offer is so worth your stay there. Wifi was not working for us but we got cable and we just used our data on our phones.

Great campground!! It is is a great location to start biking around the island, or head to Boneyard Beach. Can’t wait for my next trip.

The site map does not match how the site is laid out. We basically shared a drive way with the site next to us. The roads are very tight and not big rig friendly. There is one way in and the same way out. If there is another vehicle on the road it can be a problem. Jekyll Island is great, the bike and hiking paths are wonderful and Driftwood beach is not to be missed. The no see ems were horrible the last night there.

We had a great time on the island. However we chose to leave early because the bugs were overwhelming and everyone was covered in bug bites. We brought bug sprays and an electronic thermal cell bug repellent which barely helped.

The campground can use some fixing up. They’ve already remodeled one bathhouse. It was beautiful and very nice. Couple of the other ones were very old and outdated. My only complaint about the entire campgrounds. It’s very damp and lots and lots and lots of leaves.

Campground was fantastic. Very nice people. Clean and level sites. We were on C Loop near the road and the bikepath with sweeping views of the marshland. They rent bicycles which is a great way to see the island. Firewood for purchase. Huge laundry. Very quiet in the evening. The island is such an incredible place. From the campground you can easily walk to Driftwood Beech, the fishing pier, and a loop on the bike path all within 20 minutes. We caught sunrise, sunset, and moopnrise from diftwood beach. If you have a bike you can loop the whole island. The historic district is such an amazing place. The clubhouse tour, and the chapel tour were fantastic. Find Alligators at Horton Pond. Incrdible bird watching at the amphiteater. Food was fantastic at the Bistro. Oh and one of the neatest things we saw was two armadillos running through the woods near the campground. We will be back someday.

My husband go to Jekyll camping every February. We love all the island has to offer. The “Winter” campers are a very fun loving eclectic group. It seems we make new friends each year. Kim and Michelle are an amazing asset to the management of the facility and this year we met Steve. He was a very positive, professional and helpful person anytime we needed him.
