Joshua Tree RV Campground — Reviews

Brian greeted us and was very helpful, brought us our package and directed us to some of the activities in the town over the weekend. We will definitely come here again, clean and well maintained!

Nice place to stay! We had a partial hookup, 30amp and water but no sewer. Sandy area but that actually works well during rainy days, with no mud. Good option if you don’t want to disperse camp and we felt safe leaving our trailer there while we explored the JTNP. Bonus: County dog park right next door, all sand but not too shabby! My 40+ pound GSD pup had a great time there. You can make online reservations but can’t guarantee your spot unless you pay an extra $20 (lame!) and we didn’t get our online choice (got assigned 65 instead of 63 like we requested). However, the online system appears to have done a good job spacing out the rigs as everyone there pretty much had a vacant space between them. Fire pits are available for free to bring to your site and cornhole, horseshoes, and huge Jenga also onsite. We stayed in mid March during a crazy wind storm, rained a lot, and was very cold in general. We felt safe there and the west entrance and Visitor Center for JTNP is a five minute drive away. Minus a star because of the online $20 site guarantee (I understand it, but it’s still lame) and the sand, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Its just a big sandy parking lot. But.... It has great ameneties. Full hook ups, fire pits, laundry and shower facilities. The spaces are plenty big. It is right next to a park (seems like it is part of the campground) with a dog park. Nice covered patio with camping games and a bbq for socializing. The owner is very personable and helpful.

Great stay Brye was a perfect host. Slope of the sites and distance to sewer was a hassle. On a down hill site having to repeatedly lift two lengths of hose to drain was a chore. Sites should be delineated. A puzzle of where to park rigs. Stake them. Something. Laundry - please tell people that it is not OK to wash their pet's bedding and blankets in machines where human clothes are also washed. That said, a great location for seeing the national park and an easy trip back down to the valley for all things Palm Springs. Would happily stay again.

Overall, it’s a nice place to stay where is pretty close to the Joshua tree park and info center, it’s easy to do back up to park the trailer, connected to fresh water and sewer, we arrived about 8pm, it’s easy to follow the instruction to get info envelop that include what we need like WiFi Pwd , bathroom door code. Something we think they can do better is to install trash bags for dogs, and add an extra shower room (there is only one, need to wait if someone already used).

The site did not have a table or fire pit. The camp host, Jim, was very friendly and pulled a half table over and we took a fire pit from another site. It was very loud. The toilets were at least clean

Very nice owner. The property is a lot smaller than what it looks like on the website. I highly recommend paying extra for the inside area. There is more space between trailers/RV's. The outside ones are right next to each other.

Great spot, not much to do in the surrounding town once you visited Joshua Tree. The drive to L.A from this location is about 2.5 hours so it would be a fun day trip if you are looking for other things to do. You can also drive to Palm Springs which is about 40 minutes out and they have some really good food. Overall though great campsite, wasn't too busy and the owners were very friendly, helpful and welcoming!
