Kentucky River Campground — Reviews

My Hubby and I came to Kentucky to do the Bourbon Trail for his Birthday! The campground was a great spot to stay! Staff was very friendly and helpful! And the park was quiet since we stayed in March! Campsites were a little tight, but not bad! We would stay there again!

We had an overnight stay, campground was clean and maintained. Campsites are close together. We pulled in on a Sunday afternoon and the office was closed so no contact just an envelope by the office that gratefully one of the campers pointed out, with our site location on it. It is a long twisted narrow road to get from the highway to the campground.

A perfect place for quick getaway. Everyone was extremely friendly.

Spaces are a little tight. But a nice quiet place off the beaten path.

Bathroom showers were in the state of repair

We loved this quaint campground. Chuck was super helpful getting our big rig into the space. The site had a beautiful wood deck overlooking the Kentucky river. Getting out was easy with the help of the other campers, who were so nice and super helpful. We will go back!!!!

The campsite was beautiful and the staff had much hospitality!

It’s a very nice campground and kept clean. It’s definitely for older people who just want to go and relax at their campsite. There was a few downsides, one you can not fish on the dock and the water was so low that you can’t really fish from the super muddy shoreline , since there was flooding this year they didn’t have any restrooms or showers available to those who don’t have a camper and was not notified of things still getting fixed when booking. They do have WiFi which is a great thing since you get no cell service. If you have little ones they do have a playground which and is in great shape but if you plane on going swimming I would think twice, there was so many water snake near shore and going in under the dock. Our overall stay was very pleasant and campground attendants are super friendly.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a challenge with arriving very late. They were awesome at communicating with me for the arrival, had a maintenance person escort me to my spot at 10pm. Very friendly campers there. Only thing was there was no bathrooms nor showers I was counting on. There was a devastating flood in April and they were still recovering from that event. The spot was great. Quick to hiking trails and to down town if you like. I’ll be back when the showers are operational. I have a pop up that has a shower, but not so great. That’s on me. I’ll be back.
