Because it was quite. I was right by a play ground, which was very loud at times, but once I fell asleep I didn't hear the noise. I like the area so much I'm staying there Oct 1st till Nov 1st.

Design and build a cardboard boat to race at Lakeside Resort Campground. 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Race. Build your cardboard boat Friday & Saturday. Saturday August 8th 2026. Race Starts @ 3pm in the Lake. Tacoyote Food Truck @ 2pm-6pm near the pavilion. Boat Building Rules. 1. Life jackets must be worn during the race. 2. All boats must be made of “corrugated cardboard” No Motors. 3. You may use- Water based glue or wood glue, duct tape, masking tape, scotch tape, spray paint, rope or string. No caulk or silicone. 4. The boat must be a displacement type vessel. No surfboards or paddle boards. 5. Boat may be as thick as you would like. 6. One paddle per person. 7. No two- part epoxy. 8. No oil-based paint. 9. No plastics. 10. Tape cannot cover the whole boat. Only the seems.
