This is a very nice, well kept campground. The restrooms are mostly portables but they're the best-kept portables I've ever seen. They have some free amenities like a playground and bounce pad for the kids, but at least when we were there, the bounce pad was only inflated on the weekend. It was pretty quiet and empty when we were there so maybe that's why the bar/restaurant that was supposed to serve Thu. - Sat. was closed on Thu. That may also be why the office was never open except for like half the day on Thu., when we arrived on Wed. we checked ourselves in and when we left the following Wed. we checked ourselves out. It was kind of too bad, we'd have liked to play the mini golf but that wasn't an option. Besides being very mineral-y the water had a kind of funky swamp water smell and taste at first, but at the end of our week stay that seemed better so maybe it was just that it was sitting in the lines, as hardly anyone was there. The wooded sites are pretty tight and challenging for even our little 16 footer, I wondered how some of those people got their big rigs in but they were mostly seasonal and looked like they'd been there for 10 years so maybe the trees were smaller then. We did order and pick up the Friday fish fry to go, and it was pretty disappointing, frozen chopped fish wedges like you get at WalMart, soggy fries, and while the choices were coleslaw or cottage cheese, they said there was no coleslaw. That was fine for me but my wife doesn't eat cottage cheese. Wouldn't do it again. I was definitely NOT impressed with the dump station, there are no connections to connect your supply hose for flushing, you have to hold the water supply in the end of the hose and let it drip all over your feet, and there's no way it could be a one person job as one has to hold it while the other goes in and flushes. Never seen anything like it. The owner seemed friendly when we did talk to her, so that was a plus, and the woods was full of Trillium and Wild Geranium so it was very pretty. The inside bathrooms and showers were clean and comfortable, the pool needed vacuuming, we didn't get to try it as the weather was pretty cool and rainy most of our stay, but there were some kids in it and they seemed happy enough. The disc golf course is free to use, it's pretty basic but better than no disc golf, and they do have rental gear if/when the office is open, which wasn't much while we were there. We were off the property most of the weekend at Road America so maybe it was open then, there were quite a few campers, but after everyone cleared out on Sunday that was it.
