This RV park is run down. The restrooms were dirty and full of bugs and cockroaches. The grass by the camp sites was unkept and looked like it had t been mowed in months. There is no attendant at the gate and directions are very unclear as to what your paying for so I ended up with an annual pass and paid the nightly fee once I was able to figure out the web site. I’ll never be back, so the annual pass is a waste. The place is overpriced and run down. We came to Aransas and paid less and this park is awesome.

The location, facilities and staff were great. We found this at the last minute and immediately fell in love with the pier fishing, beach volleyball and walking trail.

I grew up in Port Lavaca on that beach. It's so sad to see how bad it's become. No upkeep, grass is way out into sand. Trash every step. City website and campspot said splash pad was on but then after some phone calls they said it "might be on" in May. Even if it was on, it's in poor condition. Gate did not work and received no code. Don't walk in grass by sidewalk because it's full of burrs. Been to this beach several times in the last couple years and keeps getting worse. After living in Port Lavaca 37 years and seeing all the playgrounds and peers an amenities be installed, it's very sad to see how the city has let it all go to waist.

Minus: Hook-ups were in a poor location for the southern sites. Continual traffic all night long. Plus: Clean and well maintained. WiFi worked well.

Need someone there full time to monitor campers. Beach is very poor kept with debris from one end to the other. It needs combed regularly and is clearly not. Grass was knee high in areas and grass is taking over sand. The tops of the stone table covers has tar and shingles blown all over the place.
