Lundy Lake Resort — Reviews

Very run down place; no host to greet; felt very unsafe with strange people living next to campground. Decided not to stay but leave to find a safe campground.

Though our site views were magnificent, the grounds and access was only for tenters. Large rocks and steep narrow access lanes to our site left precariously wondering if we would make it to site. Website does not give adequate understanding of what you are reserving and what you will encounter.

This place is so serene and majestic each time we stay it is a refreshing change to our fast pace life in Los Angeles. Beautiful hiking trails, great fishing and the best campfire talks with our friends and family. The owners of the resort are very welcoming and responsive to any needs you may have.

When we arrived it was nothing like expected from the original description. There was no store despite it was written, and the place is run down to a state where it looks more like a refuge not take care off. We couldn’t see showers and no place to find anyone for checkin despite it was only 5pm. We ended up turning around and left again. We drove to Lee Vining Mono Vista which was really good.

We always enjoy coming to Lundy Lake. And we are so happy that there is someone who picked up a responsibility to keep the resort open. We know it’s hard when you’re just starting out, and it’s a huge learning curve. I am sure. But the grandkids and my children and the grandparents all enjoy their stay.

I almost don't want to review and keep this hidden gem to myself but the hard working new owners deserve credit. They were seen working hard all week restoring and making improvements to the resort. We had a fantastic stay. We loved the rustic charm, the beautiful surroundings and the friendly atmosphere. This is a " campground " not glamping and we loved it.

Really great communication. Sites had everything you needed. We only stayed one night but it was perfect! Definitely plan to return for longer!

Lake is beautiful but the camping spots are rough and rocky! Facilities not great!

What a great little campground! The spot and lake were perfect, a charming and rustic camping experience. Quiet at night with plenty of stars and conveniently located close to other lakes and hikes in the area. Can’t wait to come back!

Lundy Lake Resort embodies the true meaning of what the camping experience in the Sierras should be. The scenic beauty of Lundy Canyon is spectacular and the wildlife is amazing. In our time there we viewed deer wandering through our camp, beaver in the ponds and eagles scooping up trout in the lake. We caught rainbows, brown, and brook trout in the few days we were there. For my family the my family the attraction is the rustic and genuine atmosphere. There is nothing fake or put on. To learn about the history of Lundy and know that there was a town site here 150 years ago is intriguing. You can see the old remaining cabins, rock bases of houses, cisterns and even mines. The new owners have done a great job in keeping the tradition of the resort, but making the improvements necessary to the camp. The management was very friendly and efficient. Our vacation was very enjoyable.

We fully enjoyed our time camping at lundy lake resort. It was a great time the lake was wonderful and listening to a waterfall all evening was dreamy. It was nice having amenities such as a shower and bathroom and water which made camping with kids so much nicer than being fully off grid. We are already planning on coming back again!

Staff was very friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout the trip. Campsite was clean and maintained while under improvements.
