Ojibwa Campground — Reviews

This is a great campground—clean, quiet, and well maintained. If you need your RV sewer emptied or your fresh water tank filled, a local service provider will come to your site for a reasonable fee. Just ask the camp host to arrange it.

Well everything was going great until the guy who came in on spot next to me, kids always knocking on my door. I went over there and mentioned it, they told me no they are not. I'm a really friendly person and have no reason to lie, then today I came home from work and they had people literally parked in my camp, then he acted as s if I was the problem, u know we are camping but there is a thing called respect, oh and also when I left to go to the gym the little girl who is just tiny was standing behind my truck. Just very lack of respect! Other than this the campground is nice! Maybe management can speak with them. Again I have no reason to lie.

The campground/marina itself is excellent. Everything is clean and well-maintained A fantastic lakeside location. The sites are nicely leveled, and you really can’t beat having direct access to the water right at your campsite. I stayed at site 20 and was able to launch my kayak directly from my spot, which was a highlight. There are also plenty of options nearby for hiking and beach walking. Communication via email was very easy and responsive, and I had no issues with power during my stay. The dump station at the park entrance is convenient, with fresh and grey water available; it’s included for campers or $10 for non-campers. That said, the main downside is significant road noise coming across the bay from Baraga, especially trucks and engine braking. Wind direction makes a big difference—when it was coming from the north, things were noticeably quieter. However, during calm conditions, the noise was constant enough that I often had to keep windows and doors closed while working, and it even woke me up at night. Mainly sites facing south (sites 20 to aproximately 38). Further to the east it got better. Baraga offers a Gas Station and a well stocked Convenient Store. A Dollar General is in walking distance. Next Walmart is about 35min north. TMOBILE signal strength was exceptional. Overall, it was still a great experience and would easily be 5 stars if not for the noise.

Site was ok, but shower facilities were far from site and not eadily walked. Dhowers were in rough shape besides being isolated. We left a day early and did not even bother canceling reservation for second night. Worst site in our Circle Tour around Superior

The views were stunning, but people had a loose dog running around that came to our site, driving with loud music after dark, and the showers and restroom facilities were so far away, and full of mosquitoes, we slept unwashed for the night.

Nice Lake view. Water and sewage close. Power only lots.

Loved our camping spot and the view of the water. The showers available to use was a nice bonus!

Location

Got an amazing end of season rate for a site right on the water. Shower house is a bit of a distance and a bit neglected at end of season but was warm and served our purpose. Communication/signage could be a little clearer but we are not veteran campers. All-in-all it was definitely worth what we paid at the end of season rate. Would stay again if in the area.

Nice campground was just what we needed.

Beautiful setting on the north east side of the campground. There is no water hook up, no active phone number to contact someone, bathrooms are a porta-potty and showers are a half mile or more away in a different park. If you know this, then set! I will definitely go back but be better prepared.

This is a beautiful campground. You can see Lake Superior from every campsite. I highly recommend.

Nice camp ground. But could use a map near the entrance to show where everything is within the camp ground like the showers and camp site locations. Also showed up to pop cans and a soup can in my fire ring. But other than those minor things, it was a nice campground and I'll be going back.

The fire pit was not located in a easy spot to use as the neighbors had their tent right next to the pit. Staff did not come by or offer to move it. I had to get some help from a friend and move it myself. Happy to have had power, there was some posts that it may or may not available. Grandson was unable to use the wifi at night had to use my own data for him.
