Crooked H Cabin
This is our gem, the property that started Pig Trail Lodging. It is nestled on the south side of the lower end of the Mulberry River just between Hamm Falls (the best surfing rapid on the Mulberry) and Campbell's Cemetery. Enjoy staying right on the Mulberry River at a great location for riding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking and having fun with family and friends! During your stay, enjoy a full kitchen, outdoor grill, washer, dryer, screened in back porch, firepit, lighted pergola for outdoor meals and entertaining, master bedroom with balcony overlooking the river, city water, central heat and air, covered parking, and cell phone service if you have AT&T. Crooked H Cabin has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, plus a full size bed in the upstairs open loft. There are also two bathrooms and a washer and dryer. The best part about Crooked H Cabin is the scenery, seclusion, location on the river and nearby riding trails, but you get the comforts of home. We enjoy floating from Turner Bend to the cabin, which is about an 8 mile float or from the cabin to Mill Creek, which is about a 10 mile float. Since we are on the south side of the river, Turner Bend would not be able to rent their boats to you if you float to the cabin, so you would need to bring your own boats. The cabin is also a great location for ATV riders. When the Mulberry River is below 2 feet, you can easily access several trails by crossing the river over to Shores Lake Road. This is a short, 2 mile, dirt road trip. When the river is above two feet, you would need to trailer to the trails. You can trailer to the Mill Creek Trails, Byrd's Adventure Center trails, trails off of Shores Lake Road, or you could trailer to our property half a mile north of Turner Bend and ride from there! The cabin's driveway is located through National Forest. It's a one-lane, narrow, rocky, bumpy three-tenths of a mile driveway. We recommend trucks, SUV's, and trailers no longer than 16 ft.
