Jim is a really good host, and made us feel very comfortable. We like the no fuss attitude and enjoyed a campfire with music and good company!

It was quiet

Liked the facility and the owner was really helpfull.washrooms and showers were well taken car of and clean. Would stay again if in the area.

When we pulled into our site it seemed okay even though our fire pit was full of beer cans and garbage. The bathrooms were sketchy enough to pass on a shower. Then the owner said there’d be live music and fireworks that night things looked promising. We got to the music and listened to a couple songs before they took a break. When the finally came back we were ready to leave for bed. The hat came around for donations and the owner insulted us because he didn’t think we donated enough even though we’d only hear a couple of songs. We left the music continued until midnight and fireworks went off around that time. Needless to say we were trying to sleep at that time.

Nice little camp just getting started. Owner was friendly and the washroom and showers were clean and well kept.

It is not mentioned anywhere on vampspot that the camp sites are not accessible by car and that we'd be hiking up our own gear. When we arrived the owner told us he "didn't feel like" helping us bring our gear to our spot for one night so we could either do it ourselves or be scratched and bruised sleeping on a gravel RV site instead. When we informed him this detail was missing from the campspot add, he said that it was on his Web site so we should have "done more research". Speaking of his web site, none of the pictures match the site itself. He advertises washrooms and a "general store" which is packed floor to ceiling with trash and random objects like hockey sticks, cardboard boxes, and leaves very little room to walk. The owner himself spends his time with his feet up on an old spool of electrical cord surrounded by car parts on the front lawn. Not at all inviting and the owner is not at all accommodating.

When you first drive up you really don’t get the very best first impression from the out building with broken down chairs etc. We thought we came into someone’s bad front yard….beyond this it is a really beauty of a spot with the river inviting you to explore. Owner definitely without a doubt is so friendly but needs a small maintenance crew during the season. Washrooms are functional but need a good clean to ‘aim be the cleanest’ washrooms as suggested on the website. Saying this we will definitely return.
