Nice quiet campground on the river

Nice area, but not much options for tent sites. We ended up slightly on a slanted hill. Could not drive our car right up to campsite. Being right on the water was nice. Besides the train coming by, very peaceful and quiet. Bath house not the nicest, but do able.

The place is very nice, the view from the cabin is beautiful but unfortunately the cabin was so dirty that we couldn't stay more than one night. There were stains of all kinds on the mattress protector, you couldn't turn on the fan due to the amount of dust that had accumulated on the ceiling and in general it smelled dirty. I personally suffer from allergies and had a terrible night.

Everything was relaxing, clean, and quiet.

Staff was great, view was beautiful. The facilities though...restrooms needs updating and there are many long term residents. If you have a boat and a rig and plan to spend your time on the river, this is the place to be. Not much available for hiking along the river or family activities or activities in general in the area. Williamsburg is about 20 miles south of here.

My boyfriend and myself rented a deluxe cabin and it was absolutely perfect for the two of us with a perfect view of the water, fishing on the dock, a store with snacks and any essentials we might have forgotten, and kinda people everywhere on the campground.

Riverside was a good campground. Right on the river. If you like to boat and camp this is a very good place. Owners and help were great.

This is an awesome campground with extremely friendly staff.

The staff at Riverside Camp were very nice and helpful. The main attraction here is the river. We stayed in a 50A E/W/S site, Site #30, right in the main area of the camp. The site was nice and level, with a little bit of sand, some gravel and some grass with a firepit that included a cooking grate. In front of our site was a big boat trailer parking area. The campground itself is nestled inside a housing development. The campground does offer boat rentals, and we did that for a half day and that was a lot of fun. Many of the sites are seasonals. I think the biggest thing this campground could do to improve would be to add more amenities - even a basic playground and dog park would be a great addition and making the swim area on the beach a little nicer would be good as well.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and maintained. The Wi-Fi signal was strong, the water pressure was strong. The electric and sewer connections were conveniently located. The site was spacious. The bath house was impeccably clean, stocked, and maintained. We were there for four nights. We will definitely be back. A great place to stay. I highly recommend it.
