Cowichan River Campground — Reviews

Rated5.0out of 5Fantastic!
Super clean and peaceful, and the check-in and check-out were really easy. I’d definitely recommend booking with them. You get the woods and grassland on one side and a river on the other making it the perfect little nature spot.

This was such a lovely stay. We booked online last minute and the check in process was so easy and communication emails were super clear. The park is incredibly clean and clearly well maintained. The river was literally right beside the sites and super easy to get to (I recommend water shoes so you don’t slip on the rocks in the river). I will also add, the park is super dog friendly, we had no issue bringing our dog. The owner came by for a quick check to make sure we were all settled and he was such a delight, we can’t wait to come back and meet his wife too. Also clean port-o-potties I’ve ever used! There are bathroom / shower facilities but the ports were closer and so clean we didn’t even go to the main washroom facility. Also very dog friendly which was great for us with a dog :)

Beautiful location on the river, campingspaces are big, but the washingrooms need renovation.

We had a nice, very large site right on the river. Noticeable recent updates to the campground. Close to all amenities but feels like it’s far away from the city.

Campsite itself was well maintained and super quiet which I appreciated! Its not in the nicest area but the campsite itself seemed safe. River was not actually accessible from the site which I assumed and the spots themselves were much smaller than what they appeared in the photos. Was a razerblade and glass left on our site. All in all - pros and cons but we had a nice time!

- barely any privacy - too much of a presence of the park operator who cannot be called friendly - campsite is surrounded by industrial area - light polluted at night - no river access or any trails

The Site is undergoing renovations and new improvements. The site was very clean at the time of occupancy , the facilities were clean and the site was furnished with a fire pit and a picnic bench. It overlooks a river.
