Salmon Run Campground and Vic's Canoes — Reviews

The campsite and amenities were great. Would definitely stay again! The only reason I gave it a 4 star were due to the picnic tables. I rented the BTR group site and most of the tables were rotted and had loose boards, making them a bit of a hazard for kids.

The SR and Vic's staff are amazing and their camp store had a few items we forgot! Making sure we visit at least once a year from now on.

Great camp sites, showers and store. Loved the kayaking too! Friendly staff with well mannered campers also

We were very pleased with every aspect of camping at salmon run campground, the owners are very nice and helpful, this was our first time camping and first time with a new camper,,,, and believe it or not we are both retired,, just decided to mix things up a Bit and go for something we’ve never done ITS FUN

I can't say enough good things about Salmon Run & Vic's Canoes! The owners and all staff are super helpful and kind. The campground is very clean. The pool was our favorite activity outside of the canoe run we did from Henning Park back to camp. We had an amazing site overlooking the Muskegon River and plenty of friendly campers around us. Stargazing and people watching on their watercrafts from our site were two other highlights. We will definitely be back!

Staff is always friendly and interacting with guests. Campground is kept clean, both the grounds and public buildings.

My son had an allergic reaction the first night. Owners were personally checking in on him. Would give 6 stars if possible!

Sites are kinda small and right on top of each other. Plus side. Has a store and restrooms. Pool and showers. Tubing and kayaks rentals on site. Owners meet all expectations. Delivered generous order of firewood. A family campground.

Overall, we really enjoyed our week-long stay at Salmon Run. There’s a good variety of things to do — tubing, fishing, swimming, and more. We also appreciated that golf carts are allowed, which adds convenience and fun to getting around. It’s definitely a solid place to consider for your next camping trip. That said, there are a few areas for improvement: There were no organized kids' activities over the 4th of July holiday, which was a bit disappointing. The dirt road and steep hill leading into the campground are in rough shape — to the point that it could be a dealbreaker for some. For context, my truck has an off-road suspension package and still struggled with the deep ruts and potholes along the quarter-mile stretch. We had a good time overall, but I hope they address the road conditions to make access easier for all campers.

We had the best spot for our RV, right by the river!
