We always have an amazing time at Sandy Pines! Pool, arcade, bath houses and the grounds, are always tip top shape.

We were really looking forward to staying at Sandy Pines because it presents itself as a higher-end, resort-style camping experience, with a lot of emphasis on glamping and beautiful attention to detail. Unfortunately, that same attention to detail does not extend to the traditional campsites. The actual campsites felt much more like a basic unkept campground than a resort style campground. The sites are essentially laid out in large, circular, open areas divided into sites, with one campsite flowing into the next and very little privacy or separation. There was very little attention to landscaping, aesthetics, or creating a thoughtfully designed campsite environment. For the price point, we expected considerably more. The bathrooms were noticeably underkept and didn’t feel consistent with the upscale camping experience they market. The pool was nice and was definitely a highlight of our stay. We were grateful that was the case because this campground has very little to offer otherwise. If you are looking for a traditional tent or RV campsite, I would strongly recommend looking at other options before booking here. At this price point, there are other campgrounds where you can get a much prettier, more private, better-maintained, and more thoughtfully designed camping experience. I would book here with caution if you are staying in one of the traditional campsites. I honestly wish I had found a review like this before booking, because the difference between the glamping experience they showcase and the traditional camping experience is significant. Unfortunately, the reasonable looking photos of RV and tent sites on their booking page do not appear to be of the actual campsites. We found those photos very misleading when we arrived at our actual site.

My family and I just spent 3 nights here as our first trip to Maine (2 adults with a 5 year old and a 3 year old). We absolutely LOVED it. All of the employees were very sweet, the pool area was beautiful, they had great music poolside on Sunday, activities for the kids, 2 playgrounds, an arcade (although small, it was still cute), an awesome store and our site was awesome as well. The bathhouses could use some updating, but we saw employees cleaning them daily at least once if not twice. My brother got one of the glamping couples retreat cabins on the salt marsh and that was absolutely beautiful as well. Rules are strict for speed limit, quiet hours and a fires out by 11, but as long as you’re respectful to other campers I don’t see any issues at all. Lots of families with kids of all ages, and even the other campers had a great aura. Definitely recommend.

Great place all around with friendly staff!

Sandy Pines is a great establishment. They called me the day of my arrival to let me know my Hideaway Hut was ready for an early check-in, fantastic customer service. The entire grounds are well kept ans maintained and as an avid camper of 50+ years, the have the cleanest bathrooms and showers, hands down. They are cleaned Multiple times a day. From check-in, the hut, the pool, the camp store, to check out, everything was perfect

I come here annually for a solo birthday trip. A few years ago the bathhouses looked so good, but now (at least the one I showered in) had chipped tile everywhere. I was really sad that the pool closed at 6 on such a gorgeous day.

We stayed in one of the family cabins with our 4 year old and it was great! We specifically requested one of the cabins with the twin beds behind the curtain, and the king bed in front, since he goes to bed before us and being able to close the curtain was key to a successful bed time. I do wish this was more clear online while booking - I had to call to figure out which cabins were configured that way. We were in #18. The amenities were amazing for a camp ground and the bath houses were easily accessible and SO clean. We look forward to staying here again in the future! I do wish that there wasn't a $25 fee to keep the actual site booked. When I inquired about this with camp ground staff, they said it was the booking site that dictates that fee - but honestly they should honor a site selection no matter what without paying more - unless there's a truly unforseen circumstance. That felt like a money grab for no good reason. We also wished the pool was open later. A 5pm close time on an 80° day felt early. Otherwise, we really did enjoy this campground and look forward to our return visit!
