We came to this place because it had open space around Christmas. Here is how it went:
The Good:
- Nice club house
- Pool looked nice and well kept
- Camp sites had concrete pads that were mostly level with sewer hookups at each place
- Fun Christmas decorations
The Not So Good:
- Booked on the website and they said 8 guests were allowed per camp site. Terms and conditions I signed said the same thing. Online check-in documents said the same thing. Paper they handed me at the counter when I checked in said the same thing. BUT the people at the counter said all that was wrong and it should actually be six per camp site. I had to fight with them just to be able to camp there with my wife and 6 children. Soooo......NOT a large family friendly place.
- Somewhat rude staff. They were not trying to help me get to a place where everyone was happy. They were stiff arming me and trying to make me conform to what they said rather than the documents I signed.
- Pool was locked the whole time we were there so we could not get in and use it.
- Staff leaves at 5pm, so if you need anything after that you are SOL
- Bathhouses and toilets were ok, but ran out of toilet paper with no one there to replace it, and NONE of the soap dispensers worked, even in the clubhouse.
- Concrete pad for a picnic table, but no table. Thanks guys.
- No fire rings.
- Expensive for not having the basic things at the site. Sure the clubhouse was nice, but it also closed at 10pm, so no late night games with the kids there.
- No large trees in the resort, just around the perimeter.
Bottom line:
Convenient location to Savannah, nice facilities, but the lack of basics, the attitudes of the staff, and I guess the "rule" of only 6 people will make this a NEVER AGAIN place on my list.
