Seward Municipal Campgrounds — Reviews

Nice location but only one shower building with two showers for over 500 campsites. Of the two showers in the men's side, only one was working and the water was barely warm. For the cost of over $50 per site, this is totally inadequate and frankly a rip off.

Nothing can beat the views and being located right on the water and bike trail. It’s also very conveniently located to town. However, the campground is nothing more than a gravel parking lot with utilities at only some sites.

Bathrooms disgusting and only half working. Late arrivals at midnight took forever to park so heard everything.

This place is essentially a big parking lot. It was VERY noisy and the bathrooms & showers were always dirty.

Quiet, clean and on the water edge; what more can one want. Oh yes complete with a fire pit.

We stayed in the Iditarod camp. Beautiful spot, but tons of people also using the space, people overnighting in the parking area just south of this site, using the amenities, all made us wonder why we paid $50/nt to camp for 4 nights. Next time we’ll just hang out for free, and will certainly let it be known!

Views were 10/10 on a clear day. There is a porta potty/pit toilet which is nice. There’s also fat fine for gray water dumping, which I completely understand. However, our camper doesn’t have a real tank but just an outlet from the camper (rented)… I wanted to brush my teeth and wash my dishes before bed but since the water had no where to go we didn’t. Luckily we were just there for the night so we left and did those chores elsewhere. Would be nice with a sink station or something though to do this so you could stay more than one day comfortably. Also the tourists in the morning and evenings make this spot much less relaxing. They were literally standing near our picnic table just outside our camper and looking into our windows when we woke up.
